It's not fair to rate this location low but how else do I express my disappointment that the day of our pick up we were notified that our truck was not available at our prosper site. What is the point of a reservation you can't honor. The fact that we had to drive considerably out of our way to get a back up was in no way acceptable. We also found out the day before that our mover help couldn't accommodate our timing that we shared a couple of weeks ago. Why didn't we hear that the day we made the reservation? Again, what is the point of reservations that are not honored? For our next move, we will look for other options.MELODY H.

I just picked up a utility trailer, An employee hooked up the trailer, I trusted his professional so I did not check or ask of anything. I drove just about 500ft, Trailer came off and swing left, swing right, Thank you Lord there were not any car close by to caused any harm. Heavy traffic, I could not dare to hook back by myself, call them 3 times and on hold total 45 min. finally they told me to call 1800, frustrated with uhaul, I call 911, Thank you Lord the Officer came and a nice person stopped his car to help me hook trailer back up. I just hope the Uhaul look at the image of the employee took after hook up, examine it, I believe there was a flaw. Thank you Lord that, the incident was not caused any harm to other peoples .DUYET T.

The after hours pickup WAS THE WORST!!! NO KEY WAS IN THE DROP BOX FOR THE TRUCK. The online person I had been texting my "approval" with disappeared once the lockbox info was sent. Then called Customer Service. Waited 45 minutes on Customer service call line to be told there was nothing they could do about it. Returned during business hours next..they couldn't find the key either. Changed to another truck. By then had lost my help to load the truck. The people at N Plano location were outstanding. I had to wait 30 plus minutes for my truck when I was told that it would be pulled up shortly after I completed my purchase. I eventually got keys to the truck but it was over 30 minutes late. I was sent 6 or more emails with different trucks because there was a mixup. Therefore, I was charged for fuel when the fuel amount was incorrect. I brought it back at the same level that I received it. I teied calling to get this fixed but was on hold too long. I guess I will call again to see if I can get refunded for the extra fuel. I definitely do not plan on going back to this location anytime soon.Trinita W.

Nice, comfortable, big space with friendly staffs. It was hot 100+. The lady gave me cold water to drink. VERY NICE. I asked the manager in charge about environmental fee that is charged. She asked me to ask President of uhaul. It was impolite and ill-mannered. When I got the truck, I was told by the manager, I will get 10-12 MPG (miles per gallon). It gave 8 MPG and you still charge environmental fee? Surprising. It will be nice if I could get answer on environmental fee charged by uhaul. THANK YOU.RABINDRA P.
Your customer service line is incredibly long wait to speak to someone. I drop off equipment at a location which was closed. There was no support to lift the trailer hitch. I wish that would have been identified prior to, so that I could have had someone there to assist. I had to call someone 30 minutes away to help me with lifting. The pick up location experience was great but I had to call customer service to change drop off location and it was the worst customer service experience I have experienced. Had to call a total of 3 times. Initially spoke with someone named Dean who hung up on me, called back and got the same person who refused to assist. Finally got someone who was helpful and assisted me with the change. Due to the negative experience with customer service, I will not be using Uhaul for any of my future moving or rental needs.PAUL R.

We couldn't find the truck initially given to us. When we tried to get another truck, it was assigned to someone else and they drove it away. So, we had to stay in line (which was long as slow). Then we were assigned a truck behind another one so we had to wait until they left (which we didn't, we backed up the truck and left). We wasted close to an hour picking up the truck.Steven L.

The staff did not explain that a 10x15 is actually 2 units & I was mis-informed about a discount that was not given to me. On 1 of the units, the staff couldn't even open the door because it wasn't working properly. Asked staff to get it fixed before we use it. On the 5x10, the door stuck & my husband had to crawl under the door to open it, so it could shut properly. Then there was water in 2 different hallways from the leaky roof. Not a good situation at all & very disappointing, since this is one of the largest U-haul facilities near by. Also ramps are too small & inconvenient. When I initially got set up with this storage unit, I thought I was set up on auto-debit but was not. Got charged a late fee and was to be refunded the $15 late fee. It never happened, I spent a good month trying to connect with someone and never got any response. No reply to my emails from the manager of the location, calls to the Director of Ops routed from the helpdesk. Sad experience from a big company like UHaul. Storage Manager consistently attempted to up-sale the transaction. Repeatedly tried to enforce policies without proof. She added insurance and a padlock without my acknowledgment. When I questioned it, she stated it was policy in order to get the FREE month of storage but was unable to provide said proof. She was very rude. My unit is clear across the building away from elevator access. I walk pass dozens of empty "Customer Ready" units. When I signed up and paid for my storage unit, the sales associate never told me I needed an access code or gave me an access card. Therefore, when we showed up at 9p with a truckload to put in the Unit, we were not able to get in! I had hired movers to help, so now have to pay them again to come a second time. I cleaned my unit out 2 days before my rent was due. I called the 24th and 25th to cancel my account. I was on hold for 30 minutes each time and no one ever answered. I then received a call from someone at UHaul saying that they noticed my unit was empty. They wanted to confirm that I had moved out and no longer needed the unit. I confirmed. I then received a late notice that I owe for the monthly rent PLUS a late fee. I am not paying this. My account needs to be resolved. The clerk at West McKinney location told me Plano location would have a 10 x 20 climate control space, when I arrived they were told no "they do not have a 10x 20 space so I had to take 2 10 x 10 spaces, therefore had to buy 2 locks instead of 1. The charges for 2 spaces were more than for 1 10 x 20 unit. They should have honored the price for a 10 x 20 unit. Originally the truck and trailer would have to be returned to the West McKinney location, very inconvenient, but after speaking another with attendant, Anna, said that "no" I do not have to West McKinney location. She was the most helpful and professional in all the attendants I was in contact during this 2 day ordeal. It was a nightmare during the West McKinney location and would never go back there. The lady who checked us out said they have been having issues with the alarm in the building but never mentioned not being able to open the door once office hours where over. I always choose this location it's my favorite. They are always friendly and helpful. The truck was somewhat dirty, but I already prepared to wipe it down with wipes and the wipes were very dirty steering wheel and drivers seat. I also wore gloves to ensure safety with the virus I think the trucks need to be wiped down on the inside for safety. The signal light did not work and the truck needed an alignment. Did not discover until I had gotten on the highway and had a timeline to get to my destination or I would have returned. I reported These concerns upon return. Might want to check the truck out more thoroughly prior to rentals. The storage unit was also dirty. However, the staff member was so nice and did sweep it out and apologized for it being dirty.Bennie J. | First Impressions

Had a few issues. Biggest I had was that I set up auto pay, and TWICE I got nasty notices in the mail saying I had missed my payment and threatened with lockout. I set up auto pay when I first got the unit, again after the first error, and AGAIN after the 2nd error. So 3rd time was the charm I guess. Also got the feeling the staff was quite nosey. Almost everytime I went to my unit a staff member showed up. My unit was on the 2nd floor, and one time I went to drop off some heavy furniture. Elevator wasnt working so I called the front office. The guy was pretty rude and said "you can use the stairs". Try moving a large recliner up those stairs by yourself. Likely wont use them again should I ever need to.Nicky R. | Overall Experience
