The young man who waited on us in store was efficient and fantastic, but he was overwhelmed and the line was 8 deep with people because of understaffing at the location. Same with the one guy working out in the yard - he was working very hard and the location needed two people in yard readying trucks. Result was we got truck 1/2 hour late due to understaffing.

Many times the gate was blocked and the entrance they had trucks parked and I couldn't get back to my unit. They also raised the rates recently

I understood the rate for mileage was .79 a mile. I realized that they were charging me .99 a mile. They told me that it was changed because I changed the pickup date. They were going to check into it and get back to me the fallowing Monday and would call me and never did call me. I don't feel I should be charged the extra money.

The reps at the Mechanicsburg location went out of their way to assist me in my rental. Great job ! While the system had me dropping it off in Capitol Heights I was informed by the U-Haul rep that I should be able to drop it off at a nearby location less than 1 mile form my destination/delivery. point.

After dropping the van back at the site at 12:15 PM I got a call that evening around 6:00 PM asking when I was bringing it back. Obviously something when wrong with the take-in process. The agent called me back a few minutes later saying he found the van. My receipt reflects a 6:00 PM return which is incorrect. Also I was charged $22.50 for 5 gallons of gas for 45 miles. That makes the mileage at 9 miles per gallon. I would have given an excellent score for the pick-up service but not sure what broke for the return.

Poor experience, disorganized, long wait, if you call you will be put on hold for 20 minutes, not a customer friendly experience at all, use another brand if possible. A lot of things about the process they use for reservations make zero sense.

Rental and return was easy. Employees were courteous and helpful. You could use more employees to expedite the check in but I realize that isn't your fault as ALL businesses are struggling to get employees these days. All in all a good service for a reasonable price.

I rented a dolly, a hand truck and 2 dozen blankets. The truck didn't have any of them. Luckily I was able to remind them before I left but they still forgot the dolly. They did refund my money but it was still an inconvenience.

The personnel at the location was very nice and professional. However, I was told that I could use two different credit cards and when I went to charge the U-Haul I was told I couldn't. This caused a lot of drama and unnecessary stress for me. The truck leaked inside the cab when it rained and we were not given any reimbursement for this highly uncomfortable inconvenience we endured from New Jersey to Florida.

To me & every place I ever worked, the definition of weekend is Saturday & Sunday. So, your customer service rental associates should make a point of explaining at the time of making a reservation that U-Haul has changed the "American Heritage Dictionary" definition from Saturday & Sunday to Friday & Saturday.

I was almost an hour late for the drop off. Waited in line for a half hour till I got served. You need more help. I got the final bill and saw I was charged for an additional day. I called the Mechanicsburg office and was on hold for 20 minutes then it transferred to customer service. I was told nothing could be done. Bull. $55 gone. I don't expect a response but we'll see.

Complaints- 1st truck assigned was not there. 2nd truck assigned only drive about 10 feet and stopped moving forward, and air not working (and had lots of scrapes, etc). 3rd truck worked. As a result of above, took more than 40 minutes to get a truck inspite of using online system. I had to wait at counter (per online system would not have to). No directions as to where exactly to return truck to. Staff had just locked door and ignored me, would not answer door or phone. My agreement said to return truck by 9pm, but another part of system said it was to have been returned by close of business, which was 7pm. Entire experience was frustrating and stressful.

Equipment I originally ordered was incorrect. They worked with me to fix the issue but I was still delayed a half hour by their discrepancy. I informed the attendant I did not know what time I would be done with equipment. I was told it was not an issue, and I was still double billed when I went over the time they arbitrarily chose by 19 minutes. I will not be using this location again.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I scheduled this in July and just now got it done in September… zero communication from the facility offered me no discount for the inconvenience. Once they did say they could install it they had my car for a full day and called me 4 min before they closed to let me know it's done and I couldn't pick my car up that day. When I did pick it up they didn't include the disconnect and ball which I originally had on my order and they were out of so now I still can't use the hitch! Worst experience!

Apparently it is impossible to be assured a booked truck will actually be at the desired location at the desired day. Two bookings fell through. In our case, on the second try, we were able to switch to a smaller truck, which worked out fine.

We used the mobile pickup. Arrived a half hour early. Could not locate the vehicle. The first employee working was not helpful. A second employee came out and assisted us. The mileage was incorrect which required further from inside staff. All in all the mobile took us longer to complete than had we gone in and picked it up. Very frustrating.

Maria, the site manager in Mechanicsburg was awesome. One of her employees seemed a bit annoyed when I simply asked what time the actual storage area was accessible to. He may have been off the clock but I feel that it was a very simple question with a simple answer that could've been answered without an eyeroll or sarcasm. I feel that even off the clock he represents U-Haul (especially while walking out of the office IN UNIFORM) and puts off a bad vibe when interacting with customers this way. Overall I am still quite satisfied with the rest of the staff's performance and my interactions with them. And, as previously mentioned, Maria was very friendly and a joy to talk to.

Overall good experience. Was disappointed to learn on check out that I would not receive a credit for unused days. I checked out of my facility mid cycle. The unit is now available to be re-rented. This was not readily disclosed (though I concede it may have been in the fine print).

Maria and her staff at U-Haul Mechanicsburg were flooded with business on Friday, Jan. 15, when I returned at one-way from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were literally running from customer to customer who needed service and assistance, and did so professionally and courteously. Not only was I returning a 10-foot truck and a obstinate tow dolly (the straps were a bit stubborn), we also need a storage unit assigned in the midst of the chaos. They took care of everything beautifully. I will highly recommend this location to anyone.
