Light sensors are faulty and sometimes don't work so i have to use my phone's flashlight which is inconvenient when you need both hands. As for the customer service the lady that helped me close my account was the friendliest and the most accommodating. I haven't rented a uhaul of any kind in several years, but needed a pickup and gave it a shot. When I went to pick it up, I was greeted by Audrey. She was professional, courteous and helpful. She handled my â€œother contactâ€ call very well. She briefed me on the process for going outside and checking/agreeing to the vehicle. I was quickly off and running. The pickup itself was terrific! Low miles & immaculate. Beyond simply the new-car smell, I was so thankful that it had a backup cameraâ€¦I'd say this helped me and uhaul alike ;) No problems with the truck at all. The return process also went very smoothly. The person was quite friendly and smooth, in addition to doing their job thoroughly. I am very pleased and thankful. I will be back!KARL P.

For a women entering alone, I found it scary to walk to the storage unit in dark areas that only light up by sensors. The walkways are pitch dark until you walk through your area. When entering your storage unit, it has no light (i brought a flash light) but as you are inside the fear that the hallway light will cut off soon is concerning. Also roaches in the facility made me feel that I should have taped up boxes better. I saw 3 roaches on my boxes prior to removing items. Very inconvenient to go to 2 separate locations to pick up truck and motorcycle trailer. When I get to trailer location, trailer lights did not work when hooking up. There was one person at Passaic NJ location and I had to change fuses supplied by worker. I was then late to my storage facility and they closed before I could rent one. I then had 2 separate locations calling me asking me where my rental was and they had customers waiting. If I were to rate my experience from 0 to 10â€¦10 being the best, I'd rate it a 2. I was surprised I was charged an additional 20.00 because I dropped my rental off after hours. I was told I was charged because I didn't return the vehicle on the mobile app. This is unfortunate, I had no idea I would be charged my cellphone died so I couldn't do it on the app. Had I known I would have kept the key and came in the following day and returned the vehicle in person. I bought storage online and got the access code and number right away . On reaching the storage the location was not convenient. It was really far from the access door and was on the upper level. So i went to the check in location and requested the uhaul storage staff to change the storage location ( if available) . To which they told me that a better location is available at a slight higher price but in a different building ( at the lower level). I happily paid the difference for the sake of convenience even though i had already unloaded most of the stuff from the truck, i reloaded and went to the lower level location. To my surprise the updated location was also on the upper level( similar to the one i asked to upgrade). I thought it might be a human error and used the intercom located near the storage to get it rectified. The agent entirely denied that she had given me a ground level storage and when I asked why did she ask me to pay the different, she mentioned that its because the new storage doesn't have a structural pillar. I never asked for a storage without a pillar, i only asked for the one at ground level to make it easy for me to access . The agent said this is what's available and hung up on me. I had a terrible experience at uhaul north bergen. I paid more , loaded my truck twice and still didn't get what i asked for.Ankit N. | Online Move In

By far the worst experience! Reservations don't matter. Customer service is lacking. I made a reservation June 19th and showed up June 20th to personally see the storage unit size and was shown what it would look like and the lady was able to confirm my reservation. Showed up Sat (7/17) as my reservation was for that date and magically my reservation can't be found and my space isn't available. Customer service couldn't even assist, she wanted me to make a new reservation which is pathetic. When I got home I called the 800 U-Haul number and they said the manager would be calling me soon to attempt and rectify the issue. Haven't heard anything.. I had rented a truck and wanted to take advantage of your 1 month of free storage. The line was very long and it took an hour between the time I came in, got the truck, then had one of the employees, Javier, show us the units we wanted. I was in a time crunch for my move, so Javier told me that he could reserve the two 5x10 units on the first floor by calling on the phone in a moment to make sure we could finish the reservation process. He never called. When I called later, we had lost the units we were promised and had to settle for a 10x10 unit on the 2nd level, which the move-in twice as hard than if we had gotten the units we were promised.
