Rick B.Make it clear that although the hours are.9-5, that someone will call the customer if the trailer.is not checked in by the time listed on the paperwork. I made the rental reservatio over the phone, and the Uhaul agent said that the location would be open Monday (6-27-22) rom 9-5, and from our conversation I understood that returning it between those hours would.be fine, as I had told him I was not sure exactly when we would get back to OK. We got to bed after 2AM after a long day of moving/driving/etc., planning to return the trailer in the morning. Then around 8 AM, I was awakened by an agent asking about the trailer because it was not checked in yet. The agent said they would extend the time, but did not explain whether or not we would be charged more or not. My husband pulled his clothes on and made the 50-minute drive to return the trailer. All seemed well until shortly after 5 PM, when I got a call, possibly from the same agent who called before, asking if we still had the trailer. I told her we had checked it in and she asked when. I told her a little after 9 this morning. She seemed to be making a note of that and then asked if that was "AM or PM?" I told her, and she said she would look into it. So now I am still worrying a bit over whether or not the trailer was correctly checked in and whether we are going to be charged extra. I really hate the feeling, but now I am not sure I trust anyone's answer until I see the transactions on my card. Not a smooth checkin experience, but we would have had the thing there at 7AM if I had better understood in the beginning.

It is secure...but i dont see the point in your company squeezing more money like insurance for a unit that requires you to check in and out everytime you go to your interior unit.

Geoffrey J.When I called the store to make the appointment they told me to be there at 8am for pick up. On Sunday morning I arrived at 8:05am for my pickup, the workers on property told me they didn't open until 9am. I explained to them that I had been told to show up at 8am. They argued with me for a few minutes before the one of them said okay, I will help you just give me a few minutes. I waited outside on the curb until 8:45am when I saw the same person who said they would help me get in there car and leave to go get coffee. When they can back at 8:55am they finally let me in the store and processed my paperwork. I understand they were technically not open but I was told to be there at 8am and there were 6 workers who could have helped me, or at least apologized for the inconvenience. Instead they ignored me and argued. I never received and apology. When a worker says the wrong time I believe the company should uphold that, it took 2 minutes at 9am to process my paperwork but instead I waited outside on the for an hour. I would not recommend using UHaul and I would have left if I had any other option. The rest of the day was fine. The truck was good, no issues just a very bed customer service experience to start off my morning.

They didn't think they would have a pickup truck but reserved the smallest moving van. When I arrived at the store they remembered I wanted the truck and had one returned early. So, I rented a pickup with cheater mileage!

Sean C.Where to begin? First, your staff were very professional and polite. But, as to negatives, here they are: (1) The van we reserved was not available, because the previous renter did not bring it back in time (2 hours earlier). (2) Because we were under a time constraint, we were forced to accept a much larger van that the driver was inexperienced at driving. (3) The following happened in the van: (a) The sun visor fell off striking the driver in the face, (b) the knob of the window handle came off in the drivers hand, (c) the Engine caution light came on and stayed on throughout the rental. To their credit, your staff gave us a discount, keeping the rental fee at the same level as the original van. In addition, they were extremely supportive and helpful from beginning to end of the process. Finally, as our driver was taking the larger than requested van to the moving site he noticed a UHaul van parked at a nearby drinking establishment, he could not help but wonder,"Is that our original van?" We do hope the late party was charged for an extra day, they certainly made our day harder.

Amanda P.picked up on June 1st under my email of shawn2221@yahoo.com and was given a 15 ft unit that didn't open on drivers side? Had to slide in thru passanger side during this rental. Then was charged an additional 59.95 when i had the unit for one day and I returned on the same day. I rent from Uhaul every other week in DFW and have never had this kind of poor treatment. I would like to be refunded for not only the 59.95 but for the entire rental because of poor unit. Gracias

Ronald T.Counter wait time would be my only complaint. My average wait time during each time I needed to talk with an agent at the counter was 40 minutes never less. The agents were helpful and took care of my items once it was my turn.

David H.Everyone we dealt with in person was great. But canceling after an hour when prepaid is ridiculous! I was driving that hour so didn't answer texts. Everyone locally was great but I'd go with someone else if that was an option bc of texts/emails every 8 seconds and the cancellation when I'd already paid up front. And funny no trucks available where I wanted to go but the lot was full of trucks. Corporate UHaul gives the name a black eye.
Loy T.The truck smelled cigarettes and the person at the desk told someone while I was there that it is ok to smoke in the with the windows down. Next the radio was on and would not turn off. Also the radio volume and station setting was stuck. When the battery died in Knoxville, TN they pulled the fuse for me… listens from rap-talk radio to gospel… that was torture.
David Z.I had to drive an extra 84 miles to pick up the 26' truck in Sante Fe while the trailer was in Bernalillo without any compensation. In fact, I received a threatening text that the truck was going to be cancelled because I was 30 min late - I was in the Uhaul lobby waiting to be helped when I got the irritating text. The moving help (Anytime Movers from ABQ) slow rolled the job. It was the first day on the job for one guy who staggered around, and who left after a couple of hours. I fed them lunch, and then waited for a replacement to show up. They charged me a total of 5 hours anyway. And, when the Uhaul app didn't seem to work to add the extra time, they insisted I either go to an ATM to pay them in cash, or pay by credit card over the phone with an additional $30 fee. What a racket! Also, booking the truck, trailer, and help at the same time I thought would be convenient until things went south with the truck availability and pre-paying the non-refundable moving help. Again, what a racket!

Usually the office and access hours were ok, but when we went to move out of the unit on a Sunday, the card wouldn't work and the office was locked so we could not empty it, and our hired helpers were booked so we had to move ourselves. Someone in the office the next day gave us an extra day, but apparently did not report it as we were billed and had problems correcting it. Everything was settled a week later. Overall we would recommend U-Haul.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday, 12/20/21, that was dated 12/2/21 for November's late fee, and we live in the same town as the unit. The November late fee wasn't even our fault, it was due to the previous form of payment not being deleted by the store employee. The October late fee was because of my debit card being hacked, us getting a new card, and not realizing the unit was saved to that card. Both fees were removed but it was tedious having to go in each time to deal with them. The gate was never closed so you never needed the swipe card, and the door to the units didn't lock so you didn't need your swipe card either for it b

Our month started on the 14th, and we moved out that day, and they would not prorate or refund from Aug 14-Sept 14. This is unfair to customers, I don't care what the contract says, it's a terrible business practice. This survey says move out date was the 16th, it was NOT, it was on the 14th, the day my son moved into his apartment. Someone is playing funny business with the move out date. Other storage companies will prorate and since we have a choice, I will choose differently next time. No need to charge customer (a college student) for 29 days he didn't need. Catherine M. | Overall ExperienceThe total experience with the storage situation was an absolute joke, they want me to store a 30k boat between a gutted pickup truck, and a van that I'm pretty sure someone was living in it... with no gate on the entrance, or cameras facing that part of the storage facility.... with the 26ft truck rental I was told I would receive a 10x20 indoor storage area..... surprisingly they only had a 10x10 area... so needless to say, I forked out another 250$ for a storage unit at another place... on a high note, the truck drove great, and the guy behind the counter was awesome... just a bad area and misleading information

We rented a storage space (which has always remained empty) as a place where our daughter who attends OU could use if she needed to leave school quickly due to COVID. Our bills were paid on auto-pay. In late January, we decided she was staying at school and that we could cancel the account. Since our name is on the account, we had to complete a document and send to the manager giving authorization to close the account and cut the lock. We live in Michigan. After that time, we were billed for another monthly fee. We contacted the store and sent a second copy of the cancellation form. I have since sent them to your store manager as a reference point. The charge we received was credited. We have then been charged again, received a lien notice, another charge and a final notice. I have send several emails to Brett the store manager to work this though as well as worked with Lisa from your customer service department. Brett will not return calls nor emails. As of right now, we have lien notice against us (without merit) as well as charges on our American Express card for monthly billing when we clearly returned the unit prior (documented). I am disappointed at this service and the lack of care and concern from your store manager Brett. I have copies of all emails sent to Brett for reference. As of this moment, we still are not clear on next steps. We need some clarity and closure here. At the same time, I would strongly suggest some customer service training for your manager Brett.

I rented a 10' truck on 10/22/2020 'In town price' They lied and said I drove 50 miles when I did not. I went 24 miles. 11 miles there and 11 miles back, plus stopped for gas. 700 E Lindsey to 905 SE 19th st moore, ok. That is 12 miles there and 12 miles back!!!!!! One way trip!!!!! I went from paying $34.00 to $78.00 to $128.00 for 'In Town' services that advertised $19.99. Their response to me was 'Did you take a picture.' Well of course not, because I didnt think i was going to get screwed over plus it isn't my job to make sure someone can read numbers right. They made my account overdraft. So overall $128.00 charged for going 24 miles. Very dishonest and shady people. I work hard for my money and They stole from me and was not truthful about the numbers. I spoke to the manager and they did not help me at all. They said the numbers added up....yeah, lies. I spoke to customer service and they said I can file a complaint but the manager from a local store would contact me...what good would that do? I already spoke to them! I wanted corporates number. I asked the ladies 'Who read the numbers on the truck' and they did not even respond back. They were trying to save their jobs. I will NEVER come here again and I am telling everyone else to go to Public storage. They will get there moneys worth and they seem like very honest people. F U-Haul!!!

When I arrived at my unit, it turned out to be an upper level unit only accessible by a set of rolling stairs, which is not what I was told and did not suit my needs. Thankfully, the staff were very helpful and were able to move me to a ground-floor unit on the same day. In addition, the day that I arrived to move in, all of the key cards were demagnetized, so none could be activated in my name, and I ended up having to leave to go to work without having moved in because I didn't have keycard access and also did not have time. When I came back the next day, the issue was resolved, for which I was grateful. I also did not feel like I was well-informed about how to swipe into the facility, since it required swiping into two different control panels, which I never would have guessed on my own. The staff member who helped me was very kind though, which was nice. In sum, the move-in process ended up being far more difficult than I thought it would be, but everything worked out well.
