We had two trucks from different locations, and the same thing happened in both cases: We booked the trucks for multiple days -- one online, and one by phone. On pick up we confirmed it was for multiple days, but the next day we got a call saying the truck was late, and two families were inconvenienced as a result. I probably wouldn't describe any trailer rental experience as â€œexcellentâ€, but this location is definitely above average. In particular the young man who installed and removed the trailer was great, patiently waiting while I installed my draw bar and freeing the stuck ball hitch when I returned. Thanks Joseph!Graham F.

A general comment when it comes to filing up the petrol tank. It is next to impossible to accurately estimate how much gas to put into the tank, as it is rarely ever full when you rent it... this results in either putting in too little...and then you charge extreme amounts, or too much. I would suggest just starting with full so we know just to fill the tank, or if somebody puts in too much, they should be credited an amount back... if you charge for too little, you should compensate for too much; to not do so is not very ethical... Otherwise no complaintsLaurie S.

Irritated I was!!!! I a rented online and presented myself for pickup at the big agency close to my place, (which is great) It happened that they didn't have me on file because without knowing I actually rented the truck to another U-Haul dealership just 300 m away. This other place has no visible sign in the street in only operate one or two trucks. I had to cancel and go with the big agency that I like. I lost precious time doing that and I think it does not serve you very well. Graciasfrank D.

I rent from this location fairly regularly, it's the only one on the North Shore and it shows. Staff were friendly but I asked 3 times (2 different staff members) if the floor of the box was 15 feet long as I was moving a 14.5 foot long item. They both said yes without checking. Got to where I was going and the floor turns out to be shorted than 14.5 feet. Had to drive with the item sticking out the back and the gate tied down. Attempted returning the truck at after hours, spent 30 minutes in your lot trying return the truck via the web site. Guess what, the web site doesn't work (as usual). They tried to charge me a $20 return fee. Thankfully your call centre service is much better than your location service and they waived the fee the next day after waiting on hold for 30 minutes. Get you act together U Haul. Oh, and it's 2022, maybe spend a few grand on an App rather than some ancient web site. If there were any other rental options in my area I'd never return with my business.Robert A.
The reason I am unhappy with this latest vehicle rental is that I refilled the gas tank (1 block away from your location) back to the same fuel level as when I received the Van. I just reviewed the emailed Transaction Receipt to see I was charged an additional $22.14 for 10l of fuel. I called to dispute this extra charge but the guy wouldn't help. It's not a lot of money; it's the principle of being charged for more gas after I just filled it back up to the level I received the Van. James - 778-886-8055James P W S.

I was told someone would call me the day before my pickup to confirm all the details - no one did, then at 9am on the morning of my pickup (scheduled at 10am at a specific location), I received a text informing me my order had been changed and I was now expected to pick up the vehicle at 2:30pm at a location an hour away by transit. when I called to sort it out, I was told there was nothing they could do except move my pickup time earlier, so I was forced to pay for an Uber out of pocket to make it there on time. the representatives at the location itself were lovely, but I received insanely poor customer service and communication overall - don't make any plans expecting uhaul to be reliable.Caeleigh N.

Don't rip off customers. The kilometre charges are ridiculous. Despite returning the truck with the same amount of gas, you charged me $17 to top it off. Clean the interior of the pick up. My rental stank. Won't be renting from u haul again.David C.
- Really great location in a calm, beautiful neighbourhood. (Great to grab food/coffee after dropping it off the next day!) - With 3 staff at the counter, there was almost no wait -- a huge relief as we had to meet our movers in time which was amazing! Good business hours, too (thank goodness you're open on Sundays). - Able to buy additional materials (e.g. mattress cover, etc.) that we had forgotten about. Suggestions for Improvement: Show the different types of dolly on the website (we almost got the wrong one. If I didn't think of asking, we would've ended up with a 4th horizontal (flat) dolly instead of the vertical one that we actually wanted. - Inform customers to arrive early and account for extra time to upload photos with damage, if needed.Priscilla T.

Include a line in the car check over to make sure the yellow tags on the roof are in place prior to the trip. We were told to check the roof for scratches/damage prior to the ride but we hadn't used the service before and didn't know about the yellow indicators at the top (if they break Uhaul knows of damages). When we returned the vehicle, they pointed out one was broken (which we 100% didn't hit anything) and we may have to pay for damage. Thankfully the service reps were very helpful and checked back through past photos to find out it was from a previous driver before us, and confirmed it wasn't our doing. If we had known to check for the yellow indicators in our earlier inspection, it likely wouldn't have been an issue at all. Besides that, was great!Jonathan B.

Stairs only, no elevator. The passcode I was emailed is incorrect and I was given a card and it doesn't work. I was told on my second visit not to worry about the security code and just walk up the stairs . When it comes to the actual check in for the storage unit, everything was fine. But the problem was that I also rented the uhaul van because I was moving. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. They have no respect for their storage at this facility. They literally BLOCK ACCESS to the storage by parking large trucks all around it!! There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? This Uhaul experience is the most unexpected in a negative way. Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.Emily Y. | Overall Experience
I had an emergency to leave where I lived..I had looked for 4 hours for a rental van. I came upon Uhaul main st. They were so helpful and supportive. Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. I moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn't get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn't really have anything to say about it, very much a "what do you want me to do about it" mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn't have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn't seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he'll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn't comforting and clearly not working.Stephanie B. | Overall Experience

I had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry.
