The cargo van had only 4450 miles ... a wonderful piece of equipment. I have only 2 quibbles: 1) the interior driver's window needs to be cleaned (we drove both ways into the sun and found it aggravating) 2) Paperwork said the tank was FULL. Not true - it was 7/8 at best. I put 126 miles on it. If you divide the miles by the gallons I had to pay to refill it ...the average MPG was 6 MPG. I can't believe this brand new modern van can only achieve 6 MPG on the interstate. The claim that the tank was FULL when picked up had to be false. Just another poorly managed teenager not paying to details.

Your 800 customer support for extending rental is EXCRUCIATING to deal with. Hand offs & call parking nightmare, especially since different 'zones' are involved. Ya gotta nationalize this, since regional support does NOT integrate at all.

The staff here are great and extremely helpful. The store is always organized when I come in to pay a bill, access my storage unit, etc. I am extremely happy they take the COVID guidelines very seriously to keep the community safe. Great job, keep up the work and keeping us customers safe and happy during these pandemic times.

Everything at the Naugatuck location was great, the scheduler that called to inform that the truck I reserved a month earlier would not be available at the Naugatuck location, was not helpful at all. Telling me I would have to pick up the truck at different location and incur the extra miles. This was not acceptable to me, I purposely reserved the truck early to insure I would get the truck I needed at the location I needed. I was told they couldn't drive the truck the 6 miles to Naugatuck for me, that I would have to pick up the truck in Waterbury. I had to change the date that I needed the truck and the Naugatuck people were able to accommodate me.

The facility itself was very clean. The problem lies with the staff. There have been times when I have stood there while the employees argued about who was going to wait on me. One occasion I went in and the back door was open and there was a stench of marijuana. The final day my Son used his debit card to secure the truck but was assured that when the truck was returned I could pay cash for the truck and they would release the hold on my Son's card. It did not happen, then charged my Son's card and mumbled something about not being able to fix it. I'm glad I'm done with my storage units. I had four total at one time. I would go to another U-Haul facility in a different town.

I was the wrong person to send this to. This place SUCKS!!! I was the first person to ever rent from this place. They were still in construction. Twice I paid late fees and told them I was done and then I still get notices. They say I still owe 1500.00. It's been empty for months. Customer service they have none. Go take your business somewhere else. I wouldn't let my worst enemy go there

I Was told when I picked up the truck that if we happen to need it for a few hours longer then scheduled to just call. We ended up needing to do that & when I called to say that we would be back with it for 9, instead of 7, & the guy says “ the person who told you that was wrong and didn't look ahead to see the truck booked. “ when I told him that's not my problem- he told me it is my problem & that if I don't bring the truck back to these customers immediately for their rental time that I would get a “pretty hefty fine.” While I understand business is business, his attitude was poor, especially for a mix up on YOUR end. Properly train your employees to all be on the same page! Moving is stressful enough, I didn't need the drama from Uhaul as well.

Terrible service, truck had check engine light on, there was trash in the truck ( a vape) , manager was terrible, I rent frequently from you guys but I will no longer be a customer , not to mention, previously I had called and reserved a truck a BBC when I got there, I was told that there were no trucks left, after I had reserved one, two times in a row I've had bad experiences here

When I checked in, the manager who was at the desk was too busy handling a personal matter with another employee (boyfriend possibly) to provide me with accurate information. I had to walk back in to get more details on where to enter and on the size of my storage unit. Then later that night I arrived 3 minutes after access hours, but thought I could still enter where she indicated on the map "AFTER HOURS" entrance. That was NOT the case at all, so I had to call and be on hold for 30 minutes until I was finally helped by Wanda_fauber@uhaul.com. She was wonderful; however, if I knew the management was so aloof and unconcerned, I never would have stored my belongings at that facility on New Haven Rd. Naugatuck, CT.

The storage unit that I rented was great and very convenient. The experience I had renting and using that unit would be 5 stars. However, I had a huge problem with getting my UBox from this facility. It was stored there while I was moving and when I needed to get it, I called and reserved a trailer hitch to move it. It was confirmed to be reserved for me at 5pm a few days later. When I got there right before 5pm, they told me they had run out of trailers and that they'd have to go get some from the Waterbury facility, and that it would be only half an hour at most. I went back and checked at 6pm, an hour later, and they still hadn't even left to get them yet. My trailer didn't even arrive until 7:38pm, then they didn't have the tools to hook it up to the UHaul trailer hitch that I have on my car, so they told me I had to rent one of their trucks to tow it. So all in all, $80 to rent a truck and 3 hours later than my reservation, I could finally tow my UBox to my new home. The staff seemed completely apathetic to my situation and dragged their feet the whole time. I honestly think they were waiting until 7, when they closed, to go get the trailer, hoping I'd be gone by then. But I really needed to move that day and unfortunately had to work into the night because of the delay. That is what makes my experience below average. I would rate it poorly, but I am taking into consideration the positive storage unit experience as well.

the only issue I had was when I booked the pick up location, it was right around the corner from my home, then the night before I recieved an email that I had to pick up vehicle 40 min away. An inconvenience as I had to arrange for different method to get the truck. Its really too bad you don't have a service that someone could drive the truck to the location originally booked for pick up,

Need to check lights on trailer before letting it go. Mine had a rear taillight out, and a side marker light flickering. Also, one of the tires was in very poor condition.....nearly bald over a large area.

I had a 7am appointment to pick up a van. I was driving to Virginia to move my mother. The person didn't arrive to open the building until about 7:25am. By the time I left the uhaul I was late getting the kids to the bus. So this made my entire day late.

The only reason I was at this location is because the location I reserved (Waterbury) did not have my truck because the previous customer returned it here instead. I feel the two locations should have communicated so that I didn't spend extra time going to the first one only to have them tell me it wasn't really there. Even when I got to this location, the truck wasn't ready because the key had been misplaced. This caused me to spend another 45 minutes waiting while they tried to track down the key. I just felt that overall my time was not particularly valued.

Best service ever! Van was clean and in perfect condition. The gentlemen we dealt with (pickup and return)...Raymond Morales was a pleasure to work with. Extremely nowledgeable, efficient, personable. I am a local artist, and it's easier to rent a van for a show. I had previously rented vans from "other companies"....and it was a nightmare!!!! I had a reservation at 7am and the Naugatuck location didn't open until 8:30am (it was supposed to open at 7am). I had to wait for 90min and made the whole moving day way behind the schedule, and what else do you want to hear from me???

Mirrors missing. Brakes need attention. First van no rear view. Second van half mirror missing on driver's side. Can't believe how lax you are with safety. Tire pressure sign on the whole time. But the dirt and smell were shocking. How about using good old clean rags and soap instead of sour ones and scented products? I am writing. to the consumer protection agency about your substandard safety.

Employee who served was efficient, helpful and process was fast. However, he was wearing an NRA (National Rifle Association) hat and a t-shirt that said "Guns are my life" or words to that effect. A U-Haul uniform would be more appropriate, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but with all the current political issues and gun violence we found this to be insensitive.

The employees don't really know much. I asked on 4 different times to take my Son off of my account and I wasn't done. They lick my storage units when my account was up to date. They argue about who is going to help when I go into the office, they are outside the back door and they reek of pot.

Had some difficulty. Did not get pass key on first visit. I reserved one 10x10unit. When I came to check out the unit Uhaul reserved both a 10x10 as well as a 5x10. I had that corrected to one 10x10 and when I came to move in the 10x10 unit was given to another person. i finally had to use two 5x10 units. Needless to say this was very inconvenient..

I attempted to use after-hours access to my unit for the first time this evening. My name was acknowledged correctly when I swiped my card, but then the access code which had been provided to me by U-Haul (AND IS ON MY E-MAIL FROM U-HAUL) was denied. I am NOT a happy customer right now and am considering canceling my contract with this U-Haul!
