The trailer popped off the hitch going 45 on the freeway at 9pm. We had to call 911 to slow traffic so we could get out and put the trailer back on. Calked uhaul finally they said they can send someone out to take a look at 10pm. Someone to come take a look at the trailer at 11pm. He took a quick look and said looks fine to me. We told him we do not want to deal with trailer anymore and he can take it back to uhaul. He told me well I can't take it unless uhaul okays it. So I called uhaul. Only on the phone with them for 5 min. The man gets in his car and leaves us. I call uhaul again asking if we just take it tovthe nearest uhaul because there guy that was supposed to help us left its now 11:30. I'm told that's fine but you will be charged a WRONG LOCATION FEE. I said oh no. I'm not comfortable driving over an hour with this thing. They said okay just take it to the nearest uhaul and let us know where it's dropped off. I give them all that information. I drop it off. Next morning I call asking when they will mark the trailer as taken in... im told THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED AND IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SHUT DOWN!!! But the will get a manager out there when they are available. The following day.. I get a bill of $170 something... im so upset. My husband is in the military and we are just trying to move. My experience with uhaul has been hectic. I will be calling and filing a formal complaint.

The trailer was not secured to the hitch and the trailer fell off of the hitch ball. Not good.

One man was very rude and told me there was no parking in the lot, but I was picking up a trailer. The other people were friendly. His coworkers acknowledged how rude he was. Then, I was charged $20 for after hours service but I returned the trailer before it was due, at 3:00 pm, plenty early within the day.

When we picked up our truck they were really busy we picked up a truck that had just gotten checked in so nothing was locked down as far as hand trucks and furniture dollies go.

The gas cap was broken when I picked up the truck. I didn't realize until after I drove away. Due to this, I was unable to add gas to complete my move. I called roadside assistance and submitted photos, but I never heard back. I had to call again, waiting more than an hour to talk to a person. Two hours later someone came to fix the cap. This was a terrible customer experience. When I asked for a discount for all my troubles, I was denied. I would not recommend U-haul.

Been there multiple times now and never have enough staff to help. Always have long wait time and poor employees are torn in a million directions so nothing gets completed correctly or in order. Need more helpers especially when know it's busy time.

the entire move from asheville to oceanside was wrought with complications. i reserved Oceanside, no one told me that it would be help in San Clemente. then they "arranged" it to go to oceanside and charged me more money, but it still went to San Clemente. when i had questions along the way, no one at the national service number could find or access my files? Glad to have this move over. communication could be more clear.

Serious staff shortage it seems. Ordered 2 dollies, only one was in the truck. Didn't t order pads, but there were 10 in the truck. (Was credited at the end thank goodness). The truck sounded very rough, maybe transmission issues. We were only moving 2 miles, so I wasn't too worried. The good part...online process and ore-check in was excellent.

I was overcharged for the rental as the truck return was not processed by the staff until 2 days after I returned it. I received no reply to my enquiry email and will have to call to clear up the issue.

The drop off location should STATE THAT IT IS NOT FOR TRAILER DROP OFF. If I would have dropped it off by myself it would have rolled in the middle of the road and hit something or someone. And im sure yall would have blamed me.

1. Your website would not allow me to return truck through the online method after hours. Then you turned around and charged me $20 in fees. That's on your end! 2. You charged me $7 for a utility dolly that I never used. The zip-tie was never on that dolly when I picked it up...that's on your end! I didn't touch that dolly. 3. You claim that I left the truck's gas short 1.7 gallons? What are you talking about? The gauge was exactly in the same spot one-tick above quarter of a tank. I have photo documentation. Conclusion: I was charged $40 extra on this transaction ($20 plus, $7 plus, $8 in gas, plus taxes) for no good reason. I have spent a ton of money this year with Uhaul..look it up. Very disappointed!

Location is legit and not so mom and pop. Which is rad, but the calls go through call center and I was sent to the wrong location. I arrived and internet was being serviced (after weirdo rep didn't acknowledge me for a legit 5 minutes), and I waited 20 minutes for service to be restored to find my reservation wasn't there. So I went to correct place and though I was way behind schedule the rest went great. Wish I could just deal with the team.

The gentleman that checked me back in when I returned my u-haul was super helpful and nice. I didn't get his name but he was tall with blonde hair. I would come back based on his great attitude alone.

I tried calling at least 8-10 times prior to picking up the trailer. No one ever answered, the calls were always forwarded. I had questions about accessories needed for my car and wanted to make sure they had what I needed. Had to drive to location, which could have been avoided if they just answered their phone.

I rented a 15 foot truck to pick up an item that was 5.3 miles from the Uhaul location. My house is less than .2 miles from the Uhaul location. I picked up the truck and upon arriving at my destination realized that the roll up door was locked and the key provided did not open it. They told me they would not charge me for the mileage to return and pick up the correct key. I went back, got the key, and returned to my destination. As a result, what should have been an 11 mile round trip turned into a 22 mile round trip. When I returned the truck the GM of this location informed me I had driven 56 miles. I told him that was incorrect, and showed him my exact route. He agreed to lower the mileage to 20 or so. So in the end he still charged me for my extra mileage, even though it was his fault. Then he said it wasn't his job to check the mileage and made it seem like I had done something wrong even though I was inconvenienced by his incompetence and overcharged. Even though it is close, I will never return to this location. There's a Penske just down the street and they have never provided me with poor customer service like this. If I can help it, I will not use Uhaul again.

Not much you can do given client base. Rented a pickup truck, could smell faint cigarette smoke which forced us to keep windows cracked.
