Truck was absolutely filthy inside the cab. THere was small bits of garbage from the last customer(s) on the floor including food bits, chips or cracker like things. I know it is a work truck but I rent UHauls very year and have never had a cab so dirty. I spent 15 minutes wiping down the steering wheel dash and arm rest area..you could see the black streaks of dirt and grime. THe back cab was also full of wood chips and bits of left over small bits of packing or whatever from the last customer. When I returned the truck I saw the sign in the back that said "save the $25 service fee if you fold the blankets and sweep the floor" I was worried that they were going to charge me for the mess but fortunately they did not. I had issues with the online process to pick up my truck and the amount of gas in the truck was below 1/4 tank. When I spoke to the general manager on-site Benjamin Howell, he told me to just take the truck and to come back with my receipt so he could reimburse me. When I came back, he went back on his word and when I asked him for an explanation, he told me to email him so we could discuss further because he was too busy at the time. Three weeks later, I still have had no return, even after 2 follow ups! Really not impressed with the customer service! Also, still haven't received an official receipt and the online portal is still only showing the equipment contract and preauthorized charges, but my credit card was billed a different amount.Vicki T.
After doing the paperwork for a reserved trailer I waited 20 minutes in my truck in the rain in the yard waiting to get hooked up. Not a soul around. Called and then went into the office. I was told maybe he'd gone for lunch. WTF?? A guy came out, no apology hooked me up but didn't say I was good to go. Have the customer service representative explain Cleary the different charges that are being put on your car. Also, if you are driving a short distance within town, there should be a certain number of km's for free. Online pick ups process is actually more time consuming than going to the counter. Also locating the truck in a yard with dozens of similar trucks is not easy. It would be helpful if the app could point me to a specific area in the yard.Michel T.

Arranged for online pick-up but received no instructions on-line how to do it. Arrived at the location and attendant outside said I had to check-in at the desk. I asked about the online check-in and he was not aware of it. So waited in line and arrived at the desk and was told there was a sign outside telling me where to log in. I didn't see the sign so I guess I'm the stupid one which was clearly the implication of the clerk's tone of voice and manner. Oh, and by the way, we don't have any of the dollies you reserved, sorry. Actually, she didn't say "sorry". Reminded me immediately of the Seinfeld bit where the car rental lady gives away the car he'd reserved and as he's explaining the point of reserving something, she says "I know what a reservation is" to which Seinfeld replies "No, I don't think you do". Do you understand what making a reservation means? Through the whole thing the staff's attitude seemed, "Hey I just work here. You want a truck, suck it up." I guess you can treat customers like that when you have a virtual monopoly but I just found out Home Depot rents trucks now. Will be trying them next time. Expect I won't be the only oneJames P.

When you walk through the door there's just â€œstuff everywhereâ€. When I got to the service counter; the gentleman helping me just complained about how everyone they worked with was incompetent. The duration of my time in the store was spent listening to two employees go back and for about how they didn't have the furniture cart from my online order and how the fridge dolly wasn't checked in because another employee didn't know how to receive items. It really showed a lack of professionalism and general tact which discourages repeat business. The fridge cart appeared brand new and the truck was clean, however baddy beaten on the exterior. This is not the Coventry location's fault, but we ordered a u-Box to be stored there for us and when we arrived we were told we had to drive to a further location from our apartment because they did not provide this service. I do not blame Coventry, but I called uHaul FIVE times to confirm my reservation, and people should be aware that Coventry does not provide this service before confirming with me that everything was set to go!!!Adam P.

I requested self check-in and a 7am pick-up. When I arrived, the truck I had been assigned was in the back of your parking lot, behind at least 4 other trucks. It was impossible to get this truck out myself. I would have arrived much earlier had I known I needed to stand in a line and receive help from your employees. Change to a centralised pick-location resulting in a very long waiting line (45 mins) only two service counters opened, my reserved â€œdollyâ€ unavailable. The scan and go is a lie, I filled up the truck as always but realized that I had to returned at 3/4 tank my fault should read all documents carefully , no refund allowed costed approximately 40$ extra. The return process was slow. Overall very poor!!!!!!! Not happy at all, this sentiment was shared by all customers in the waiting line. Your company is taking advantage of the customer. Check in was horrendous. I got there at 7:50 and was the eleventh person in line. There was one person working the desk on the first Sautrday of the month. I finally completed check in at 9:20. The location was short staffed, resulting in a 1.5hr wait time to return my ready to go boxes. Additionally, the return process was minimal effort for your representative. I would suggest that you add checking in and out "ready to go" boxes to your web apps. This will allow customers to access this phenomenal product without waiting in line on either end and will reduce administrative overhead so that your staff can focus on serving customers who cannot use their phones to manage their truck bookings.Zachary S.

The comments are related to the "Southkeys Tires & Brakes 2638 Mac St " location. I made a U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 reservation from the above location for a 9' Cargo Van on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 6:30 PM. When I arrived at the place trying to pick up the van, the application was showing an error with a message that "some equipment is not set for this vehicle, ask for assistance". The location was close at 6:30 and nobody was there to help me. I was in the line for the support telephone for about 20 minutes and I was informed that there was a human error and there is no keys for me to pick up the car. So they sent me to the closest store to pick up another car. As a result, I had to take an Uber to the further distance which was another unexpected cost for me. I arrived at the "383 Coventry Rd" location and wasted another 20 minutes reserving another van. So I could not get to the elevator reservation time that I had for my new place. I had the worst first experience with Uhaul. And it caused a lot of expenses for me, financially and emotionally.Bita O.

This location is seriously short of staff and the worker is EXTREMELY slow with the service. There are over 10 groups of people waiting in line and there's only 1 worker available at the desk. After waiting for 45 minutes, the worker told me my reserved hand truck is not available. He said that without even checking the inventory in store. I had to direct him to an available hand truck in store so he could rent it to me. Overall, had an awful experience here.Jenny Z.

Dear U-Haul team , i have few comments but overall wont affect the 5 stars or my opinion . * truck ( 8' pick up truck ) not clean as it should be from inside . * they gave me the paper and no one gave me the keys for the truck i thought its already there but i had to come around and take them * i have reserved for 12 hours but they keep asking me in the office that i will return it by 11 right ? And they changed the drop to 11 pm , i am not gonna leave it till 3 am ( 3 pm pick up time ) but there is a reason i have reserved for 12 hours and i have mentioned that for them .Walid A.

Despite Checking in online - there was a 50 min wait. 3 of 4 service kiosks were open. The staff at the kiosks and outside were friendly but clearly understaffed, running off their feet and dealing with pretty impatient customers. tough environment for them. 2x Staff outside - were really friendly but completely overwhelmed with the volume of customers. First trailer had a bent arm and inside staff said it was ok to take it anyway - I refused to tow it and they gave me another one.Hugh G.

Bunch of lyers Returned my rental. Is see an over charged on my credit card which I expected as I drove 20 km extra so in total I did 100 km bang on. They said I did 105 miles and charged me 1.43 $ per mile when it says it is 89 cents per km. I was served by the Manager who was very negative and frustrated with his coworkers and the lineup of customers waiting for reservations. My entire time checking out my rental, the Manager serving me would sigh, not hear my questions because he would keep talking into the radio app on his phone, did not explain much of my rental, and also said sorry you're out of luck when I pre reserved a utility dolly. I understand work gets hard, busy, and certain items may not be available but his rudeness ruined the start of my day. Horrible customer service.Nicole L.

Unprofessional stuff. Ruined my move into a new home. Picked up truck at 6:30pm explained I'm going to furniture store to get sofa and I'm coming back to get my stuff from the storage and I specifically asked if I'm ok to access the storage after 7pm closing time and I was told that's fine. On my big surprise I couldn't access the storage cuz they put a second lock that I didn't have a key for. Had to turn around and leave plus send home friends that came to help. Next morning I asked manager Ben again why is this happening. His answer was there's no access to the storage after 7pm....the evening before he said opposite. I will never recommend Uhaul Storage to anyone and have reported you to the Better Business Bureau and have thoroughly detailed the fraudulent business pertaining to your insurance coverage. I have been told this is not an isolated incident and that this is entrenched in how Uhaul conducts themselves. I am the Director of Communications for a $15 Billion CPG company and will also be reaching out to my national media contacts across Canada to share my story in hopes that I can save someone else from renting through Uhaul and save them from thousands of dollars in damages, too. On top of not properly maintaining the drainage system at the facility, Uhaul does nothing to mitigate vermin and instead just traps the ones they find, does not dispose of their carcasses, and does not care that they run rampant across the storage facility. Moving out was very stressful given the fact that the parking lot was a mess. To make matters worse my brother and I were asked to push some uhaul units out of the way by hand in the rain. Lineup inside was really long and nif moving. I would never use uhaul ever again. I have friends that have stored with Dymon storage and they are extremely happy with everything across the board.
