U Box was not outside ready to unload when the movers and I arrived. I had called 6 days in advance to let them know that we were going to unload and made appointment. They guaranteed that U box was going be outside. It was buried in the back of the warehouse and we had to wait 1 hour. The movers were upset and wanting to charge me that extra hour. Although our ubox arrived at the drop off late I had no problem with communication from all the U-Haul employees. It was the best quote I received by over $1k going across states over 1500 miles compared to pod co., Piggy back etc... (who were over priced by at least $1500 and stated I would've be able to find any thing cheaper). The ubox arrived at the final destination earlier than expected and everything was perfect. U-Haul employees were always updating the progress via phone text or email. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone. Dorothy has made it to Kansas from LA.... Thanks U-Haul!Sally P.

Customer service was excellent both in person and over the phone. My pick up process was not great due to unclear key retrieval instructions (for a first timer) and a lock box with a lock that needed phone assistance for further instructions to unlock . I was standing in the blazing sun with no shade for half an hour trying to get the fu(/er open. When I was finally was able to reach some help over an alternate phone number it was 5:45 and the uhaul app was still holding me to a 5:15 return time. I'm not one to usually complain but that whole experience was excruciating and unnecessary. I'm a single mom of a daughter with autism and she had to sit in the car the whole time waiting for all this to go down. I feel as if some more clear key pick instructions had been posted, by the lock boxes, in the first place that could have shaved off like 10 minutes and then a new lock for sure. One that doesn't require Devine guidance (jk) to open.Brianna L.

I understand the theory of having the customer scan a QR code to return the rental truck. However -- unless you have WIFI in the parking lot, and tell customers to sign on to it -- it's a very frustrating experience to be asked to take a picture of the gas gauge, odometer, cab and cargo bed-- only to discover one loses connection to your server every time one walks out to the parking lot to photograph the rental vehicle. You have to install a WIFI booster in the parking lot and let customers know they can access the UHAUL WIFI as a guest to "self check" themselves back in upon return. Your attendant (wonderful/patient/helpful) had to stop to help, and then eventually "loan" me her scanner because VERIZON reception at your facility is very spotty. Simpler to do it the "old fashioned" way unless you upgrade your technology.John S.

I spent a lot of time on the phone being transferred between local Uhaul and national customer service. 5+ phone calls back and forth to pick up a box on my curb is excessive and a waste of my time.Jeffrey K.
Had problems getting the truck. Previous customer did not turn it in in a timely manner. Therefore it completely messed up my time with other things. The movers I hired to load were unable to help. I had to shuffle everything to find people. It was well after dark before we could finish. I understand it really was not your fault but it certainly created problems.Betty J.

I returned the truck later the same day, after hours. The link did not work at all. There was no record of my contract rental for that day. I wrestled on line for 10 to 15 minutes, even downloaded the app to return the truck with a pic of the gas. I returned a U-Haul truck in Lancaster (one way) and they had the same problem. I didn't call any one and ended up paying an extra $40 for gas. So this time I called the U-Haul number and had to wait on for for 15 to 20 minutes to talk to a representative. In the end I sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes or so to return the truck so I wouldn't have additional fees. Please fix this problem, because I rent trucks from you guys quite often. Everything else is great, which is why I return. Maria at the Oxnard, vineyard location has done a great job at helping me reserve and rent trucks. GraciasTony G.
I have been dealing and doing business with U-Haul for 50 years recently I have used them for myself and family members over the last two months five times I was happy with everything other than the price of gas and that's not their fault however when they say give credit where credit is due I have to say I gave my son money to hopefully put the gas back in to the level it was when I started and when I was over by almost a quarter tank I believe at these prices I should be given a credit somewhere other than that I'll use them againRuben N.

Location very clean and friendly. Uhaul itself, huge disappointment. Van on one side of town, auto transport on the other. Booked reservation weeks ago. Changed pickup location twice. Was given a trailer with two bald tires. One exploded on highway. Spent hours in the middle of the night waiting on service call. Should have arrived at my destination around 9pm. Wound up being 4am. The staff at the Oxnard North U-Haul location were calm, cool, and collected in an otherwise stressful situation when U-Haul's POS system went down nationwide on Saturday. No reservation? No problem. The composed and diligent staff, especially, Maria, went above and beyond to process a save-day, walk up rental of a truck allowing me to move some new furniture in-town. Only thing I had a problem with is my initial phone inquiries ! Whoever I first talked to on 2 different occasions gave me wrong info. It was not the ones I dealt with in person. Whoever answers phones gave wrong prices and other important info. Had I not been in such need for a truck, I may have gone to look elsewhere due to higher price info .AUDREY G.

I really feel that this rental company should check ahead to make sure the customers has the correct authorization code with the correct Rental Truck. I got there thinking everything was going to work but wrong it took about another 20 to 25 min to finally fix everything. Also when we were ready to leave to take the first load. The battery went dead. The truck didn't start. I was lucky that someone had battery jumper cables. The steering wasn't that great too.HECTOR G.

Alanee walls, general manager of North Fort Myers, is incompetent. I have spoke to her several times and never once did she do what she said she was going to do. She charged the credit card for a storage fee when we had nothing in storage. Once she checked it out she said she would credit us the $135 fee. She did not. When I call the 800 number they try to help but end up transferring back to Alanee Walls. She hangs up on me. She called my sister in CA at 5am but 8am in FL. The CA location was excellent. I could not close the door completely on my particular unit. It had to sit slightly open the entire time when on location. The delivery/pick up people were able to but it was extremely difficult to reopen after. I was very happy with the rest of the service. I had called about 2 weeks prior to making my appointment for an estimate. I was disappointed that when I made my appointment that the fee had gone up $1000.00! I was told later that I could have made the reservation and canceled for no chargeâ€¦if only I'd been made aware of that during my first phone conversation.Karen P.
