For Uhaul corporate. Don't call 5 hours before to tell me the conditions have changed on the rental. Also, don't put someone on hold for 50 minutes and have someone answer every 5 minutes to tell me this is the wrong department and transfer me to the wrong department again only to be cut off after 50 minutes.Michael G.

1. I lacked a truck at Aurora due to overbooking and the manager was hard on me when I tried explain my emergency - avail more trucks there. 2. I wanted a one-way truck from Oakville to Markham but realized I have to book 4 months in advance - why? 3. Everything else is perfectWycliffe N.

Smooth pick-up and drop off but despite receiving an email that I was guaranteed the truck and furniture dolly included in my reservation, I was told that the furniture dolly is first come, first serve and was not available. I was offered an appliance dolly which I accepted but was not helpful or really used in the move, seeing as the guaranteed furniture dolly wasn't available - I would not of expected to be charged the full cost of the appliance dolly but rather the cost of the furniture dolly, which was NOT the case. Also, completely changing the reservation after the fact is not acceptable. Reservations online should match the capacity for reserved locations online. My one way reservation was changed to a two way which ultimately cost me more money for mileage and was extremely inconvenient.Susan P.

This location has become a bit chaotic. Pick up and drop area is to narrow and lacks adequate parking. Understaffed, length of time to pick up is generally too long and sometimes equipment has not been cleaned. Finding equipment is a hassle. it's convenient for us, so we use it, but would rather rent from Royal Windsor location whenever possible.Joe T.

I booked a reservation for a rental truck on Tuesday and received email confirmation that I would be picking up the vehicle at 6:30 AM Saturday, April 30th. When I signed in online to pick up the truck, I received a message that I would have to wait for the location to open at 7:00AM. As a result I did not pick up the truck until 7:15AM and was told that I would still have to return the vehicle by 10:30. I did not have the vehicle for the whole 4 hours that I had paid for and booked and was charged the full amount. The entire experience was incredibly frustrating and completely inconvenienced my moving schedule, and the manager at the location was unwilling to assist. I would like to speak to someone as I do not believe I should have been charged for the full amount of renting the vehicle.Emily S.
1) For your online system, include tax when clients want to pay in advance. It was surprising to discover that I had to pay the tax only when picking up the car. 2) Also, provide an option to upload driver's licence picture in advance and from the photo library. My rental from the Royal Windsor and Winston Churchill location was not available when I arrived. They helped get me a truck from another location but I had to drive further and was an hour late by the time it was sorted out. I am sure the person who did not return the first truck on time was charged extra for the extra time. I expect something from uHaul for the extra effort and time this cost me.Peter B.

Since the pre-rental admin (online) is so exhaustiveâ€"AND a pre-arrival Check-in is offeredâ€"the facility should have already selected, cleaned & prepped the equipment. The customer should be able to drive straight to the trailerâ€¦hook it up (with help and/or verification by the yard worker)â€¦and drive away. It should not be necessary to parkâ€¦enter the officeâ€¦wait in line for other customers to be assisted (and/or for employees to get off the phone)â€¦and then submit a CC *again*.Ron S.

I have always received Great Service from this location and in a very timely manner. But, something that is well beyond any locations control is the size of todays Pickups in the U-Hauls Fleet. I completely understand the Companies rational in procuring vehicles that will be rugged enough to withstand the punishment customers put them through. I gather most in the fleet are at least 3/4 ton. But, since todays pickup Trucks have become so tall, one virtually needs a Step Ladder to access the Drivers Compartment. The rear Box section is an altogether different experience. Most new models have steps built into the bumpers, for supposed easier access. That maybe OK if one lives in a warm Southern Climate, but up here in a Northern one, using these steps can be a Death Wish. Since we do still get Winters up here, they can be covered with either Frozen Ice or Snow. Right about now your most likely thinking to yourself a couple of things, First this writer should think about moving to a warmer climate and if so, please rent one of our Trucks the the move.Reed W.

When I dropped off the trailer the employee in the office didn't record the time, I spoke with him he was sitting in front of a computer. I've had phone calls since asking when it had been returned. Temperature was turned down making it very cold on the second floor. Blowing in insulation made no difference to warm the second floor that was now around 50DegC the temperature made sorting through archives is difficult (can not ware gloves) . Plus the billing credit from prepaying a unit and downsizings seemed to be a mystery. The previous management kept it warm on the sevens floor and billing and upgrades and down grades were never an issue. They always accommodated my needs.scott h. | Overall Experience

You may bring the vehicle around instead of sending the customer walking to the back of the compound in 15 Centimeters of snow to try & locate a van amongst many others. A clear windshield free of heavy snow would also be a welcome idea. The improper tire pressure indicator means the driver cannot see the Kilometer indicator! To do so you'd have to switch the engine off & then turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Only then you can see the mileage on the vehicle. Pleasant agents.BEHNAM S.
The van was parked at area surronded with two foot of snow; I had go in and clean the windshield from 5 inches of snow and scrubb the ice; there was not enough gas only quarter tank so had to fill gas at start and end of trip (two stops for gas); I could have given a similar van from the front row but the counter attendent preferred to let the customer do their job and clean one more van from the back of the line.YASSER K.

It is my first experience renting a truck. The cabin was too dirty and smell awful (sweat) ...like not be cleansed in months. Also the side mirrors were frozen (reasonable due to winter) but make driving safety too difficult. I could not move them to my seating position.Francisco S.
First van assigned was blocked in and had to go back to get another. Then the second van had scratches and dents in it that weren't in the pictures when doing the check before leaving. When starting the van there was a message on the dashboard saying pressure was low in right rear tire. Went back to office where I was told I could either switch vans again or just drive that one. Once I had loaded all my stuff from my move in the van the battery was dead and I had to get jump start the van. Overall very disappointed in my whole experience with Uhaul.CHRISTINE O.

I couldn't use the storage unit because the day I was moving my things the elevator wasn't working. Using the stairs wasn't an option, as some of the boxes were heavy. IT payment system is very dated not being able to process cash debit even credit payments properly. Declining payment for no reason all due to processing glitches caused a delay of one hour plus to get a rental once I went to pk up a cargo van. I reserved a vehicle at a different U-Haul outlet, and arrived to find they didn't have it available. Apparently mechanical issues took it off line. So they sent me to a different centre. Time, hassle and inconvenience. And the truck I eventually got was dirty, had snow in the back (it was an enclosed van) and had under 1/4 tank of fuel.DAVIDB K.

The tire inflation light was on advising that one of the tires required air. I was not told when I booked the vehicle that I would be charged a per kilometer fee. Uhaul as a whole is very disorganized. I had to fight with different reps to get my locker and my drop off location at the same location without being charged $2000 extra. The original storage unit that was provided was supposed to be a 10x10 - when I arrived on-site it had been split into two 5x10. When we went to look at the unit, it was just too small, very inconvenient and too far on the inside of the building. My experience was a very disappointing one. When I reached the facility, I found a lock on my allocated unit. When I went to the customer service desk, I was passed on from one rep to another (4 total) and finally the response was the system double booked my unit. I was not offered a similar unit (due to availability) and instead I was given 2 half units instead. Funny enough, when I went back to the warehouse to locate my units, one of them also had a lock on!! My only thing that wasn't perfect was the difference between my online experience and the counter. I spent some time double checking things with live chat and felt that since I spent more then an hour double checking my reservation I would just go to the counter and double check again and be on my way. The excellent employee spent a lot of time going over the things that I had already went over, since I didn't bring my computer I diidn't have quick answers to every single question, all i wanted was to get what I had spent the time reserving. After 45 minutes of questions I got the rental, if the reservation email had the instruction to bring all those questions i would have, I don't get why I was reminded to bring some info and not all the required inf. I had to take a call as that process was ridicuously long, and the person left me to explain another customers bill. That other customer was being rude and boy I felt those rude urges in me since my online work was pointless. Assuming I didn't do that online work I would say what a great team and building, there was an annoying customer in the building and the team kept there composure and was great with me and my helper, she gave me my first months rent free, I like how they get along with each other and me and my friend, they walked with me to show the keypad which i would have had to gone back and ask for help, all around they are pros and I will come back for the next move.. The most disappointing experience ever considering I heard good things about their services. Not only were they not accommodating and rude every time I came in or call, they didn't listen to a thing we ask, was very unhelpful, and very reluctant to do anything, especially during such a tough year. Not to mention, when renting their trucks, they didn't explain about the mileage you can't go over and only disclose this after we return the vehicle, making us not able to get our deposit back. Moving is already stressful enough, but add on to the added stress from some hidden clause that wasn't disclose is unacceptable. If this was explained ahead of time, we would've paid attention to it. The service at this location was very poor. I did not book with Uhaul storage because of the employee Zachaure Cloutier. This employee was very rude and unhelpful. Despite the manager asking him to accommodate my needs and providing me with a storage space more appropriate to load/unload my furniture he refused. UHaul exceeded ALL my expectations! One of the most professional, friendly and accommodating experiences I've had in a long time. I had a difficult situation to deal with and the team at Oakville in particular Melanie Andrew dealt with it and helped me through every step of the way. Being good at customer service is one thing in isolated incidents but achieving service excellence over a period of time is difficult, not for this team. They consistently excelled! I can only deduce that this level of service is central to the UHaul culture. At 8 pm 2 weeks ago -The facility did not assist with the investigation when a customer was physically attacked at the Woody Oakville location. The police were called & involved and perpetrator was arrested 7 days later. The facility did not assist in retrieving camera footage_claiming only one camera was working for the entire facility and only caught the beginning of the altercation. This facility was chosen as it claims to have 24-Hour Video Monitoring-untrue. Nonetheless Miranda & Zachery were extremely helpful and knowledgeable but the "manager" David did not seemingly care nor take any notes about the incident or trauma suffered by the victim . The victim had been transported to Trafalgar Oakville Hospital via ambulance from the UHaul Woody Oakville Location the previous evening after the assault. She is still recovering from the assault.
