Craig LFirst, I want to commend the person who checked me out and then back in a couple of days later. I was a first time truck renter and Mequehaun was very efficient, helpful, and friendly. I appreciated her patience and encouragement. I will need a truck again in six weeks, so I will definitely return to this store. My only criticism is that the tires on that didn't have very good tread, so backing it up into the area I was using it in wasn't possible. Fortunately, I wasn't worried about being on the road, since this was a local move. See y'all soon!
Angela EFirst off they didn’t have the truck I wanted when I got there, so I was told by the lady that check me in that she would give me the 14 inch truck for the same price as the 10 inch truck but I was over charged and I told that if I didn’t put gas in it that it would come out of the money I paid but it didn’t, I was charged more🤦🏾♀️

Rosemary HGuy double charged me, wasted my time having to contact banks and other things. His own new employee told him not to do it, we were both telling the guy no not to hit the button.. SO THAT MESSED UP ONE OF MY ACCOUNTS DURING A MOVE. But, i had back up plans and got it done. Then he screwed up the dates. Great job. THEN, we try to turn the trailer in and spend half a day getting bounced around locations, because the woman that I called the night before about the damned dates being wrong took it upon herself to change my turn in location to a place that doesn't want trailers. Finally we find a place that will take it and they were rude as hell, wouldn't answer hot to get the app to work to avoid a "turn in fee". SO GUESS WHO GOT CHARGED more money for a bad time. But wait there is more.. Finally after all this we go to return the actual uhaul truck to the same place we took the trailer. Rude some more, wouldn't help with anything. App doesn't work and charged like 50 more bucks to RETURN YOUR STUPID TRUCK BECAUSE I COULDN'T get your shit app to work at all with any phones we tried. None of your phone people had the power to change anything, they all bounced me to new departments. Screw you guys.

CHARLES HI was charged $76 x 8 boxes that due to your store being closed I was charged a full month. This is BS.
Melissa KCustomer service from Mr Parker was top notch. My only issue is that I got charged for 3 days when I turned the trailer in the day after checkout, after hours due to heavy rain and it being the weekend. I had the trailer for a day and a half at most, but ended up being charged for 3.
CHRISTIAN C1 First off the moving help process is poor. The company cancelled at the last minute and my money has been sitting in space for the last 3 days. 2 The truck roof had a leak. 3 The trailer light did not come on. 4 While after hour drop off is beneficial, the barcode did not scan into the program for me to safely checkout.
James CI filled the truck with too much gas and uhauls policy would not give me a discount, very disappointing, seeing how if don't put enough gas I am fined severely. I feel used and mocked.

Being right next to the woods with homeless people living there… and there would be sketchy people lingering outside the facility. Basically every time I left the facility I felt lucky nothing bad happened. The whole area should probably be gated off, like other storage facilities. If I had visited before reserving online, I wouldn’t have gotten the unit.

Checkout process was easy. Facility is in a high crime area but that is outside the purview of UHAUL and not their fault.

Sheeba J | First ImpressionsEvery time we have to deal with this location, it's a very slow process. We tried to do remote pick-up for our van, but it didn't work, so we had to talk to somebody. They gave us a van that was parked about 4 inches from the vans on either side of it and had to switch out which van we were renting. This meant that we ended up having to call corporate later when we were being charged for driving 95 miles when we had only driven 15. Side note, because I know this isn't an issue with this location: Literally every time we've had to deal with UHaul in the past few years, there have been extra charges we've had to call back and change. Every single time. It makes me feel like I can't trust the company and that there is a lack of consideration for the consequences of whatever actions are making this happen.

Reba B | First ImpressionsThe place was really nice and the people were nice most days. You could tell they were overwhelmed and short staffed. It's why I always gave them a little grace. The reason that this place is only getting two three stars is because they didn't do a great job at explaining how to get in when the bays were closed. It was very sweet cleaning lady who showed me how to actually get in and make the door work not just sign in. The other complaint I had was that I had set it up on auto pay multiple times and every time I turned around it was not pulling the money out even when the money was in there. The first time I let it go but after the third time I had enough and decided to leave. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being upselled on insurance when my renters insurance would have covered my stuff I even asked my insurance company if they would cover it, and they said yes but I was forced to get the extra insurance by the manager who said I couldn't store my stuff there if I didn't. All in all it wasn't too bad of an experience but some of those things need to change.

I had to wait an hour to get checked in:for the truck, the supplies and the storage units that was while a man came in and threatened with blowing up the place with a malfunctioning propane tank. And USPS trying to drop off 10-15 trucks that weren’t supposed to be there. So I understand that it was unexpected but if you had just one other staff person none of this would have slowed down the process of checking people in and out.

The alarms for climate controlled units go off regularly so it doesn’t seem like they are especially useful for detecting real security threats.

The surrounding area often has loitering, but the facility itself is so easy to back or pull up to and carts are often readily available. The staff of Uhaul are so very pleasant, professional and helpful! I highly recommend. We were able to use Uhaul vans on a few occasions and storage.

anna c | First ImpressionsRented a truck and storage space during my visit. Staff was prompt and responsive and the process of check-in was a breeze, so we could get right to the business of moving. The storage area appeared new and/or was very well maintained. There were covered loading docks so we could drive our 10' truck right inside to unload. Carts were available to help haul things from the truck to the storage room and they were all clean and in good working condition. Once inside the storage area, it was well lit and temperature controlled. Everything was clean inside - walls, floors, hallways, storage rooms - so I judged that my things would be in good shape while there. As for the truck we rented, it too was clean and in good repair (it even had its own padlock built in which is a brilliant addition but sadly probably just a fluke). All in all, we were quite satisfied with our experience and would recommend this location to others.

I asked him what time does the storage unit close he said 7, I asked about the time on the piece of paper that’s says 10. He say he don’t know about that but added 24hrs for $10. But I didn’t need it after 10. I came in when it was closing time about 6:55. My access card don’t work. I will call back in to talk to store management about this. This not my first time having an issue with this u haul company

When checking out, you provide an emergency contact to uhaul and they insist on calling the contact and won’t let you complete checkout until they verify the emergency contact. I have never heard of this type of policy. It was taking so long that people were telling the clerks to hurry up and people just started leaving. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get my rental. I arrived at 9:45 and left with the truck at 11:10. It was just to long of a process . I struggled to give uhaul an average rating.

don r | First ImpressionsI had a really bad experience renting the truck in another city but Jonathan in Athens was very professional and resolved those issues. Moving into storage was very easy. The facility is very clean and we are very happy with it. U Haul provide moving carts which helped tremendously and it was really easy to find the unit with the map that was provided. I also really liked the security system. Much better than most places I have seen. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone needing to rent storage.

Debra O | First ImpressionsWaited a very long time to check in for a box truck and storage unit. I had checked in online but still waited. By the time it was my turn in line they could only help me with my box truck. The other person for the storage unit was not around and that I would have to wait for the storage person. I just waited in line??? Why do I need to wait again? I left so I could pack up my daughters dork room. There was a time frame for move out that day. Which meant after packing up all her furniture I had to come back and wait in line again. This process which was suppose to be quick because of the “online check in” was painfully slow. The staff was nice but considering it was move out dates for UGA you would think you would schedule staff accordingly. The other people in line were also waiting a long time and having worse issues than I. I guess I should consider myself. lucky. I’ve used another Uhaul facility in Athens and did not have these issues.

However, during minor emergency UHaul Corporation shoots self in the foot with their automated phone system jacking around customers with their artificial intelligence brilliance. When someone has a trailer sperate while still at the facility, phone system automated routing is inexcusable, poor thinking on corporate! Otherwise, this staff were profusely apologetic.
