The gentleman who helped me, William Da Cruz, set up my storage unit and the return of my rental truck was an absolute pleasure to deal with! 1. Get the mileage correct. My receipt said the mileage start was 79410, when it was actually 79426. But because I didn't upload the info right away, (and I was not given that info about updating the link that was sent me at check in) I got charged for going 30 miles! Which according to my calculations, was incorrect. I was overcharged by $25 during this Covid pandemic. 2. Remove the graffiti off your trucks. A customer should not have to ride around in a truck tagged with graffiti. It's embarrassing, and shameful. 3. Your team looked tired and overworked. Get some rest, practice prayer and meditation and take care of one another with lunches and breaks so your team feels loved, respected and valued at work. The truck leaked and caused 3,000 dollars of damage. I purchased the insurance and I was still denied cause after waiting a month they said they couldn't find a leak. The truck sat in heavy Rain on a hilly street for a couple of days while we waited to move in. It was a horrible experience and I will make sure to tell anyone moving my experience and to go else where. This company does not care about the clients they serve.Steven G.

Being a RISD student I had a chance to use this facility every summer for 4 years and even after I graduated I needed to store my stuff for longer since I wasn't sure where I would end up afterwords. The place is clean and always felt safe going in and out of there. We were told the trailer would be cleaned inside and out - but especially inside. I uploaded images upon receipt after getting a new link sent. The interior was as filthy as exterior. I attempted to clean before packing but it was too much to do as I had to pack it for quite a big move to Florida. Additionally, attendee said I could return it to a location convenient for me but added one to my reservation which was not even noted on my contract! They had me picking up and returning to RI! In any event we stopped at 3 locations - none would accept. Finally I got through to uhaul after a 30 min wait and they gave me an address to drop it off. The staff at the Pawtucket, RI location was less than honest about every part of process. Very disappointed and cost was approximately 670.00 for a dirty disgusting trailer. After driving to the storage facility and renting a unit to secure it as it was the last one available of its size, I begin the flow process of moving items in and within two weeks rented a U-Haul truck to bring the rest of my stuff to the storage unit... I was told upon renting a storage unit that I would get a free month if I rented the truck from them to bring my belongings to Rhode Island from another stateâ€¦ I was told it would not come off the first month but a subsequent month... Later, when I receive a bill notice through email, I grab the receipt to the truck rental and brought it to the storage facility to apply for my rebateâ€¦ I was told that the young man that told me that information and lied to me and that he had been firedâ€¦ And that I was not eligible for a free month storage FaceTime the time he had laid out for meâ€¦ I was told I could move everything out of the storage unit and rent a different storage unit to put it in and be eligible for the rebate at that timeâ€¦ Totally ridiculous ridiculous... Poorly managed and do you think firing an employee who may have given some bad information resolve their issue with meâ€¦ He would be a representative at the time of my securing the storage unit and they refused to honor the agreementâ€¦ I was told to have a nice day by the clerk who refused to discuss what I was promised... I said not hardly... He repeated have a nice day two or three times as I walked out of the buildingâ€¦ This is how you train your employees U-Haul? I'll be moving my property to another unit all right but it will be with a different storage facilityâ€¦David H.

I Have To Say That I Spoke With A "Mary" At Corporate n She Messed Everything Up When Making All My Reservations... BUT... "KALIL" At The Pawtucket, RI, Newell St/Av Location Made Everything Right Even Though It Was Extremely Difficult!!! He Is a Life Saver!!! The Best Customer Service Rep That Ive Ever Had!!! I Am Sooo Thankful That He Was There!!! N If You Ever Need Some Real Help Or Im Going To Say With Anything At All He Is The Man To See!!! If It Wasnt For Him I Wouldve Been In a Much Worse Spot Than I Am Even Now!!! I had interacted with a few employees over the past two days. Most of them were great and I would give five stars. The gentlemen that booked my truck was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. His mask was off, explaining the system poorly, would not make eye contact, responded very short and was rude in general. It reflected poorly on the other great employees. My storeage had Rat tirds all over my stuff. Pee everywhere. Know i have to replace my 1500.00 sofa. Brought clothes to cleaners due to rats. Not only that the rental truck was a mess i took a video when i got in it. Also the tank was not on half a tank it was below it. Yesterday when I was trying to move out all the things from the storage unit-elevator in the building was broken. Spoke to staff on site (who opened office ten minutes late) and they said they cant help and offered no solution or assistance. Called UHaul 1800 number-got forwarded to customer care- again no solution and they told me to speak to site general manager. No site general manager present. I can't give it more than 3 stars due to having an issue w the elevator while we were moving in. The elevator literally stopped working and when we called for help no one came. We rang the help button and waited for close to 15 minutes. When no one came we went to the office and finally a lady staff told the guy of the situation but he was busy and came over after he finished what he was doing. We had to carry stuff up to the second floor a few times before the manager came and fixed the elevator about 20min after the guy left and told us there was nothing more he could do and there is no other elevator for the storage place. The staff was nice but there should be another elevator or a staff specifically answering the people at the storage units. Staff was extremely rude and dismissive.rented a truck and a storage unit. Called to move in. Told us we can't because no move ins after 4:30. Well no one told us that. Called to extend my U-Haul rental. Kept getting hung up on. Staff saying"we should of thought about how long we needed the truck" when we planned to move in the same day but NO ONE INFORMED US WE WOULDNT BE ABLE TO. Next day comes around and we go to rent a unit at U-Haul Pawtucket 5x10 ... elevator breaks... we are offered little options to solve this and not even an apology from staff. End up renting a 10x10 in another building having to walk all of the stuff we already moved through the building over the bridge across another building to our unit. Again, no help or compensation offered from staff. I understand that things happen no one can control a broken elevator. In hopes that this review makes its way to the powers that be so that change will be made in an expedient time frame. After reading the reviews and having no other choices, I reluctantly gave my business to the Pawtucket U-Haul facility. Day one, when I arrived to pick up the rental truck, the young man assisting me at the desk although polite was not knowledgeable in the areas of my other reservation for storage, the promotion of " If you rent a truck you get the first month free for a storage unit", or the location of the unit itself. He had me walking around in the maze from one building to another. After debating for some time and another associate confirming the promotion we finely got everything squared away. When I returned with my belongings the elevator to my unit was not accessible because I was told they couldn't find the KEY. After about an hour they finally granted me another unit located on the first floor. This unit was smaller in height by two feet, a big difference for storage. Still no complaints. Day two, I needed another unit to store the rest of my belongings. After the transaction was complete the associate brought me to view the unit. We entered the building, but the elevator was broken so we had to take the stairs. Was told by Sandy from corporate and the associate that the elevator is down several times throughout the year and that it was getting shut down in August to be replaced. The associate who brought me to view the unit assured me that the elevator would be fixed shortly so I could move in to my unit located on the second floor. It took the elevator repairman to tell me after waiting 45 minutes for the KEY that the elevator would not be available until a part was ordered. It turned out to be down for two days. I was then told by Corey Perry the manager that they had a "BACKUP" elevator, but it was located in the other building. Now I had to reload the rental truck and drive to the other building. Sandy offered to help reload, but I declined she did not inform me of her affiliation to the company nor did Corey I found out later. Now I was transporting my belongings from one building to another thru dust and debris, making multiple trips even with the assistance of Chris an employee. Afterward I returned to the desk and asked for the manager, I was told he was with another customer. I replied that I would wait, he showed up seconds later. I wanted to know what were the expenses that I had accrued and would be expecting to see on my credit card statement. He offered no discounts or apologies for my inconvenience until I asked. Then told me that he needed to check with corporate and get back to me. All in all after reading the reviews I expected to be treated with unprofessionalism but never thought that the process of using this facility would be so laboring. I was paying two guys $90.00 per hour for standing around waiting for a KEY to an elevator on both occasions. Needless to say I will not be using this branch again nor would I suggest it to anyone. Sandy from Corporate, Corey Perry manager, Han assistant manager all failed to inform me of their affiliation to the company. I have always used the U-Haul facility in East Providence with NO problems and am very heartened that they were not able to accommodate me this time.CARMEN M. | First Impressions
