Although this was a convenient location, I really wish our experience was better. We were not told or warned about the double pricing should we return the equipment after closing. Had we known, we would have returned the truck before the office closes. U-Haul really need to tell customers about price changes or penalties and such. If I can avoid doing business with U-Haul in the future, I will definitely do so since this is not the first time this same thing has happened.STEVEN R.

I dealt with 2 employees. The first (Alison?), was very nice, helpful, and professional. However, when I returned the van she turned the check out process over to a young man. He was exceedingly rude. I returned the van early, and with more gas in it than when I picked it up. He insisted on charging me a fuel surcharge anywY, even after I showed him the mileage and my fuel receipt. He said that he acknowledged that I had overpaid for gas, but he he was leaving the charge on my bill. I said :I just demonstrated that I put more gas in it then I used, and you're charging me anyway?" His exact response was "Yeah, pretty much". I don't care about the $6. I DO care about getting deliberately ripped off and disrespected. I will never use this location again. I frequently rent from Enterprise right up the street, and have always had a smooth transaction. I'm sticking with them from now on.Daniel B.

Both the manager Amanda and service representative Anthony were extremely friendly and efficient when assisting me with my rental today. The truck was ready upon arrival, cleaned, with a full tank of gas. Amanda and Anthony made it a truly great experience and I will use this location when I need a rental in the future. I gave this location an average rating because they were able to get me a truck. But, I will never rely on UHaul Company again. I reserved a 20 ft truck two weeks before my move. I arrived at my selected location (Hampden) at 7:30 am - my scheduled pick up time. There was no truck for me as they rented it out from under me the night before. Other people came in after me and drove off with trucks, but nothing could be done for me bc â€œmy truckâ€ still had not been returned. It was 10/31 so there were no trucks available virtually anywhere. About an hour and a half after my scheduled pick-up, I was told I'd have to go to Catonsville where The person that rented my truck decided to dump it. So I drive over there. Wait in another line (outside in the cold bc of COVID) all to find out there was no truck. And the Uhaul reps there did not care at all. After I got inside and explained what was going on, the guy working the desk basically put me off to the side and ignored me. After 20 min of just standing there and realizing this guy is not going to do anything, I call the manager at Hampden (who was the only one working to make the situation right) and he says he's found me a 15 foot truck in Owings Mills. I'm now over 2 hours behind with movers (I'm paying hourly) waiting for me to arrive. I get to Owings Mills and I'm told they have no trucks available. Of course they don't. It's the last day of the month. I start to lose it and suddenly they have a truck, which I appreciate. But the millennial processing the rental is totally insensitive to the situation and treats me like he's doing me a favor by giving me his employee discount on the rental. Then he tells me I have to drive the truck back to Owings Mills as soon as I finish (suggesting that night) which is an hour from my destination WHEN I RESERVED A ONE WAY RENTAL and was supposed to be able to drop it off locally. I ended up starting my move 3 1/2 hours late. I Lost my movers and had to scramble to get last minute help, which cost me 3x as much. Complete fail UHaul. The whole ordeal ruined what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life - moving into the new home I just purchased. Thanks.JULIE R.

The manager here was INCREDIBLE! He was so helpful and made the experience as easy as could be. Earlier in the morning, I had gone to get a truck at the Uhaul BP slade location and had the worst experience with the manager there, who refused to give me the van I ordered or the furniture dolly and furniture blankets I ordered (it was pouring rain) So, I went to the Owings Mills location all prepared for another bad experience, but instead, I had the BEST possible experience! The manager had the van available and ready when I got there, the dolly, blankets, and the furniture dolly. THANK YOU!!!AMY M.

I reserved a uhaul a month before moving this past weekend on 10/17/2020. I was contacted the Wednesday prior to this move stating that this location did not have the 20' one way truck I reserved a month prior. The call stated it was in Baltimore. I took an Uber to Baltimore to pick this up, the truck was not there. I took another Uber an hour away, the truck wasn't there - in fact - no one was there. Looked like a deserted location. I called the uhaul corporate number and was told that Owings Mills had a 10' truck but it was NOT one way. So, I got half the truck and was not able to drop it off an hour away where I moved to. This affected friends of mine, one of which is an Iraq war vet with PTSD and their children. This also made me end up having to hire movers, which I had not originally done so as to keep costs down. I will never be using uhaul again after this. This company is an absolute joke.Adam T.

The hitch connection to the ball was loose even when it was tightened as much as possible. Additionally, the rollup door became jammed and we had to take 30min+ to fix and untangle the cable.MARCUS H.

My experience at this U-Haul outlet was sensational. I was moving my daughter into her first apartment. We got off to a late start on the day of my scheduled equipment pick-up. By the time the team loaded up the truck and arrived at the apartment, the rental office was closed and my daughter was unable to get the keys, and was distraught. With the scheduled return of the U-Haul truck just hours away, I was stressed, as was my daughter. I immediately went back to the U-Haul outlet (with a truckload of stuff), explained the situation, and the Manager was extremely understanding and arranged for me to keep the truck an extra day. I was relieved and so was my daughter. I would recommend the U-Haul of Owings Mills to anyone. The staff there are "true" professionals with the customer in mind. The facility as well as the equipment are well maintained and the trucks are sanitized after each use. Thank you U-Haul of Owings Mills. You really made my life easier that day! J.T. Jr.julian T.
Staff at this location were very unprofessional and the environment was not friendly. It took them approximately 25 mins to locate keys that were left in a Dropbox location overnight (the night before). Staff engages in non work related conversations while I waited to be updated regarding the truck and drop off. I definitely would not recommend this location.NOELITA B.

1 worker was not wearing a mask and 1 was not wearing it properly. I tried to use the online pick-up but wad unable to complete because it would not let me adjust the gas level to the correct place. Had to go inside and ask someone to fix it on the paper contract. Anthony helped me and he was very nice. Had the online pick up service gone smoothly, I would have given this experience a 5. For real though, please make sure your customer service representatives wear their masks properly.Phi T.

I didn't get my truck I asked for. I was given another truck 2 hours late. I was promised $50 return warranty which didn't work occur. You guys dropped the ball at every possible turn.Mehmet D.
1. The only parking for cars was marked "15 Minute Parking", and customers are just supposed to know that they can park there. 2. There are two lockboxes, one is plain sight and one down some stairs and around a corner. The former doesn't work, so I had to ask the attendant for my key and she directed me to the other one. She seemed really annoyed at the question and I was annoyed that I choose contactless pick-up but I had to go in anyway.Anne J.

While the young lady at the front desk was very helpful, she was outside smoking when I arrived and also outside smoking when I dropped the truck off. Again she was very sweet, this is just not a good look for customers. I also did not select the additional coverage of 25.00 when I did the order online; however I was charged this additional coverage amount upon returning the truck. I plan to visit the store tomorrow to better understand why I was charged this coverage when I didn't request it!Chavolyee L.

The location we selected for mobile pickup, gave our truck away. We were compensated with extra miles but has to travel to Owings Mills to pickup a smaller truck- the only one available. It was inconvenient. But grateful to have gotten that one.Chamisa R.
The service I received during check out was good, although the actual van mileage and gas was entirely off on my contract. It checked out at 108 miles, but was 137 miles, which obviously would affect the gas, as well. However, the service from the employee and manager was excellent. It was not until I returned the van that the service I received was below average and unacceptable. The person there on Sunday was rude, argumentative, aggressive and condescending. I observed her conversations with customers prior to serving me and hoped I would not have the same experience. No luck! She back pedals her statements once she is questioned and evidence of her untruth is presented. I listened to this happen with myself and the two customers ahead of me. Josh Echardt was the customer directly before me. You may want to contact him. I felt horrible for the way she spoke to him and lied over and over and pushed blame on other UHaul staff, as if no one could possibly comprehend her behavior. This location is less than 3 miles from my current address, yet I will never bring my money back to this place because of her. No one wants to be barked at but another dog.Wanda B.
Inside truck bed needed to be swept (which I did), but also washed out. Floor was sticky and Really dirty, which got on the bottom of our boxes and then smeared on our new carpet when we put the boxes down.Roy C.
I would have given this location 5 stars because the service and the cargo van we rented were very good. However, when we returned our van on Sunday morning, there was only 1 person behind the counter doing all of the returns, checking the vehicles AND answering the phone calls that were coming in!!! I don't blame her, I blame UHaul for not having enough people to help all of the customers who showed up on Sunday. This is the busiest time of the year for moving and you had 1 person at this busy location. I blame management for this oversight.Oliver J.

The staff was knowledgeable and professional. My only problem was the phone check in. I ended up having to check in via the counter. The phone check in is everything but CONVENIENT!!! After four failed attempts I ended up going inside, the whole phone process to the counter took more than 39 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable!!geron W.
Although the truck was clean it had a huge sticker on the driver's side window that blocked my view unless I rolled the window down, which was hard to do because the roll part of the handle was missing. The online truck return was also very difficult. I had to repeat the process 10-12 times and take pictures each time and was then taken back to the beginning each time. Furthermore, when it finally accepted the transaction, a cleaning fee was charged and I only had the truck for about 3.5 hours and did not eat anything in it. Please remove this fee. ThanksTalibah A.

Hire better manager than Angela. She was a very rude, obnoxious person with no people person etiquette skills. Cameras need to be installed to see how she interacts with customers. She argues, has a terrible disposition, rolls her eyes, sucks her teeth, has short smart Alex statements and is very rude. I will never use this location nor will I refer anyone to this place because of her. I filed a formal complaint against her. I hope it will be addressed.Teresa J.
When we arrived the agent was outside smoking. She asked if we had a reservation. Then went inside to verify. She told me I elected for online check in and I should have a code in my inbox to get the keys from the lockbox. I wasn't 100% sure if I elected for online or not but I went along with it. I went through that process. While doing that she came and put a key in the lockbox. I still saw no code for the lockbox. After 10 minutes or so, I went back inside to ask for help and no one was in the store. I noticed I just had the truck number so I went to the truck. As I approached, I see her and she asks if I need help. Then says, â€œhere's your truck now press continue.â€ We check out the truck and follow instructions on the app THEN we are given a code to get the key. We walk back to the mailbox and it's the same key she just put in the lockbox in front of us. That was a complete waste of time in my honest opinion. If the key wasn't in the box, why not just verify my ID and payment method instead of sending me in the wrong direction?Kimberly J.
