The day before I was supposed to pick up a 26' truck I received a phone call (minutes before they closed for the day) from the new Lenox il uhaul. The said â€œthe truck you had reserved will not be here and we can't find one, we are about to close for the day so call the 800 numberâ€. Then hung up. I called the 800 number. They where very helpful and reserved me a truck for the day I was supposed to have it with a different pick up location that was near by. I called the park forest il location to confirm that the new location did indeed have the 26' truck I reserved. They said â€œyes we have a few hereâ€. Sunday morning when I got there to pick up the truck, again there where no 26' trucks. Uhaul scheduling was a complete and total mess.Dane H.

I'm 62 years of age and I had to unhook and remove a 6x12 open trailer with the ramp by myself in the rain. As the U-Haul representative never came outside to remove the trailer from my vehicle. I waited for the representative but he never came. I just drove 8 hours straight and was quite fatigued. Poor customer service.Jason L.

The system changed my pick up location without my knowledge after I placed my reservation. I then had to pick up for a further location as long as I promised to bring the truck back by 6:30pm the same day. The guy who handled my reservation charged again for mattress covers that I had already paid when I placed the reservation. For the next customer better communication on the website about location changes and better communication when trucks go down and reservation times have been pushed back.Sherise M.

There was a left over coke can from the previous person using the truck, cigarette ash that wasn't cleaned out of the ash tray. The truck was absolutely filthy on the inside. It's funny how there are. No questions about customer service. The only questions are if the facility was clean? What if the facility and equipment was clean, do you not care about customer service? First you need people that want to work and that are knowledgeable of your procedures!! From the time of my rental til my returning of the truck TOTAL DESASTER !!!! I came in to your facility to make my reservation you have no available storage but you offer free storage for first month !! Second when I came to pick up the truck my reservation was on the wrong day and there was no storage space reserved !!! At the time of my reservation I took the only space that was available!!! Last but not least I ask what was your acceptable payments and cash was one. I was told to be sure and tell the person helping me you will be paying cash !!! When I returned before I could tell the young man anything about how I would be paying HE HAD BILLED ME OUT AND WAS HANDING ME MY RECEIPT!!!!! Never once asking me how I would be paying!!!! Choose better employees. I was there the week before to rent a trailer. Trailer light did not work. Was told there were no employees on duty that had the ability to repair the lights. Had to walk all the way back in and then the trailer that was resigned was blocked in by another trailer. Had to walk all the way back into the store to get the employee to go out and move trailer. The next week was given the same trailer that the light was out on. Had to go all the way back into the store. Was given a different trailer. TRAILER WAS NOT EVEN THERE!!! Had to go all the way back in AGAIN. Told Danita that this trailer was not there. Asked for a refund and was told I could not get my money back immediately. My wife asked if s Danita could come outside and find the trailer. She went outside and looked around. After determining it was not there, she gave us another one. I've NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. I will NEVER come back to this facility again and am questioning even ever using U-haul again, which is a shame since I've used them for years and have never had so many problems with such lack of equipment, lack of proper employee training to repair equipment if it's down and lack of customer service.JOHN M.

I had an awful experience! I traveled from out of state and needed to return a 15" truck and auto transporter, as well as to rent a storage unit. Things took a turn for the worse as I needed help/guidance to get my car off the transporter. I was told that they would not be able to help due to policy. I was informed that they could get someone over to help but I would need to pay that person $20-$30 dollars. I felt as if I was being scammed out of money. I immediately got on the phone with customer service to schedule another location for drop off. I also canceled my storage unit and requested a refund (which I'm still waiting on the reversal to be applied to my account). The reason for this is because I didn't trust them, and I've never experienced this type of customer service from Uhaul. Uhaul has always been my go to for storage and moving needs. I reserve my unit online using the website. I was giving unit 0717 but upon arrival that unit was already taken. The associate inside the facility was very helpful and she was able to assigned me a new storage unit that wasn't assigned to no one else. She made the process very smooth and she was able to do it all while we loaded our items into the storage unit once we were finished loading up she came outside with the correct paperwork showing our new storage unit number. I am beyond happy with the service that she provided she was nice and helpful and she completed the task in a timely matter. See the reason why I waited this experience at excellent. The online process needs to be updated so another customer won't be assigned a storage unit that's already assigned to someone else God for bid if they came after hours wants to facility with clothes then they wouldn't be able to load the items into the storage unit plus they would have wasted all their time loading a uhaul for no reason.Toriano W. | Online Move In

One of the young ladies that assisted me was pleasant, the other had an unpleasant attitude. I was given one unit, and a lock was already on it. The unit I have has glue mouse traps all over so I can't use the space in the corners! Also I don't want mice in my belongings! I'm going to find somewhere else because this is disturbing and is also prohibiting me from full use of the space. The folks at the facility were fine. My displeasure is with corporate. My debit card was compromised and thus my automatic payment was declined and before I knew what had happened I was already fined and my back up person was contacted. No one bothered to see what the issue was, and it was my first occurrence . I have a high credit rating and rarely miss a payment on anything. Get your stuff together U-Haul. Bad truck with check engine light that popped on during a long trip between states. Didn't get the truck I originally reserved an entire MONTH in advance. The storage unit I requested a month in advance wasn't available either. There is a pandemic and THEY DIDNT CLEAN THE TRUCK AFTER THE PERSON BEFORE ME.
