I've been a customer at that location for most of the last ten years. The quality has gone downhill the entire time. Everything about uhaul has gone downhill. I have used trucks and containers at multiple locations and they have all regarded. Moving my belongings out was so that I could go to a competitor. The trucks list inaccurate dimensions regarding volume and when question the people renting you the truck they say they can't do anything. I had a most awesome experience with this facility and all the staff there, particularly Veda and Jay. Thee guys bent over backward to accomodate us, particularly after the 2020 pandemic hit which was a stressful time for us. Over a 3-yr rental experience at this location where not one payment was late (auto paid on credit card for 3 years), the cleanliness was ok. Security was not great since doors to storage were open during business hours and anybody can walk in without access card. Individual storage padlock was main security measure. Lighting was ok, not great in corners. Our unit suffered moisture intrusion once and several boxes were damaged. However my biggest complaint and the reason we canceled our contract and moved to a different facility after 3 years, was the contract update process. Started with a $130/month rate. Went up every year, with 60-day notice, but without any regard for long time customers who auto pay. However in December 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic, the rate went up from $150 to $160/month for the same unit. This happened with no written or email written notice. When I called to enquire UHaul corporate office pointed to the Newburgh location saying "they should have notified you" and Newburgh staff pointed to UHaul saying "rate increases are the location's decision." One manager said a notice had been sent, another said it did not matter if any rate increase notification was sent. The spirit of the contract with UHaul - that both parties need to agree to any rate changes in writing - was meaningless. As a customer if I decided not to make complete payments and reduced my payment by 25%, there would be immediate consequences including the auction of my storage contents. The other party to the contract however, increased the rate by 25% with no notice and there were no consequences. This is not how a contract works. The overall customer service we received was great! The girl that helped us get our equipment and check to ensure it was working, definitely went above and beyond. I was able to use my tax exempt ID online while making my reservation so I was not charged tax upon payment in store for the dolly but when I had to purchase a two inch tow ball for my truck to attach the dolly I asked to use my tax exemption and although she was not able to allow me to do so in store she still was very accommodating and gave me a discount instead for the amount of applicable tax. While inspecting the dolly during hook up before leaving the U-Haul store she came with us to inspect the condition of the equipment and thankfully so because all of the running lights on the dolly worked as did the right blinker but there was an issue with the left and she noted that as well so we wouldn't have any issue or be held liable upon return. Drop off was quick and painless! We pulled in, detached the equipment in its parking space set it up on tri-pod and made sure it was secure. I ran in let her know it was back and in the same condition and she thanked us and off we went. I received my final receipt via email and that was all she wrote. I'll be using this location for any future needs and also will refer to friends. Greatest experience ever with equipment rental and extremely affordable!Mary D.

My Ubox arrived a week ahead of schedule and was sitting at a uhaul location. I wish I would have been notified via email or phone so I could have scheduled an earlier pickupIan R.
Booking agents are not fully trained. I was assigned a mover to bring my UBox to me and one to deliver the box to the destination. The first mover was not given a pickup location, the box was not ready when they arrived so I did not receive the box until 2 pm on the delivery date. Coming back, the box was damaged by Uhaul commercial carrier and delivered and left opened in Warwick NY. My delivery date was moved over a week since I Had to go inspect the box. Overall the Ubox is a good concept. The new metal boxes are much better quality than the wood box. Still working to get reimbursed for the lock, but given the fees, uhaul should be making the calls to the movers and arranging pickup dates/times. The truck I was given Had several lights on. I had to go back to the n and tell the staff. The online truck check did not give me an option to put that in writing. The returning of the truck was not seamless like the pickup. Line was long and the return line is not long enough as it blocks the exiting vehicles going out of parking lot. Pickup was smooth and the drop off was as easy as could be. However, the van was a disaster. The dash board lit up like a Christmas tree! Check engine, abs, and oil light were all on! Van ran very rough! Didn't particularly feel safe in this vanR C.
The location was wonderful. Having said that, the reservation process and getting answers/assistance from customer service and scheduling was downright impossible. I got put into a hold circle several times instead of being helped - the entire reservation was a messSharon S.
Why was God able to rest on the 7th day? It's Easy, He had the crew from this uhaul location to take care of things while He rested!!....YES, THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!!!..DO NOT go anywhere else. This location just shines with quality and professionalism.....I'm from southern Virginia and had broke down on the Thru-way on a Sunday morning towing a uhaul trailer. I don't remember the name of the nice young girl that helped me, but words can't express how well I was taken care of. I was able to finish my trip and return home safely and when I got my bill, I was given the lowest rate I could have gotten because they took the time to make sure I got a fantastic deal...I've been a uhaul customer for personal and business, and this is why...whoever this girl was, promote now!! We rented a pick up truck and before we even got in the truck we walked around the truck to assess any prior damages. We pointed out damages that were not notated with a sticker and we also took pictures and uploaded it to email that was sent to us. As we were leaving, my husband got in the truck and I was walking back to our personal vehicle, the employee that was helping us, called my husband a "sticker" because he was pointing out the damage that was not notated. I responded that "we would rather be safe than sorry". The employee claimed to understand, but employees should NEVER call customers names regardless of how bad the name is. Box could not be dropped off asscheduled but I wasn't made aware of that until the weekend, thus forcing me to make frantic calls to changes other scheduled appointments. If I had not been watching, the box being delivered, I never would have known it was there; it was picked up without my knowledge as well, I happened to look out the window and it was gone. I don't think this is entirely their fault, but I do think they can be more understanding and not charge me keeping a truck longer than I intended. I booked movers thru your service and they no showed, which forced me to keep the truck until Monday, due to the fact I had to wait for a new moving company to become available '. I was called daily being told the truck will be repoed if I didn't not return it. I already had to take off of work Monday due to the company I booked thru you no showing. Have less hold time on the phone. The only reason that my containers got picked up on time from my New York residence is because I went in person to the New Windsor, NY UHaul place and the busy, but helpful man gave me a better phone number for the Newburgh location. (I had spent a total of over two hours on hold trying to get through to them before that) The lady I spoke with on the new phone number got someone to pick my container up that night as scheduled (because I was leaving to Georgia the next day). I am happy you provide the UBox services. And all of the delivery people were very nice. But customer service over the phone is too difficult to get through to. Thank you! : )Sarah L V.

We were so satisfied with the service we got from UHAUL from the manager of the New York branch you the nice lady who dropped off and picked up the Ubox her in California. Not to mention the very spacious Ubox. We were already prepared to let go of some of our things but it was a a really nice surprise that we still had a lot of space left so we ended up bringing them still. We definitely got the value for our money or maybe even more. I am planning to do a YouTube review just because of how impressed we were about your service. Employee hitched the auto trailer to the truck incorrectly. When I drove the car onto the trailer the trailer unhitched, and smashed into the door of the truck. He used a rubber hammer to pound the panel back into place. Every time the door was opened the panel popped out and had to be fixed. Upon arrival the young lady was very nice and helpful. She assign a unit handed me my papers work and off I went to check the space out. When I lift the gate the unit floor was dirty. Although disappointed, I went back to customer service desk but the young lady was already gone. I ask the young man for a broom and a pick up to sweep out the unit space, he was very confused why I would be ask6for a broom so I proceeded to explain my situation in hand. I was a storage customer for way too long. At one point the door of my unit was broken (internal spring) and it was reported and not corrected for a lengthy time. When I brought the complaint forward a 2nd time it was actually corrected within 2-3 days but I had to be on hand with the unit to open it for repairs which was inconvenient but necessary.
