No problem at all in North Port. Instead of going to Surry, ME, it went to Brunswick, ME, contrary to the contract, and I was not notified of the change. Had I personally not persisted, the box would not have made the deadline to Surry. Although the people to whom I spoke were friendly for the most part, this created a lot of inconvenience for me, including multiple phone calls and time spent tracking the box, scheduling timely delivery, speaking to the gentleman in Surry, and in Brunswick, etc. When we first found the u-Box concept, I was excited about what a great idea/value it was. I am not sure that I would want to repeat this experience, however, due to u-haul's sloppiness and inconvenience.John S.

Rented a dolly, drove 2 hrs to go pick up car only to realize the jack for the straps were broken, and I wasn't able to tie down the car, wasted a 4 hr trip and on top of the fact that when I went to return it the person helping me unload it wanted to charge me full price and I wasn't okay with it so she gave me $10 discountâ€¦ I got a broken dolly, that I couldn't use, and still pay for it.VLAD K.

A walk around was not offered, and I did not think of it. I subsequently noticed a rear outer tire side wall gash, though it did not cause an issue. Subsequently I noticed a dent under driver's mirror bracket, though it was marked with the #8. I called you-haul to inform them and also the drop off U-Haul. Drivers door was broken and needed to be slammed to get it to latch. The climate controlled storage shed is in the corner of the building. There is damage to building so you can see sunlight coming in at ground level which means flooding will happen when it rains.RACHEL D.

I had reserved a storage unit online. When I arrived there, they had no record of me having reserved a spot. I told the associate I had estimated that I would be there the previous day. He said that is why he didn't see me in their system. He calmed down, at this point, and the frustration showing on his face disappeared. He said I was taken out of the system because I wasn't there the previous day, and the size unit I needed is very much in demand. (This procedure should be made very clear to the customer - very prominent - put in neon lights, if you will.) The associate fixed me up, nicely, with the unit I needed and explained everything in detail. I had to drop off my truck by Sunday at 9 a.m. I arrived at 8 a.m. The place wasn't open. It was fenced in with a sliding gate, locked, at the entrance. I parked the truck out front and put the keys on the floor. I called the number, at 9 a.m., that was given on their printed form; thinking I would be calling directly to the office at the drop off location. WRONG! It was a general customer service number. I had wanted to contact the office personnel to tell them I had already dropped off the truck but had to tell the general customer service person. She put me on hold, so she could call the location, directly, to alert them to my situation. They weren't picking up her calls. She said she would make a note of my situation in my account. What did I get for my troubles in trying to do the right thing? A $28.52 charge. After seeing that charge on my credit card, I called that general number again. The customer service person said I should have gone on a mobile link that directs you how you're supposed to return the truck properly and put the key in a drop box, and blah, blah, blah, blah. They have you jumping through all kinds of cyber/virtual hoops just to return a truck. Really?? And, the kicker is there was no accessible drop box at the location. It had a locked, sliding gate, attached to high fencing on both sides of it, preventing anyone from getting onto the grounds. AGAIN, the return procedure should be very prominent - broadcast far and wide - to the customer. Word to the wise: Do not rent from Uhaul!! They switch things around on you, and they have very confusing policies. They should make these all very prominent, so the customer knows what he is up against.Keith C.

The team seems to be under staffed. They were super friendly, however they seemed over worked to me. Hire atleast 1 more team member for every busy location you have. North port is one of the fastest growing city's in the U.S. You should really hire more help!WALTER Z.
I think I was charged an extra day rental because I was 1-2 hours after my drop off time. My drop time was 4:00pm and I got to the drop off between 5:30-6:00. If this is how you do business, this will be my last UHaul rental!Phillip R.

This was an absolute nightmare. We initially rented storage and a truck. When my husband got to the location to get the truck and view storage the manager told him he didn't have anything for us. He waited an hour for the truck and then to be told that there was no storage but he would try to figure it out. We heard nothing back from the manager until after I called and told U-Haul the situation and extended my truck rental since we didn't have storage. No one on the phone seems to care that our experience was so horrible. I could keep going about how we were charged for the storage that we didn't even get and how we were just told too bad . Why would I pay almost 2000$ for a truck if I had storage. I feel we were lied to just so U-Haul could get extra money from us and now we have to fight to get it back.dyllan R.

No process was really great. I thought it was going to be much more difficult. The North Port U-Haul storage center was extremely busy, and they had a lot of vehicles and trailers so much so that at one point I was almost unable to get to my storage unit. I was able to get to the unit, by driving slowly and watching my mirrors. This is not a bad thing but it does say that they need more land and storage space for their vehicles and trailers. my only negative is I wish there was another exit /entrance for the back and/or that the lanes were bigger or basically not blocked all the time by either Uhall trucks and trailers or other people using their units. it was sometimes impossible to get to my unit and i only went there maybe 6 times in the 2 years i had the unit. I had another unit at this location before, it was right by the return area and even though it was up front i still had issues getting to it because there was a returned Uhaul truck there. other than that, all good.Lori W. | Overall Experience

We had a confirmed reservation (Reservation #:830027-00107295) for a 10 x 20 unit. The reservation was made almost a month in advance for a cross country move. When we arrived we were casually told there was no 10 x 20 units available as if it was no problem! The best they could do was 2 - 10 x 10 separate units. And to add insult to injury we are now going to be charged $129.99 a month for each ($259.98 total) rather than the $179.99 for the same amount of space. But standing at the counter with a full truck and movers on the way, what choice did we have? Doesn't seem fair we pay more every month for inconvenient, separated, spaces due to U-Haul not being able to honor their commitment. Felt like a classic Bait and Switch.Tad J. | First Impressions

The parking lot for that particular location is horrible. They store/park too many vehicles there and you can’t maneuver a large truck around there easily. I always felt like I was going to either hit my truck or one of their buildings. It would have been easier if they didn’t store so many in front of peoples storage units. This was the first time that I had a bad experience with a uhaul storage unit. This place from the get go looks very old and run down, the only reason I didn't turn around and leave first thing is cause I already booked it before ever seeing the place and I had first month free. I purchased climate controled so my things would stay in good condition but this was the worst version of climate control I've dealt with, every time I visited the unit didn't feel very cool at all and after a few months I see that my things are molding. I've never had a climate controlled unit mold my belongings before so I left this bad experience of a storage unit and as I was checking out, I find it that the AC for my unit building was broke for some time and that they finally fixed it. It would have been really nice for whom ever runs this location to let the people who have units know that they are having problems so that they can decide whether they want to change units or move out so things don't get bad but instead nothing war said and now I'm sorting through things with mold on them cause of their greed I'm guessing on not wanting to lose business.
