That was my first renting from u-haul at this location. Everything was smooth, really friendly costumers service. It didn't take me not even ten minutes and I was out on the road. The van was a really nice comfortable, really clean. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs a rental vehicle or rental unit from them.

Truck smelt bad, steering wheel was sticky. When dropped off truck after hours the key drop box was unlocked and open. U-Haul would not answer phone either store or 800 number. Decided to leave keys locked in truck as this was most logical. Called the morning they opened and no answer. Later that morning I received a call from an employee telling me I had to call a locksmith to open the truck and it was my responsibility to pay for as it was “ in my contract “ even though their lockbox on the building was open to the public and the truck would have most likely been stolen.. which would have been my responsibility at that point also. Even though truck was still locked on their property. They claim they only had one key.

You tried to scam me on my mileage. I still overpaid. Everybody always check the odometer to the paperwork before leaving the facility. They had 30 plus miles on the paper than the actual reading. I .caught that on the the way back.

I was disappointed that the original location I made the reservation at did not have the equipment I had reserved. When I was directed to the next location, the team was fast and courteous. They got me out of there quickly. When I went to return the equipment, same type of service. There was only 1 person working and he was running his tail off. We were checked out and on our way quickly. I will definitely be going back to this location in the future.

Make sure no one glued a mirror back on. Picked up my rental truck and the mirror flew off just a half a mile away right after I picked up the truck.

The only issue I had was the drivers side mirrors were lose while I was driving. I had to continually keep moving with my hand while driving in the city and the expressway. Everything else was perfect.

I'm concerned about all the hidden charges. The initial costs or estimate was $19.99. When everything was charged the actual cost was over $70, including a $7 charge for dolly I didn't request. I even returned the truck 2 hours early, after putting gas in the vehicle. What a rip off!!

I dealt with a gentleman whose name escapes me but I believe it started with a T. He was quite helpful. I rented this truck on short notice, as another local UHaul was unable to fulfill my truck request, which was placed more than a week ago. This young man's service was solid when I arrived, as it was upon return. My issue was with the truck and the lack of equipment available. The truck had an engine light on when I received it, which I was told during the original inspection. If the light doesn't mean anything and doesn't impact the performance of the truck, cool. My issue was that I drove the truck between 40 and 45 miles and had to put 12 gallons of fuel in it to return it to the pre-trip level. There wasn't any sitting around and waiting with the truck running either. I would imagine those trucks are supposed to get more than 4 miles per gallon. The interior upholstery was falling from the ceiling as well. When I left the Waverly Road location, after being told that my original truck order was not there, I was told I'd be able to pick up the requested appliance dolley at the other location. They did not have one available. From a customer service perspective, the young man who assisted me was good...no complaints there. I'd recommend his service...not the company truck.

I suspect the Waverly location does more business and certainly has more staff, but I'd take this place and wait in line for half an hour to avoid the treatment I get at 901 S Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI 48917. This location is much preferred despite being less attractive. If Waverly were my only option you'd lose my business for good.

I tented a storage unit and truck bcuz I had 24 hours to get my belongings from my current residence. I paid for the storage specifically ask the gentleman before I left if the storage would be unlocked before I got back because U-Haul lock was on it and he said yes he would take care of that. This was 2 hours before they close I come back with a whole entire load out of my house and the lock was still on it oh, they were already closed oh, so I couldn't drop my belongings off to go back and get the rest of my things. The next morning I waited over 3 hours just to find out that this door is rented was already rented and it took me another two hours to find a new storage. Why I got a new storage I do not know because I lost all my belongings because I didn't get them out of my current residence in enough time. So out of my entire house all I got was the things from the shed. And I also only got a refund for the storage unit. Considering I had to pay for the moving truck but yet didn't get to use it because I had nowhere to put my things. He don't have to worry about that now cuz they're all gone, thanks again U-Haul

UHaul definitely needs a technology upgrade. I attempted to reserve the unit online via computer, but setting up the reservation kept putting in some arbitrary pick up location. The location filters didn't work to show me which items were available at the location of choice. So then I decided to register using the phone app. This was much better and I was able to reserve the unit and pre-register for the pick up; however, when I went to pick up the unit, the clerk still went through everything and ended up selecting features I did not register for, which resulted in an increase of cost by almost double. He was unable to back them out, so he said they would refund the difference once I left and I could take the unit. It is now the next day and there is no refund. So now I have the hassle of making phone calls and getting my refund. It makes zero sense that one can reserve and pre-register through the app, yet have to go through all the check-in steps just to pick up the unit. If one registers on the phone app or online, all that should have to be done for the check-in is to show your license, pick up the contract, and be on your way.

Had a problem using the online reservation system, after spending about an hour on the phone, I stopped in and the manager straightened things out in about 5 minutes. I need to rent a truck a couple of times a year and this is the only Uhaul location I'll use.

Near flat tire that I had to make them inflate before we drove off the lot. It was half flat in the morning so our departure was delayed while they changed the tire. Had to refuse the first one they tried to change it to as it was bald. The door on the UHaul constantly got stuck even when the trailer was empty. Took two of us to open/close. One pulling the strap and another one inside pushing it from up top. Worse rental experience ever and I have been renting UHaul for moves for 30 years. The store attendants mumbled a lot. Didn't have much to say and must hate their jobs is all I can say. I am not accustomed to leaving poor reviews but I cannot let this experience slide. It was not ok.

Terrible experience with Uhaul. I reserved equipment online with no issue. I the. Received a call from Uhaul to confirm my reservation and was told my location was not available, but on the North side of Lansing was. She confirmed everything and said she put multiple items in the notes reference my reservation and the fact that I would be 1.5 hours late returning the trailer. Assured me it would not be a problem. I got to the location the pick it up and my reservation was completely screwed up. She had reserved a tow dolly for me which is absolutely not what we had discussed. There were no notes either. She completely lied to me. The guy at the counter went out of his way to help me out and said that 6:30 would not be an issue. At just after 5 pm I received a call from the store telling me I was late and where was the trailer. I was scolded for not having it back when due and “other people were waiting for it”. It appears there is zero communication at Uhaul. I was not pleased at all with the rental with the exception of the gentleman at the counter that went out of his way to help. Other than that, you completely failed.

Also, She called me at 11:33 am on Saturday and didn't even day hi... just "the truck was due back at 11 and it's not here" I reminded her that we rented it for 2 days so it was not due back till Sunday. However, we returned the truck Saturday around 4pm.

I was supposed to be able to check in with my phone because we planned to arrive at 8:00 am which was before the store opens. Luckily we changed it to 9:00 because the keys were inside the building rather than in the key box. It's good that we weren't in a rush to get going because it took 30 minutes to get out of the parking lot from when we pulled in. The cargo area of the truck was dirty and stained our mattress and box spring. The truck seems to run a bit rough and it took a LOT of gas to go only 130 miles.

The man who helped me - I am so bad at getting names! - was great! He hooked up my trailer, checked my lights, the whole nine yards, but never made me feel like I couldn't have done it myself. A lot of the time, because I'm a smaller women, I'm treated inferior from the second I walk in the door. So props to him!

First, and foremost. I was not given the so called, $50 Guarantee! I had reserved a 6 x 12 open trailer for friday...April 16th, 2021. The morning of my reservation the N East u-haul location employee calls me to have to cancel my pickup for that day! His reason was based on another customer refusing to return the trailer I had reserved? No $50 Guarantee!?! I showed up the next day to discuss my complaint...And U-haul system was down? The store employees stated, they're down nationwide?! I did reach out to the store manager, and no response!

Tim went above and beyond his duties. I arranged a drop off another location, GPS showed I was there but I didn't see it, when I tried to call they were closed. So I selected an alternate dealer and when I showed up Tim advised me they charge for unscheduled drops, he called the place that I was suppose to drop it at and they said they didn't have room so to accept it without the fee. That helped me to not have to drive 40 miles the next day to make a second attempt and I returned it a day earlier then the contract stated. My only complaint is that the door on my unit tended to get stuck. But any time I couldn't open it myself the staff were more than willing to help me out. So overall it wasn't a detriment, just a slight annoyance.

I tried branch employees....national call center...and going through your Facebook page....I get no solutions just empty promises and ME having to constantly call cause no one apparently is interested in service.

The staff were great. The storage unit was filthy; glad I had a large broom and time. I also am concerned that I have to sit on the ground to see my lock combination and when it snows both I will be cold and the lock will be covered in snow.

When we would go to our unit there would always be an extra lock on our storage unit. There was NEVER ANY REASON FOR IT. We paid for 24 hour access, never did we pay late and the general manager would put the extra lock on our unit so we couldn't get into when we wanted. We would ask the young man that was working and he had no idea why the extra lock. Also when we took our storage elsewhere there was mold all over all my stuff and the floor was wet. Destroyed alot of my antique furniture Destroyed. I will never recommend this place for storage units.
