It took over two hours to pick up the trailer. The kid asked me if I could load my car into the trailer myself. When I said I wanted help he had to call a guy up from the back to help who was obviously upset about it. They were arguing over the phone while I was standing there. Once it was all said and done they didn't even check my trailer lights. Just sent me on my way.Michael T.
The brakes failed on the truck. We were charged fo a rental truck at the return home, without carrying our load. This is bulkshit . Endangered our lives, did accomplish the objective, still charged. We should sue you. We are looking at Penske for our next rents. We use around 20 per year, and are tested like this. Not even I I'm sorry for giving you a truck with bad brakes.Alan U.

Everyone was cool ,checkout went smooth checked the gas cage like I was told it seemed to be on half full.I drove it two miles to my house and it moved off the half.We drove a total of 5 miles and your company wanted to charge me $10.50 for gas.Number one gas is $5.00 a gallon and 10.50 Is overkill for 5 miles.Because I complained she took off the gas charge but still charged me for $1.39 a mile for ten miles.I guess this is how u guys do business.Not very customer friendly.Regatds Richard SloaneRichard S.

The gas was filled to the level when the truck was rented -I put a gas about $25 after drive 50 miles. The staff did not check the gas level with me and told that it was done as the key was returned. I found that there was about $10 charged on the bill from email invoice.Byung A.

I got charged two days for rental consecutive it happened twice so both times including the drop off day I waited until 6 pm because it is upsetting that the workers could not tell me how much he was charging he said when we are done it will email you a receipt with total! If he told me he was going to charge two more days I would have brought it back the next morning as it was not in use! I ordered a van and it was canceled last minute then I was offered a 15 ft truck that had it's check engine lights on and low fuel. I had to go to different location that was way further and was not compensated for the fuel cost for the difference in distance.Brigitte P.

We tried a location on pomerado road first and endured increasingly unprofessional and disrespectful treatment by the old man (watching porn at the desk, visible in the reflection behind him) who copied an ID and ran a credit card just before a heated phone conversation in arabic interrupted what appeared to be a completed transaction. Upon hanging up the phone, rather than handing keys or receipts, he barked with escalating volume and hostility that he won't rent to the man with whom he'd just gone through the motions of renting to, adding that he won't rent to his family or friends either, then additional shouted decrees that were unintelligible because everyone had fled from the lobby by that point. The older poway uhaul location was our next stop. The staff there immediately addressed and assisted us in the utmost courteous and efficient manner. I happily bought every upsell he offered, and cannot express the glaring dichotomy of customer experiences between the poway road and pomerado road locations. Had I not gone to poway road location after the pomerado one, I likely never would have used uhaul ever again, thus I'm happy home depot was out of cargo vans in the area leading me to find out that uhaul as a whole hasn't slipped into a rotten experience company, and it was just a belligerent thug misrepresenting the company's standards while souring and scaring customers away from the location on pomerado road. The parking situations at both locations should be evaluated for possible improvements, though.Christopher W.

Overall the customer service was excellent. Receiving a truck with mechanical issues and 1/4 tank sucked! It was a HORRIBLY rough ride, the transmission was wrecked. Driving over 600 miles, fully loaded was the most dangerous experience I've ever had with a U-Haul rental. Upon return, Bryce in the Redding location was kind and allowed me to return there vs Red Bluff where I was originally scheduled. He drove the truck 10 feet and absolutely agreed something was wrong with the truck. It should NOT have been rentable in the fleet.Juliane C.

I was told that my U-boxes would be delivered to the Poway location and that they boxes would be moved inside their "gates" and when I called to follow up on another issue, I find that they are at another address and that the U-boxes would have to be picked up from there. This is a nightmare! No clear communication. Can't get on the website. Transferred on the phone multiple times. A MESS! When I made the reservations I Was reassured bueno staff member that the unit with the best location would be mine on Saturday when I came to move in. It was clean and well maintained. The only concern I had and it is a small one is that the area my unit was in felt much warmer than the first area you walked into in the storage complex. I chose the climate controlled storage as I was storing antique dolls and some photographs and VHS tapes. I don't think anything was affected but I have not yet unpacked it all. I called for three days and nobody would answer my call so I finally drove to Poway to check on my storage unit. On my moving out day Everything appeared to be fine except when my daughter found mouse droppings on my plastic tubs and on the floor of the unit. How long did this mouse live there before someone put a mouse trap in the unit? The worse thing is that the dead mouse is in one of my boxes! I took a picture of it if you need proof. I called the health department on my experience with your storage unit. It was documented. Since you have so many units why aren't the mouse traps or mouse poison checked on a regular basis? I have rented units for years and this has NEVER happened before. I have to throw out some items because I don't know how long the mouse lived in my unit. The unit should be prorated for July and I should receive a refund for the days that I did not use it. I am just glad I moved out my things when I did. I made an online reservation for a 7x20x6 Vanbody, but when I arrived to the storage facility, the manager said that he could not find my reservation in the system. He showed me a much smaller 7x14 unit and said that was all he had or I could try searching for a self-storage facility in the area. I drove all the way from Maryland only to be told "good luck". In the end, the manager was able to rent me a 7x26 storage unit only because a reservation was canceled at the last minute. I had the whole move and storage planned weeks in advance and am frustrated with the nonchalant response of the manager. During this covid pandemic, I have not been able to be in the country during my move in and with a mixup with the container I am renting. Both times I have called the store, I have worked with Toby over the phone. He delivers awesome service and has helped me to resolve all my issues each time.
