We originally rented a truck from the Florham Park NJ rental site. We get there and they said we had no trucks and we needed to go to the Orange location. Florham Park office was very indifferent to the hardship this was causing. So what should have taken 15 minutes to get the truck turned into over hour with extra travel and distance. The Orange location was great. They were very helpful! Sign in and sign out was the best we have ever had in renting trucks. The location was the largest I have ever seen but they were on top of there game. They turned a bad situation into a great experience.Robert V.

they told me the gas gauge said 5/8th of a tank and to retun it that way and that the milage was 85497 but as i left the mile turned turned to 98 after only a few feet (not a big deal there is no 10th of a mile on the gauge) and the gas gauge went to a little over the 1/2 tank mark when the vehicle was on level ground and i filled it up past the 5/8th mark in the fear they would charge me for not bringing it back on the 5/8th mark it was between the 5/8th mark and the 3/4 mark when brought back which cost me an extra 5 dollars so i feel like i was over charged by 6 dollars plus tax so if you really care about my experience and want to make it better you would refund me the 6 plus dollars and i would feel really great about your concerns for my having a excellent experience and see that you really care about your customers thank you respectfully submitted mark chase do you really read these i hope to find out soonMark C.

I had a very good experience overall --excellent maintenance of the facility and helpful and professional staff. However, billing was oftentimes erratic and inconsistent, resulting in over-charges that required personally contacting UHaul to try to fix. For example, most recently, after announcing a rate increase for a unit (3502), charges for the new amount started BEFORE the increase was supposed to take place. Sometimes charges went in twice. This location is conenient, and the staff is helpful, but my experience (receiving a vehicle with a non-working right turn signal) tells me that they need to do a safety check before giving equipment to customers. The van I got had under 9K miles when I received it, so I did not suspect that the turn signal would actually be malfunctioning--but, as I much later discovered, the bulb was not in correctly. The problem probably originated somewhere much before I got the vehicle. I am glad I was able to complete my trip safely. . . This was a big safety hazard.Dana M.

I rent from here frequently. Normally, the gas level is off by about an eighth of a tank. Not a big deal, but considering that the app freezes when you try to correct it, it's a real pain. This most recent time, though, the gas tank was empty. When I started the truck, it said it had 28 miles' worth of gas in it. Ten feet later, when I was on level ground, that switched to 10 miles' worth. It is absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible to assign a truck that can barely make it to the gas station.William S.

This is a review of Uhaul, and not specifically this location. I booked a storage unit with one location. I had a reservation and a set price at 89.99 plus tax and insurance. When I arrived (225 Long Ave), a sign on the door said that it was closed and to call a number. I called and they told me to go to another location (1000 Sherman). I did. When I got there, after waiting a while, the person told me that the location wasn't open at all and I could get a smaller unit with them for a lot more money ($125). I left and called Uhaul. The person on the phone was confused that the location was closed. She said it didn't make sense. Finally, she figured out that it was a new location and it wasn't yet open for business. For some reason, I was still able to make a reservation for it though for a date when it wasn't open. I ended up paying a lot more for a unit at a different place. So, it was a disaster. I really would expect to get the benefits of having a large chain, namely, that they would honor the price for when I booked. It seems like it's more a series of independent places that kind of work together, not at all as good. The person on the phone was helpful, and the place it's at is fine, but this was a mess so beware of this kind of thing with Uhaul.Joe A. | First Impressions
