Reservation originally made 3 miles from location. uhaul called and stated website was wrong and truck was available at location that was another 3miles away. I get all the way there for them to hand the keys for my 20ft truck to the people at the counter next to me and then said they ran out of trucks and were double booked. I made my reservation days ago, and didn't even ask for this store. no compensation for inconvenience, smaller truck that required the use of POV as this was not large enough.Jennifer D.

Let us know the full price for rental services on the app I had two transaction because of it it just makes the place look funny like why not give us that rate you say 19.99 for rentals my full prices came out over $50 including the .99 for miles but also said I had to pay a rental fee a which is understandable why not put that in the order as well?Janeshia S.

Honestly, there isn't anything that I would have to say that requires improving. Even with a scheduling conflict and the time of my appointment being pushed back a few hours my vehicle was still completed and out very quickly and the work quality is immaculate!! Kudos to the entire staff, and I will most definitely re-patronize this location as well as recommend them to any friends or relatives if any services are required of a U-Haul facility! We reserved an appliance dolly with our order and when we arrived to pick up our truck and the dolly we needed we were told they didn't have any and gave it to someone else earlier. The uhaul place did nothing to help and messed up our move. We had to go buy one. I also called the 800 number and the automated system said it was a 40 min wait I put my name and number in for a call back. It called back told me I was number 1 in the queue then it told me it was a 50 minute wait again I redid the call back and when it called back the second time it told me someone would be on shortly then the system hung up on me. Highly dissatisfied with your customer service. The person at the site called us later after 4 pm to tell us she had a dolly for us finally which was too late nor was I driving back into town to get it with the uhaul and paying for extra miles.MICHAEL B.

Don't charge customers a late return fee when equipment was returned on the same day it was rented (Check your security cameras). Secondly when you charge them a late fee of 21.40 and only credit them 20.00 after the customer spends hours/days trying to correct your mistake, is that not a lack of business professionalism? Simply put I'm ashamed that Uhaul whom I've done business with over the years may not see any future business from me in the future. Reference #3357962Darrell M.

I was lied to, miss treated, and ultimately robbed by the U-Hauls that I dealt with this weekend. I had only one day to execute my move so I planned ahead and reserved my equipment the right way. When it was all said and done I got half of what I requested in terms of rental equipment and it was over half a day late which led me to have to resort to other means. I was then charged double even though I was promised I had unlimited mileage. I would really appreciate if somebody would get in contact with me about this because when I call the corporate phone number that was provided to me I get hours of hold. Not so much with this location but I was very disappointing when making reservation online and a site says that have vehicles available and you get there and the attendant says no not really its just a ploy to get you to come in. I feel this is a big waste of time. I also placed and order for a truck and the location was moved without prior contact to a location that was over and hour away. Again this was unacceptable. Either you have vehicles or you don't it should be made clear upfront. I would say that the 425 S Marine Blvd Jacksonville, NC 28540 did meet my need they were just short staff which created a longer than usual wait time.Edward M.
Amazing staff! Very helpful and attentive to customers. They were very busy but kept their cool and managed to conduct themselves in an outstanding manner. Also incredibly compassionate the young man that ran after a customers puppy ran off towards traffic and got rescued by this employee.Jose M.
I booked the appointment online for the next available time and date. I took time off work to go get my hitch installed, and was told that the parts were not in stock, I had to wait almost 3 additional weeks before the parts came in. In future it would be helpful to have staff ensure parts are in stock on the agreed-upon appointment date, or at the very least, notify the customer before they take the time to drive all the way to the premises to be refused service. The staff at the Jacksonville Uhaul were very respectful and helpful, this is not their fault but a flaw in the Uhaul online booking system.David F.

Bethany Romans claimed a glitch in the system moved me out of my brand new unit that she gave May 27th 2021 and my original unit 1375, which is why I wasn't getting rent due notices for unit 1386. She did not know where my things were so for two months I was dealing with the idea that uhaul lost, stole, or sold my things. Someone else's name was put onto my unit yet no payments were made. Ridiculous! I was lucky I took pictures and documented everything to prove it was my things in the unit. As Bethany was fixing HER mistake I and my emergency contact started to receive nasty threatening late notices. I also received an absolutely devastating and threatening lien and sale notice that sent me into a panic attack. I am a rape and abusive victim, my children dealt with abuse as well from their father. We were literally running away from him and trusting uhaul to house our things during this incredibly difficult time. Instead uhaul made me experience anxiety, stress, fear, and panic. I had to drop all of my life and plans and a lot of money, to spontaneously drive from Michigan to North Carolina to retrieve my things as I did not feel they were safe any longer. When I arrived I was able to use the new keys Bethany fedex to me to unlock one lock. But there was a second lock with black tape on it, essentially uhaul holding my things hostage. I had to inform the staff yet again of the situation but they could not find the keys to that lock and had to manually remove the entire lock mechanism from the unit door. So that I could take my things. I absolutely refused to pay anything more and had to say I will call the cops or fire department to cut the lock off. All of this took even more time out of the important things I had to and while there I was shaking in fear that my ex abusive husband would show up and get me. Also during the two months my things were missing uhaul was absolutely impossible to get a hold of. I could never get the actual store on the phone and wait times were hours long. The whole company is a joke and we, my friends family and anyone that will listen to me, will never use them again. Call me, Grace, 5178972146 for more explanation and to hear the devastating impact this experience has had on my life. I believe Bethany Romans should be fired for her incompetence in this situation. Waited in line while only one person worked counter, manager and other counter personel were talking instead if assisting customers. Trailer had random parts laying on the deck and ratchet straps were torn indicating pre checks not completed. Need more customer service and courtesy. I lost my key on the Uhaul lot while transferring items from my vehicle to the Uhaul truck. I asked for assistance in locating them as it was on their parking lot. They said no and asked me to call lockout services? The truck was open so why would I call them. But they were quick to walk back in and get prices for the key which just annoyed me Secondly, I elected the mobile pickup instead of the counter. The tuck was in the cut so it was hard to find. Then they told me I had to come in regardless of the mobile puckup?! During this pandemic that's not what I wanted, but they couldn't care lessCasimir A.

Have the right size vehicle for me at the right time when I guarantee reserve it. Needed a 15ft had to take a 26ft or nothing. Had to tie down everything so it didn't slide around and break due to the space I could not fill. Cost me extra in gas as well.CHRISTOPHER D.

When a customer calls to say they will be a bit late to pick up their reserved truck and you tell them not to worry, don't tell them they are "lucky we didn't give your truck to someone else" when the customer shows up. Porter neck Wilmington NC location was not helpful, my uboxes were ever late. It was hard to get a hold of anyone. I did receive a refund, an apology and my uboxes were delivered from the Wilmington location to the Jacksonville location which was helpful. They are in need of more staff, more people to drive and drop of the uboxes.katlynn J.

The front desk woman was super helpful, perky and polite, though her supervisor came out and snapped at her several times while I was waiting. Maybe the supervisor could use a management training course? Being condescending to new employees when they are training is not a helpful teaching tool. Though the front desk girl did try to deflect when I said something about how out of line the short haired woman with the gauges was to her, said "we are all a team!" and was very upbeat. I could tell she was still learning and the supervisor was frustrated, but it left a bad taste that someone would be so contemptuous to another 'member of the team.' As a boss, I am very aware of what gives women managers a bad reputation - and gauge girl was hitting a bunch of negative stereotypes. The guy who actually installed the hitch was also professional and helpful. It took about 75 minutes, and he helped with directions also.Kendra W.
Arrived for 8 am guaranteed pickup to find a line of people who were not able to pick up their rentals because no one showed up for work. One lone employee showed and was quickly overwhelmed. The manager finally arrived and did not display food customer service. The additional equipment was not available per manager. When we arrived to return the truck we received the same type of service. We weren't given clear instructions. A woman told us where to park. When we went inside to find out if someone was going to come inspect the truck with us we approached the same woman who told us where to park. She responded that there was a man outside that told us where to park and wait from him. We just looked at her and stated to her that she had told us where to park. She preceded to have an attitude and told us to just go outside. The man that approached us outside was very nice. Unfortunately I didn't catch either males names. I don't leave reviews, but I'm hoping in giving an honest review, the employees at this U-Haul location will be able to receive constructive criticism and step up their game. I called this u-haul just trying to find out if it were possible to have my u-box container changed from me picking it up to getting it delivered. I was on hold for about 15 minutes, once someone did answer they had to transfer me to the scheduling department because she didn't know, on hold for a couple more minutes, and once I got to the scheduling department the man who answered couldn't even answer my question! He had to take down my information/question and assured me someone would call me back. A 20 minute phone call (18 minutes of which I was on hold), and I still didn't have an answer to my question. I waited all day, no one ever got back to me so I called again in the evening. (The receptionist from the phone call before gave me the direct number to call for the scheduling department instead of calling the main number). Again, on hold for close to 10 minutes. When someone did answer, I gave them my info/question, to which he replies that he can't even help because he's an employee at a completely different u-haul in an entirely different state!!! What?! I had the direct number, how did I get to a completely different state? He transfers me to where I need to go, so more holding, get to a lady who again has to take down my information and assured me that the man who can answer that question will get back to me. Did anyone call me back? Nope! I end up driving down to the u-haul location the next day just to get an answer to my question. No one seemed to be able to answer it, plus they didn't even know for sure if my u-box container with all my stuff in it was actually there (even though I had received the email that it had arrived a few days before). Completely frustrated at this point, I told them to just leave the original reservation of me coming to pick up my u-box container the next day, which they responded they didn't even have that scheduled?! What? That was the ORIGINAL RESERVATION when I made it a month priorâ€"how did they not have it scheduled?! It's a good thing I ended up going in to try to get some answers. Their only redeeming quality is that everyone was very kind, but they really need better training and just to be better informed about their job. I don't know what that looks like or what that entails, but one thing is for sure I will not be using this u-haul ever again nor recommending it to someone. ***UPDATE*** Next day, sadly, they could not redeem themselves. Had to rent a u-haul pick up truck to move my u-box container, but we had to wait around for a very long time as they didn't even have the U-box ready even though we had scheduled the time 24 hours prior. As we are waiting, an employee came up to us and explained that there was miscommunication and unfortunately we were not going to be able to take our u-box home today. We had wasted over an hour of our time (and used our gas to drive there) to get my u-box (that has been there for a week now) and we are leaving without the container. WHAT?! The employee who was helping us ended up leaving halfway through helping us because she had just worked a 10 hour shift and had to wait around for another 15-20 minutes for the manager to come in from moving stuff around with the forklift. The solution is that everything will be ready tomorrow morning at 8am and we are getting a discounted rate on the pickup truck to move our u-box container. Discounted rate? With the hassle we have been having, it should be delivered to my front door free of charge. I don't know if everything will be ready tomorrow morning at 8am, but I won't be holding my breath. I wish I could give zero stars. While all the employees are very kind, it does not make up for their incompetence.Luis S.

I got nothing but a hard time. They did not have the storage unit I reserved, so they said they would give me a larger unit for a discounted price, then told me I could not get 30 days free because they cant discount a unit and provide 30 days free and gave me a hard time.
