I rented a 26 foot truck. I went to the office the day before in the afternoon to verify my reservation. The truck was there. When I arrived Tuesday morning at 6:50am. ( I was the first customer) I was given a truck with it on empty. That was a MAJOR Bummer!!! Poor House Keeping!!! On fumes, I traveled a 1/2 mile out of my way in rush hour traffic to get gas. But, besides that..... it was a good experience.ROLANDO S.
Moving is stressful. Although we ended up getting the truck we needed for our move, we were called and our pick up changed several times, including one location that was over 40 miles but over an hour and half away, driving - 2 hours in public transportation. At our request a location much closer was found and 'guaranteed'. THEN we were called 30 minutes before we were headed out to get the truck, on Thanksgiving Day, to say they actually didn't have a truck. Luckily, a location was found just a bit further than our original booking. I say all of this to say.... the stressor of moving is challenging, adding in scrambling to find a vehicle to drive 650+ miles while balancing everything else on a major holiday is entirely unfair to a customer who made a reservation 6 weeks prior to their move date. I am disappointed that we even had to go through that and when we move again in January we will be seeking other resources, for the reasons highlighted above.ASHLEYELIZABETH H.

I have some really bad experiences with other UHAUL locations in the past but this specific location and team where organized, well trained, and the equipment was well prepared and maintained. My only issue is a UHAUL issue where I got a truck that within the first few minutes was already on low gas. Trucks should be given already with full tanks (and you must return them full as well).JARED C.

The storage room hours are not convenient for people who work 9-5 Jobs, Monday-Friday, given traffic time. I always have to wait until an early Saturday mooring to retrieve my items. You have a really awesome employee by the name of Rasheed, I believe I got the name right. He is worthy of a raise and trust me, I am not being paid to write this. He helped me every single time I moved my items, in/out of the storage room, if he was available to do so. My storage room was very dark on the inside and I found droppings on my boxes when I was moving out, so I know there were rodents roaming around my belongings Also, someone had some oil that dripped from their storage space into my space which could be the cause of that problem. The location is convenient and you have 3 good employees I've interacted with, unfortunately, I can only remember one person's name, because of how helpful he was.Melissa R. | Overall Experience

I was in need of a 10 ft truck. I called the 370 Orange Street Newark NJ location direct to inquire and reserve one. The manager on site told me he didn't have any but had a van. I called several locations in the Essex County NJ area and all 10 foot trucks were not available . Thereafter I called the 800 number to locate and reserve a 10'. They kindly reserved my exact request and told me to pick it up at the 370 Orange St Newark, NJ site. I'm wondering, why did the uhaul store manager mislead me? It's a huge concern. I picked up the truck at 10:30 AM and the manager asked me if I'd be back by 12 PM with an expression as though he need the truck returned by noon. I'm asking myself, why is he attempting to limit my time to 1 1/2 hour? In my opinion the store mgr at the aforementioned location exhibited unethical behaviors. All customers should be presented with same courtesy, rules , and regulations. I'm so very grateful for your 800 customer care line. If customer care were not available the store location mentioned would continually provide service based on favoritism and/or other incentives.JACQUELIN J.
This location has impeccable customer service skills. Immediately upon my arrival I was greeted by Michael. The quality of care given by all the staff was by far the best experience I've had at any of the UHaul locations that I've patron. Prior to ultimately going to the Orange Street location, I was sent to two other locations which were unattended. The first location on So. Orange Ave in Newark, was basically a sealed up building abandoned with no staff. The 2nd location I was sent to was unattended and had a phone number on the window for customers to call. I called the number and was told he would try to get there in 30 minutes. If this is how UHaul conducts business count me out. However, I must say that the Orange Street staff were very nice and professional and the facility was very clean.JOHN F.

I had problems with the link from my phone camera in taking a picture of the milage and gas. We worked around it and all data was confirmed at drop off. I accepted the insurance because of the area (aggressive drivers) but it was expensive $50.Kevin L.

You have to make it easier for a customer to return the truck at an after-hours location such as a convenience store there was no lock box provided a lock box was for removal of a key if you needed the code that was not provided to me so I can return my vehicle on timeRobert A.
The guys were chill but the lady with the ripped jeans (her jeans had a hole so big on her back pocket that my mother called it out because of concern) was super rude and unprofessional. She threatened that I am â€œgoing to learn todayâ€ while I was trying to figure out how to handle the payment since I didn't know I couldn't pay in partial cash. Also, when she opened the right side door when checking the truck, the rubber came right off the edges. This did not happen at all during the 3 days I had the vehicle.MICHELL C.

I've sat on hold 3 times for a total time of more than 2 hrs to hopefully get this handled. It is the worst wait time I've experienced next to unemployment. I still do not and have not received a refund for fees that I was never supposed to be charged. Someone called me after the correspondence email last week after I had already spoken to repetitive twice the week prior, but there has been no reimbursed fees present in my account. Again I mention, these fees were a mistake of the branch that I returned my rental. This is beyond frustrating. â€œSorry for the inconvenienceâ€ was told to me multiple times. â€œI apologize for calling the wrong numberâ€ was also said. â€œPlease understandâ€ with another reason was communicated. I'm incredibly inconvenienced and upset. I don't know how you remedy this situation because I would never use Uhaul again after this experience. However, I am due a refund and it has been more than a week with nothing present in my account.Justin M.

The staff was amazingly pleasant and efficient. The female whose name is Okyia I think was very knowledgeable about the process and explained what I needed to know to perfection. The young man made sure my car was clean before I left and he was understanding when a mistake was on my bill and quickly fixed the issue. Wonderful place, environment and employees. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and accommodating. My only problem was that I called an hour before my arrival to be sure that the unit was ready (late afternoon 2:30pm) I was assured that it was ready. When I arrived the unit wasn't ready yet. The assoc stated that he had to clean it out. He gave me my key and asked me to wait. I walked to the unit with a piece of furniture, the unit door was open, & the unit was lined with glue traps along all four walls and a live mouse on the trap. This was completely unacceptable. This should have been addressed before my arrival and before handing me my unit card. The assoc was there alone with a line of people.
