Cindy was an excellent customer service rep. She was super helpful and kind. She made sure I walked away with what was best for me. I had reserved a 20' truck, but since there wasn't one in stock, she upgraded me to a 26' truck at no extra cost and even threw on a dolly. What kind of a business calls their customers angry and freaking out over the fact that their product is being used. Poor communication skills between everyone who works there. When I rented the truck on tuesday I told her I would have it back Thursday or Friday at the earliest. All morning Wednesday the u-haul manager/ employees are calling me over and over. Leaving voicemails in my voicemail and my emergency contacts acting like I was in the wrong for having the truck. What kind of a business freaks out on the customers for using their service? What kind of business is blatantly rude to their customers. I have the voicemails to prove it. I hope you read this ASAP BEFORE YOU LOSE MORE CUSTOMERS!JACK C.
Staff and manager were unwelcoming, rude and I had to ask repeated questions regarding pick up of a vehicle, that should have been casual explained. My check out process regarding my $100 refund was a nightmare. I was on the phone for 2 hours HOLDING on 3 different phone numbers because no one would transfer me to a supervisor and one representative HUNG UP ON ME after a 30+ minute hold when I requested to speak to a supervisor. It was the WORST customer service phone experience I've had with Uhaul and I've been using you since the 90's. It makes me not ever want to use y'all again if there's a chance I have to CALL customer service for support. Your hood times are ridiculous and telling your employees to NOT transfer to supervisors is sickening. When someone wants to speak to a manager THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO!!! And then the computer system was trying to charge ME an additional $44 when I returned the truck and I was on time, I OVERfilled the gas tank more than I was supposed to. I had to fight with so many of your phone reps , after finally answering after 30+ minute holds, to get my refund. LIVID!!!!THULE K.

I rented the truck for 4 days. Within the first 48 hours, after driving all night customer service was calling, texting, and emailing at 8 AM asking when the truck will be returned. They also were delegating which location it had to be returned to. When I rented the truck we were informed we could choose the locale that worked best for us. I was appalled that being up for two days driving this was the customer service extended. Never again.Robert D.

*****WARNING****DONT USE UHAUL****** I made a reservation for a truck and a unit with a free month. When inpicked up the truck I was told to have it back early for another person's reservation. I agreed with the stipulation that I would be able to move into my new unit and have 24 hour access with the additional 10 dollar charge. I was not given any unit and the reservation for it was never acknowledged, though the truck reservation was. Not having the unit to move my stuff into, it became impossible to empty the truck for return at the previously agreed time. Location was terrible as they knew prior to me renting the truck that I could only have it back at the agreed time with the unit to move into. The employees at this location did not honor the reservation for the unit thereby breaking the agreement to have the truck back early. Then these employees called and left threatening messages, charged me 400 dollars for the truck rental, and I did not receive a free month. In fact, I was "flagged" and not allowed to rent a unit at all there, information discovered when I brought the truck there to unload. The whole process took days and was a nightmare I wont soon forget. Sadly this is not the first incident I have had with uhaul.. the last time I used uhaul I was charged for having the truck for 4 days when I had it for only 24 hours. I had to pay the bill on this before renting the truck for the above mentioned nightmare. I had no choice or I wouldn't have been able to save my stuff. It's funny the focus was on the past truck rental and current truck rental, and nothing was even mentioned of my reservation for a unit I needed to unload the truck that, again, was the agreement before picking up the truck. My other nightmare with uhaul is when my wife tried to have a hitch installed on loo ur SUV and was charged $200 and the job was never done. Okay, it happens right? What shouldn't have happened was the refusal to refund us our money for NO work done and took us over 5 weeks of fighting to get our money back. I WILL NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN AND I SUGGEST NO ONE DOES AS WELL BECAUSE: IF YOU USE UHAUL, THEN YOU WILL LIKELY EXPERIENCE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: -NO ACCOUNTABILITY -NO MANNERS -NO ETHICS -MAKE THREATS TO CUSTOMERS -DONT LIVE UP TO THEIR END OF CONTRACTS -OVERCHARGE -CHARGE FOR NO WORK -DONT HONOR RESERVATIONS -BULLY YOU INTO PAYING MORE THAN EXPECTED -AND IM SURE THERE IS MORE.. The Colorado location was absolutely wonderful. However, I visited the Buckley location the day before to pick up more boxes and it was the worst experience I have had with a retail company. That store made me feel like I wasn't a person because I am in a wheelchair. Like because of my disability they don't have to treat me with respect because I don't matter enough. It was a horrible and absolutely hands down the worst experience ever! Especially since the manager of that location didn't do anything about it and actually seemed like he condoned the behavior. I have the whole interaction/incident on camera because my dash cam recorded it all but he refused to even look at it. I had called the corporate office about it and they just took down notes and said someone would contact me about it. Well no one has called me about this and it has almost been a week. I am almost starting to believe that your company just doesn't care about how your employees treat your customers or what kind of drugs they do on the clock. Please remember that this was the store off of Buckley road in Aurora CO, not the Colorado Blvd location.Dayne C.
I was moving all of my personal belongings into a storage unit. The original storage unit that I ordered online was shown to me when I arrived to look at it. It was an "example space" the rep told me. Then, a few minutes later a different representative came and took me to my actual space... which was WAY, WAY, WAY smaller than the size that they had showed me before. I asked why is this space much smaller? The rep said "Oh! You weren't looking at the arrows on the floor!" Nobody told me about any arrows on the floor in the example space I did not have very much time, because I was moving the very next day, and I had limited money... As my children and I would be homeless for the next three months, so of course I could not "ask for a larger space, for more money". The result?? I had to throw out 1/3 of my furniture that I had been collecting furniture for 30 years. I had to throw out my bigger furniture in order to fit into you guys as much smaller space. I did not have time to sell my furniture, instead. You guys did the old "Bait and Switch" on me. I'm going to make sure that the better Business bureau is contacted regarding this. I also lost all of my furniture, because apparently U-Haul doesn't care that and we were in the midst of a pandemic, and me and many other people lost every job they had. There were priceless items in that storage space my children's baby items, hundreds of books that I collected over the years, and I'm 49 years old I had journals back from the time I was 17 years old that were thrown out. I was glad that U-Haul kept my items as long as you guys did. My financial situation is slowly turning around, but right now, I can't afford to pay anything except my rent, which is exorbitant. Also, you U-Haul must hire better customer service people. The few I spoke with made it clear that I was not going to get anywhere with them, so I stopped answering when I did not recognize a phone number.Vera J. | Overall Experience

I had called the night before to the after-hours customer service who told me I could drop my equipment off anywhere. I returned my equipment to the closest location to me but was informed by staff there that it *had* to go to a location very far away through heavy inner-city traffic. I was given the wrong ball mount for my trailer. They hooked it up without telling me or even noticing. It was basically dragging on the ground. It is really unsafe to send people off like that and it put me a day behind schedule because I had to wait for uhaul to open the next day, get the correct ball mount, then unmount the trailer and remount it to the new one. I also had to purchase two ball mounts due to this error. And I paid for furniture pads which they did not give me.KALI M.

Not realizing the gas tank wasn't full when I picked up the truck (the gauge wasn't clear to me if it was full or an eighth under full), I then filled the truck at the end of the day. When I picked up, I took a photo of the tank and submitted it with the pre checkout like I was texted. Honestly, it was a long day and I was tired, so remembering that the tank may or may not have been full wasn't on my mind when filling. The person I dropped off too said it wasn't a problem and I would be credited the extra. The credit didn't appear. I called in and was told nothing could be done. This is frustrating. If it was overfilled by a gallon, I wouldn't care, but this was 5 gallons extra. Otherwise, everything else about the experience went well.Garrett V.

The access code that was emailed to me did not work. However, I used a swipe card that I had from another unit I had at the building and it let me in. There is a sign and listed on your website that says elevators are available for use. This location has "split level" with no elevator. I was moving heavy, large items into storage like a washer and dryer and these items need an elevator to get up to the storage unit I initially rented. I had to change my rental and get charged MORE MONEY to get access to a SMALLER unit in the ground level. Inside store was clean and in great condition. The outside parking area is not fenced and there were homeless and other unfortunate souls wandering through the lot. We watched a drug deal happen in the lot when we returned the truck after hours. The van we rented had a mostly clean interior, except for some trash in the doors. It ran without any problems. The outside was beat up and dented. The online check in with the app was slow and cumbersome and it took over an hour to check out our van at the U-Haul store.Patrick S.

My only complaint is I was 2 hours past my return time. A agent from this location called me when I was expected back. I shared with her what had caused me to miss my return time. I shared with her I needed 2 more hours to return my vehicle. I was emailed a copy of my bill. Here is the complaint. I was charged for another 24 hour period. This is a very expensive 2 hours. I hope that local uhaul agents have some discretion that perhaps it would show good customer relations and not charge me for another full day. I have used U-Haul for a good many years. I drove about 20 miles to where I was loading the rental trailer. After loading, I noticed one of the trailer tires looked visibly low. 5 miles from any gas station I had to drive to a gas station and get air for the tire. It was on 10 psi before I filled it up.Andrew P.

This location was assigned to me when I specifically asked at my pick up to be able to choose. The representative I spoke with said they had issued my truck to someone already and would issue a $50 to my credit card upon receiving the equipment. It just sucked cuz I was told by customer service when I booked it that the price is the same no matter how long you rent a truck for, but then was told by another agent that I'd be charged for another day since I had it over 24 hours. I get it, but I was not informed about that and the info I was given by the first rep resulted in me feeling more relaxed enough to keep it out longer. There were several frustrating issues with my experience. I am glad I decided to run over a car full of our items and get the storage unit a week earlier than we are moving because it would have been awful if I had our family (that is helping us move next weekend) sitting around waiting through the mess that was getting our storage unit. They had trouble finding our reservation which wasn't a big deal but a little time consuming. Then when I went to the loading dock and unloaded I found out the unit they gave me had a lock on it. So, I had to reload my items into my car so I wouldn't leave my items unattended and then go to the office to get them to unlock it. There was another person there also waiting for them to unlock his unit as well. Why rent units that are locked? It all seemed super disorganized and like they were understaffed. Then when we opened my unit the alarm went off because they set me up with a pin but didn't tell me that I can only use one of the pin pads by the loading dock door so it wasn't working. After loading all of my stuff into the unit I went back to the office to sort out the pin issue and there was no one there so I stood around for about 10 minutes. I finally found the manager and he helped me. The whole process of dropping off my car load of stuff and getting our unit should have taken 30 minutes but it all took about 1.5+ hours. The staff was nice enough but they are a mess and need more staff. I would not recommend this storage facility.Kathlyn S. | First Impressions
The initial staff was horrible. Flooding ruined property which was not replaced or paid for due to scam insurance. Proper removal of funds not done, And end of storage, found that funds removed after closure of account. Only good comment was cleaning crew was great and always friendly. I have been using Uhaul on Uninta & Colfax quit frequently This Yr. I got a,email for storage that came in the nick of time. Elisabeth at the Park Hill store, Represented Uhaul as as a very unprofessional business. If not For the,General Manager "Mr.Benjamin Holen" we would have been in a terrible situation. I Give him⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. He fixed us getting our stuff in Storage. I spent over three hours,back and forth with Elisabeth. Not to mention She was no where to be found for at least ten minutes or so to fulfill her reservation that was made. She choose to Assist everything from from phone payments, digging in her nose with her finger directly in my face to wanting to Assist another customer behind me before finishing her contract obligations with me after accepting my money. She is a Insult to Customer Service as well as Hospitality Management. I'm not sure If I will deal with Uhaul anymore if She represents the Company and I would have no choice but to deal with her.
