Have the trailer size I requested at the location I requested. I called around to find a location that actually had the specific smaller trailer I wanted- they told me they had that trailer at that location and it would be available for the time period I reserved it for. Yet, shortly before pick up day I am suddenly told that size trailer is not available and I have to drive all the way to lansing to pick up a larger trailer.COLLEEN F L.

The customer service was decent but I was super pissed off that the truck I rented was in kilometers not miles. I drove 36 kilometers and they charged me for 36 miles. 36KM=22.5 Miles. I tried explaining this to the rep I felt with and he was to dumb to know there is a difference. Will not be using this uhaul location again.THOMAS WILLIAM H.

The online app and portal was a total waste of time. I arrived at 7am to pick up my truck and the app told me to scan my drivers license for a 3rd time after completing that step the night prior. Then it required me to set up and alternate phone number with contact at 7am in the morning. Perfect plan to irriate a spouse or friend when you are standing in the middle of the parking lot. Went inside to complete the process and customer service guy deletes my rental as they were having computer issues. So again, I had to start from scratch and scan license from the beginning. And then to top it off, the vehicle wasn't available cuz the system hadn't released it from my reservation. Haha. So had to take a shorter truck that was 153k miles truck that should have been pulled from service. Manual windows, no power mirrors for adjustment and truly a beat up truck being rented at top price. Other than burning an hour of my morning correction their issue, the rental went fine.KEITH HENRY L.

The box of the truck smelled like marijuana and now my mattress and clothes smell like it. We had to air it out all day before we could pack. The air conditioning did not work 90% of the time and the drivers side door wouldn't close all the way unless you slammed it. There was a grab in it making it unsafe. There was also some thick grease all over the drivers side door handle and in the cup holders. I was very disappointed to say the least and would like some sort of compensation.AUTUMN RENEE O.

Location didn't seem to keep good track of their trucks. They were in good shape and clean but after returning it on time, they called the next morning asking where it was and threatened to report it stolen. Common sense to check the lot before contacting a customer like that.ADAM MICHAEL R.

I was charged 3 diff times for my uhaul I was just notified from my bank of unusual charges .....I paid on the 1st of Sept....when I picked it up and apparently 2 more times on the 7th for some reason I am forced to deal with tomorrow.....I have used uhaul services tor 20 years with great experience....but I am a busy busy person so this will cost me in time and money figuring out the who what when were why these charges occurred ðŸ¤¦â€â™€ï¸Richard N.

I wanted a car hauler, they said there wasn't one available. They called and were told none available. So I rented a car dollie. When I drove passe the U-Haul lot at Jolley and Cedar, there was a car hauler. So I guess you saved me money .ROY L T.

My husband stopped into the location earlier in the day to make sure the truck was there and would be ready as we were moving the next morning first thing and it is a 40 min drive one way to our home. When he got to the location to pick up the truck the keys were not in the lock box and the truck was blocked in with other trucks and trailers. Since this was after hours he had no choice but to leave and wait until the next morning. We found out the next morning that the keys had been taken home by the last renter, so even if the truck had not been blocked in we wouldn't have had keys. AGAIN, The truck was there at 4:00pm when my husband stopped in and spoke to the employees. But when he went to pick it up around 11:00pm on his way home from work, the keys were not there. He got a link that says â€œdid you get your keys?â€ He clicked through the link and the after hours phone number was not answered, with a message saying come back at 0700â€. That is unacceptable. If the employees knew the keys were not there, they had AMPLE time to get them returned or use a replacement key. The truck had two check engine lights on, the wrench and the radiator light! The front passenger bumper was peeled up like a banana and the back of the truck was so dirty that we had to clean it prior to loading our belongings. This whole process took an extra 2-3 hours on an already stressful moving day. I called at 0700 the next morning to try and straighten it out prior to going back and the customer service rep. called the location direct and confirmed that the truck was there and ready. My husband made the drive back to pickup the truck and when he got there an hour later the truck was still blocked in!!! So blocked in that they gave him a totally different truck than the one we had reserved (oh and still had no keys) This whole experience was ridiculous and added more stress. We had a time constraint that was exceeded due to this situation. The employees acted like they didn't care, and had zero empathy. The only thing they did was give us an extra day on the rental, but we didn't need any extra time so that really did nothing to compensate for all the trouble and time this took.Robert F.

When I called to make a reservation, the store I was connected to was farther away from me than 3 other locations, thus costing more for miles. Staff very helpful. Windshield was quite dirty.DOROTHY ANNE E.
The final experience picking up and returning the truck from the eventual pick up location was fine. Knowing that we'd be needing a rental vehicle at a busy back-to-college time, we reserved a vehicle weeks in advance. A week prior to our pickup, however, I got a text saying the pickup location had changed and that I'd be getting a follow up call to let me know about the new location. That call didn't come until the morning prior to our reservation, and we were informed that the closest vehicle possible was an hour away. The person who called to tell me did not seem to understand that moves are generally scheduled well in advance and that not everyone is flexible to the whims of wherever a truck may be. Clearly U-Haul was aware of a likely location change a week in advance, yet we weren't told until the morning before our move. Fortunately, in an apparent haste to transfer me, I accidentally got transferred to a West-Michigan location, where the person who I spoke with what much more understanding and took a few minutes to search for a suitable replacement. While not ideal, it seemed like a workable solution. The pickup location was great, had the truck ready to go, and helped me work through the pickup because the EZ pickup hadn't transferred over. I would certainly rent from this location again, should the need arise, but would definitely like to find ways to make sure the reservation is solid more than 24 hours in advance of the pickup time.Stephen S.

Why does Uhaul even have reservations? This was the 3rd location I was directed to after making a reservation for a 10' truck and had to use a cargo van which required 2 trips. This location was fine but Uhaul's reservation system is ridiculous, not my first experience like this.EDWARD JOSEPH T.

I was told I could leave a $100 cash deposit instead of using a card. I did this and was told I would get my deposit back when I returned the truck. I returned the truck and the location I returned it too does not do cash transactions. Therefore they were not able to give me my $100 in cash back. Now I have to wait 7-10 days for a check. I was never even told that was a possibility. They made it sound like I would have my money back the next day. Next time I need a truck I will be looking for other options.Nicholas C.

I've been in a long time U-Haul buyer I am using renting trucks from you guys I drove a truck from Florida and piggyback from Tampa to Clearwater Michigan had a little difficulty what's the tires it was a brand new truck they took me from Tampa to Georgia two days cause the tires One tire had a bad bleed and your balance is off balance .I call made A guy come out and change it he said your front end is off alignment I it from Middle of Georgia to Clearwater Michigan and one day and I had to go to Dewitt Michigan because your U-Haul place was on 27th in Lansing. You guys said you were going to reimburse me when I did that and August but I never got reimbursed for the trouble on sorrow but Use U-Haul.I asked the store person if I could deliver trucks to state to state she told me to go to grand Rapids I would love to do that I love driving my number is 239-293-5870DUANE GEORGE L. | Overall Experience
I tented a storage unit and truck bcuz I had 24 hours to get my belongings from my current residence. I paid for the storage specifically ask the gentleman before I left if the storage would be unlocked before I got back because U-Haul lock was on it and he said yes he would take care of that. This was 2 hours before they close I come back with a whole entire load out of my house and the lock was still on it oh, they were already closed oh, so I couldn't drop my belongings off to go back and get the rest of my things. The next morning I waited over 3 hours just to find out that this door is rented was already rented and it took me another two hours to find a new storage. Why I got a new storage I do not know because I lost all my belongings because I didn't get them out of my current residence in enough time. So out of my entire house all I got was the things from the shed. And I also only got a refund for the storage unit. Considering I had to pay for the moving truck but yet didn't get to use it because I had nowhere to put my things. He don't have to worry about that now cuz they're all gone, thanks again U-HaulDANIAL JOHN G. | Overall Experience
