We had reserved the trailer a couple of weeks in advance for pickup at 7:30 a.m. at a Montgomery location. The day before we moved our son to Atlanta, I got a text that said pickup was at 12:30 in Prattville. No one answered a phone call for us to ask why it had been changed. This put us five hours later leaving for Atlanta which was a HUGE inconvenience. What's the point of a reservation if it changes so drastically?Bryan R.

Somehow my reservation linked to a very old reservation causing my login to be impossible. The 247 pickup didn't work due to this. My 5:30am pickup was completed at around 7:30 throwing the whole day off. Nobody would answer the 800 number. The agent who responded via online chat couldn't help and told me to call the 800 number. Just an awful performance by U-Haul.Chris W.

I ordered a 26' truck and car hauler. About a week later I got a text message from UHaul. I didn't know if it was real or fake, so I called the number. I got the number of another UHaul dealer. They told me I had a split contract and was picking up a car hauler with them. I was never informed of that and would have gone to one place the day it was reserved, and expected to get both. Now I have an issue with mileage, gas, and driving on my dime. Then when I did get to the place to pick up a car hauler, they had none. I was told to come back, then I was called and said I had another place to go and pick one up, but it had to be picked up by 2:15pm, not in my plans and too far. Then, the car hauler I reserved finally showed up. I got a call and asked if I wanted it, I said yes, and asked when I was going to pick it up. I told them between 4:30 and 5:30 (closed at 6:00). 20 minutes later, got a call from someone else and was asked if I still wanted the trailer and when i was going to pick it up, but was told I only had 1 hour to pick it up from when I confirmed the reservation. Why wasn't that told to me? Oh, what about the time I DID show up and you didn't have it? Then I took the empty trailer back to my apartment. I loaded my vehicle onto the trailer after 1:00am and found out the left rear tire was flat, down to the rim. Called roadside assistance, and they were great. Please, ensure you communicate with your customers and maybe adding a checklist item to check tire pressure before renting out vehicles.Derrick G.

Turn-in person was absolutely fabulous. She was professional, courteous and efficient. 5-stars for her! Check-out person wasn't very helpful. Truck damage photos were taken sideways which made the check-out damage verification process difficult. Also, the U-Haul Guest Wi-Fi wouldn't work outside the office.James L.

I just disagree with the price increase for the unit, I am paying this for my daughter who along with my grandson were left homeless and jobless in May 2017. It is crucial to have all of their belongings in a clean safe place, life has been very stressful for both, and it means a lot to know that I have kept their material life secure. Leeway on milage as long as within reason, all I did was load the truck, had to load at two locations, and then make the direct trip to unload and return truck but charged for going over allotted miles by 5 miles....this may not seem like much but when moving and on such a strict budget this does make a difference. Overall I like u haul, but it is a little pricy and too strict with this.Janet M.

I went to the location at the Chevron station on Memorial drive. They did not have the truck I needed so they reserved me one at the Memorial Drive location I went to. I told them I would not go to Montgomery Alabama to pick up a truck. Well they lied to me and told me the truck would be in Prattville Al. Which it was not. I felt I was lied to. But the location I picked the truck up from was very customer oriented and I will gladly send them all the customers.RICHARD L.
I would recommend that you explain to a rental customer that 14 ft truck includes the box over the cab. I needed a truck to get over 12 ft on the floor and we got it loaded but the door would not close completely. We tied it closed.marvin G.

Our place and time was changed several times. When we arrived they did not have us scheduled even though my son talked to Birmingham that morning. We traveled 4 hours to get there. A truck had just arrived from Texas. After a long wait it was cleared. The lady was courteous and helpful. Very nice. Because of time changes, we did not get home until 3AM. I would recommend but caution about not getting it when you needed it.Rachael S.

The local location and staff were GREAT, VERY HELPFUL. I had trouble with the online pickup procedure. The website didn't tell me that I would need an alternate contact available for a phone call, a passport copy or a rental lease. I mean how could you not tell people that in advance?! I gave my husband's phone number, but when they called, he didn't pick up because it just looked like a random phone call. So I had to go inside and the lady at the counter helped straighten it out.PATRICIA F.

The people at the U-Haul in prattville Alabama have always been good In every aspect .Howard L.
We had a few issues that should be addressed: 1) After we cleared the units, the staff never checked to verify, and I got a bill after we left. 2) We never received notification from U-Haul that they acknowledged our moving out. 3) I like the idea of a refund for moving out early, but I don't expect U-Haul to implement such measures. 4) The gate had unresolved issues and would not close completely.Vincent R. | Overall Experience

The only issue I have is the difficulty of lifting/moving the 6x12 trailer. If there was a jack on the front of the trailer it could be moved without issue. Due to the difficult I have to rethink my renting of the uhaul trailer in the future.Ron O.

My scheduling and destination were wrong,. The girl scheduled me a day late and instead of going to Tulsa, Oklahoma she had me going to Phoenix AZ. I noted the errors when I got my email confirmation. Then spent 30 minutes on hold trying to fix it with UHaul customer services. Totally a screw up. Truck was fine but got no instructions on Overdrive that I had to find. It was a switch on the passenger side. Only had a girl there for pickup with no instructions or inspection of truck. totally messed up. Oil light went on after one hour on road. I had 40lb ( was that low?) oil pressure and turned out oil was on add level of stick. I added a quart of oil at my cost. Oil light stayed on the whole trip that was a concern over a 13 hour drive. Truck ran great with overdrive, an hour into trip.Tildon W.

My auto-charge card had expired 4 months ago and all transactions were successful through February. But for March the card was declined...rather call me or email about what happened the manager stuck a late fee on my account. It would have been much easier to exam the payment history to give me a heads-up rather than waste my -and the sweet lady who helped me- time. I traveled from Savannah Georgia several times on the weekends. While I was in town, I would go to access my storage. When I had problems with my card or security code for accessing the unit, I was told to wait until Monday for someone to reactivate those said items. Doing so was an inconvenience to me because I was only in town for the weekend and staying until Monday for a specific time caused a conflict with my schedule. When I would do as required of me I still would be met with the same obstacles as before. I eventually stop making payments and allowed my storage to be put up for auction. I believe that is a common theme with this specific storage unit company. They will not allow an individual to access their units, give the said individual the run around so they cannot close out the account the proper way. Instead they would mentally and physically drain a person to the point that they will give up and forfeit their unit so it can go up for auction.Tameika S. | Overall Experience

I have been paying storage rental for Trailer for several months behind a gate. this past week at sometime it was stolen the manager Penny has a no give crap attitude about it and not much different from her higher ups. Supposed to be paying my tow bill cause it was recovered. But it's there negligence that it was stolen and should be held responsible. There was a smell in the facility that got into all of our clothing and furniture. The only way I was able to remove it was by washing everything, putting it in the cleaners or throwing it away. Even the hard surface furniture had the smell. I was extremely disappointed (6). (5) It appeared to be but I do not know what happened later that cause the poop smell. My complaint was sent to there insurance company but they denied it because we did not purchase the insurance coverage. We were asked if we had home coverage and we did on our old home at that time but when the house was sold (in North Carolina) the policy ended and it was four months before we moved into our new home. U-Haul Insurance coverage was never offered to us so we did not know we needed it or that it even existed. U-Haul should be liable for this damage because our items were suppose to be protected by them. This is U-haul facility so they should have control over the smells.
