We made a reservation , went to pick up the truck and were told that they had no trucks for us. We had to drive over 20 minutes away to pick up a truck at another location. There was a long line and a long wait , set us back two hours on our move. Would not recommend. We should have been informed that the truck was not available at the location we choose so we wouldn’t have waisted time and money to get there , then go somewhere else to finally get a truck.

The pick up location was severely understaffed, which greatly impacted our move. We had to wait 2 hours to get the u-haul van we rented to bring our goods to the location to fill our u-box.

Give clear instructions that a credit card must be presented at time of pick up If someone other than person who reserve the truck comes. My husband came to pick up truck, I was in Manhattan and unavailable. They would not give him truck. He wasted.cab fare to go both ways to pick up truck. I asked twice if he could pick up truck since they had all my info and was.told yes he could. It was a major inconvenience and customer dissatisfier. I spoke with a Nadine and Pauline about the matter. Clearer instructions needed..

The location of customer service is REALLY REALLY REALLY hot! Your employees end up working really slow because of the heat and exhaustion. Having hired a 3-person team to help me move, waiting 20 minutes in line (twice) has caused me over $200. Why is this? You really really need to provide your staff air conditioning. It isn't fair to them nor your customers.

They forgot to provide me with a furniture dolly, which I did not realize until I was at my destination. We had movers ready to go, and with it taking almost an hour to retrieve it we had to do the entire move without it which was a pain. I was refunded the cost of the dolly, but if I'd much preferred to just have my dolly! I would recommend, but I would also tell someone to double check for their equipment!

The location was incredibly understaffed. Wait times for someone at the counter were longer than 30 minutes. The staff wasn't very friendly, and since it seemed like they were overworked, they were making errors. Someone would stand in line for 30+ minutes, think they were all set and leave the store, only to come back a few minutes later since there was an issue, and they would have to stand in line for another 30 minutes. We've used this location twice with similar results. For our next rental we'll drive a bit further to get to a different location, with more staff and better service.

Terrible process to pickup van. I feel bad for the people that work there. Each person took over 15 minutes. The website MUST state that you need to bring your cell phone to verify the phone # given. In addition I replaced the gas used but was still charged. Would fight it but am tired of dealing with U Haul. Need to shape up.

I did a self checkout. No one told me that I needed to keep clicking through after they gave the van and i clicked i found my van. Now you have charged me for 2 days rental and for 160 miles when I only did 60. Basically taking money from our new baby. Please credit me back the extra 100 miles and additional day. I only rented the van for 1 day and did 60 miles. I even returned it with more gas than when inleft.

Long wait at the counter. Employee in charge of bringing the van and inspecting it with the customer wouldn't bother to drive the vehicle. Instead he waived me over to where the vans were parked. With very hostile attitude grabbed the key turned the engine on and left without a word. Another employee cut me off with another van and parked his in front of me as I was trying to leave. When I beeped, he yelled "I see you!" making me wait.

Hi, There was utter confusion from Uhaul regarding options for drop off--I called original location to ask about using one closer and they said sure. I got there and the second location did not accept trailers! They gave me phone number to call and that led me to go this, the third location. Long drive across Brooklyn and I was helped by a nice guy who unhitched the trailer and said he'd send a receipt via email. I did not get it so had to call the next day to request it--all of which took quite a long time. Your phone support was helpful for that part, so really it was a mixed bag of a pain in the next and confusion with moments of helpful service.

Not sure what happened, but for some reason the odometer readings were not matching up (it was saying that I was returning the truck with less miles than I started with) and it cause about a 40 minute delay in the drop-off because I had to go inside. Overall - the pickup system done solely through the phone needs work, I would not do it again.

AWFUL experience with this location. They kept our movers (WDT Moving from NJ, who were FANTASTIC) waiting at their location 2 hours for our UBoxes which despite my reserving them for our move two months in advance, weren't ready. The boxes arrived at our residence two and a half hours later than the end of our moving window. To add insult to injury, despite being previously assured by a UHaul customer service that there would be at least a dozen furniture pads per UBox, there were ZERO furniture pads included and the UBoxes were not dressed with exterior weather protection tarps. 0/10 stars, awful experience; to UHaul's credit, they did give us a partial refund of our reservation, but I had to spend hours on the phone, outlining this story at least five times, before any action was taken. AWFUL experience.

My confirmed reserved truck was moved from one location to another. Then when I went to pick up the truck, it had been released to another renter. Then I had to go to another site to pick up my truck that had a line of 20 other renters. Once I got my truck, I was told that I had to go to my original pick up site to get my paid in advance supplies. After vehemently protesting that ridiculous suggestion to the on site general manager, I was finally given my purchased items. This 3 hour delay backed up my entire day causing much more stress than I had planned for. My aggregation all began with my confirmed reservation being moved to another locale.

Let your cleaning crew who cleans the vehicle to NOT USE SLIPPERY CLEANING SOLUTIONS ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLES. WHEN I WAS GETTING IN THE TRUCK I RENTED THE SLIPPERY SOLUTION MADE ME SLIDE UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL AND I PULLED SOMETHING BAD IN MY RIGHT LEG. I’m still pissed off because I was limping around since the night it happened and my right leg and buttock is still sore.

Received my van 45 minutes late, was yelled at by three staff members who spent the entire time dragging their feet to move three other vans that were blocking my van in, actively talking about how they didn’t want to do it because it was early in the morning. Finally one guy moved two of the vans blocking my vehicle and pointed at my van, which was still blocked in by one other van, and walked away. Another guy came in to help and moved the last van in my way. There were two other people there who had the same issues, but the staff were so rude no one felt comfortable asking repeatedly for what we all paid for in advance. The worst van rental experience I’ve ever had. I originally had not selected this location but received a text message saying that my van was no longer available and I would have to pick up a different vehicle from this location instead at a later time. This in addition to the terrible service at the actual U-Haul location nearly made me late for my movers (who I booked through U-Haul). Do not use this service. And for the love of god do not try to use the app and pick up the van on your own.

I booked my uhaul over a month before our pickup date with a 7am pickup time, but two days before our moving day I received an update of this location, which was 40 minutes away from me and the time was changed to 2:30, several hours after we had to be out of the apartment. After calling several people and receiving no help, I finally was able to change it to 11:30, which was better than 2:30 but still caused us to be very late and fined for this reason. Also, the pickup location was still 40 minutes away despite the fact that I booked a location 5 minutes from my apartment. This whole experience was unacceptable.

The organization is terrible and employees are not properly trained (which makes them appear incompetent). There is no system in place for separating truck rentals and supply purchases. There is no system in place for getting your truck once you have the keys. No one takes responsibility. No action has been taken to anticipate days of higher volume (like weekends at the end of the month). It took over an hour for us to get our truck one we showed up. Unacceptable.

I went on the worst possible day, the 30th of June. The pick-up time and location were changed by your online service (location was better, time was ridiculously bad, I had asked for a 9am and it was changed to 3pm even though the trailer was ready and waiting at the 4th Avenue location) but after a call, I was given the green light. I came in and there were thirty people ahead of me and soon thirty behind. But here's the twist: through the whole process, the staff, all of them, were cool and collected and very friendly and helpful. I can't recall a better group of UHaul teammates. Exceptional.

This is the worst Uhaul ever! This is the second time Ive rented from you and thought it would be different but it hasnt changed. They add on all these additional charges, the bill is never correct. People always walk out with issues. I had issues with the bill last time and this time also. They owe me money. Acknowledged it and I still got billed wrong! The counter people are rude!! They dont smile and they are disrespectful in their tone. From the manager on down. This place is horrible. And Im still fighting to get my money.

Everyone was rude at this location. They also caused everyone to wait in one line for an hour only to tell us we were in the wrong line for our reservation and the line we were on was for mobile app users (after they helped others with normal reservations). They didn’t have the trolly we reserved and forgot to provide us with the mattress bags we purchased with the reservation. Everyones attitude was poorest representation of customer service. I will never book a uhaul from this location again.

I have seen rodent droppings in my unit a few times, and on many occasions there were various dirty objects pushed into my unit either from other units or through the cracks around the door.
