Train the workers to be more friendly and lean how to say thank you and you're welcome . Our rep was named Christian Garner . He was not friendly didn't say hi or thank you , he charged my card 3 times and had an attitude. These workers need better traing and how to be kind and polite to the customers.

Even on cooler days, the building was quite hot (above 80*F). The elevators are dangerous due to the doors not staying up when opening/closing them. We'd have to push it up and rush into the elevator quickly to avoid being hit or the gate hitting our items. With other more modern and safer options in the area, I won't be using this facility again. However, the staff was helpful!

Truck had serious BO smell to it. Truck was hard to start. Had to crank several times on several occasions. The self drop off system did not work. I am usually very pleased with uhaul but this was a disappointing experience.

Store manager Denise was EXCEPTIONAL. She helped me get the required equipment (26' truck) with pickup at desired location and time, which has been non-existent in my past experiences with UHaul. She also gave me her cell to call in case I needed help on Sunday. She understood customer need.

when actually getting in the truck - I had opened the door to see if it was in there - another staff person asked an employee to place a utility dolly in the back of the truck - that is literally what he did - - he tossed the dolly in and walked away. No acknowledgement - no helping pull the door down - perception was that he didn't even want to be there.

If a person picking up a rental tells you that this is their first time, I believe it would be VERY HELPFUL to have them practice opening and shutting the door correctly - making sure the handle latches before letting it raise up to not cause a jam. Also it would have been VERY HELPFUL to have had me pull the ramp out there and put it back to make sure I understood how hard it needs to be pushed for the latch to come up and secure it. That kind of help is the best and most practical and would have helped us to not delay our departure for 3 hours. Just pay attention to people when they tell you it's their first time to use one of these trucks. He asked me if I had any questions and I said I did not even know what questions to ask...the details about the door and ramp are unknown to some of us and should be explained at pickup like Jon from INLAND did such a good job of doing - after we had jammed the door and had to call for service.

They had the mileage entered incorrectly that created an 18,000 mile difference than the 10 miles we drove and we couldn't turn it in online and had to go back the next morning to settle it. Then he tried to charge an extra day because the computer recorded us two minutes late. However, when we dropped it off, I took a picture of the time on the dash with a view of the building out of the windshield, as proof we were on time in case of any discrepancies, since I couldn't do the online drop off until they fixed the mileage issue. The gentleman who helped us was friendly but seemed like he was trying to weasel us out of our return deposit.

The second floor units are difficult to get to. With two old freight elevators, one of which being broken on multiple visits and the other not always available, it was not terribly convenient to access my unit. I moved to a more modern, ground floor storage facility elsewhere.

My rental was initially set for pickup at the Dirby, KS location. I advised them I would be driving 600 to 1000 mines and confirmed I would be getting a newer 26' F-650 for the journey. Several days before pickup I was told they don't have a vehicle and my reservation was sent to the 1000 E 13 in Wichita, KS. The vehicle I was supplied there was a 2007 GMC with 200K miles. This vehicle had damaged seatbelts, exhaust leak which made gas mileage even worse than normal, the suspension was damaged causing it to bounce like crazy, the steering is so bad and worn that the tires would pull me in different directions (not normal drift). I was supplied a truck that is legally not safe to be driven on the roadway by manufacture and Government standards. The seatbelts alone caused this vehicle to not be legally road worthy (I'm a vehicle safety inspector for a large insurance company and have been for over 10 years). U-Haul put me, my wife and our newborn son in a position to either drive an unsafe U-Haul and risk our lives or we had to rent a vehicle for my wife and newborn son. This is unacceptable on all levels. I've used U-Haul and only U-Haul over the last 20 years and I've never had this kind of issue. The management team (all of them) at this location needs to be coached/trained on how to properly confirm the vehicles are safe for the road AND that they're legally able to be driven on the roadway. Please get this truck off the road before you literally kill someone.

I was given a truck with a quarter of a tank of gas. I believe there should be at least a half tank for a local move to avoid multiple trips to the gas station in a 20 foot truck.

Cell reception in front of the building is pretty poor, making to app based self pick up difficult to use. Maybe provide WiFi on the forecourt area to make things simpler. But overall a very simple process from booking, to collecting and even returning.

Denise and Christian went above and beyond, even though they were very busy on one of the busiest days of the year and in the midst of difficult weather. We rented a tow dolly for a truck we had rented from a different location (Junction City). They caught a safety concern, found us a new truck, and helped get the reloading done. Kudos

I tried to get a military discount for this u haul for over a week, I stayed on hold for more than 2 hours on two seperate occassions and never got to talk with anyone. I was told that I could get a 15 percent discount for moving my daughter from alabama to kansas for a military move and never recieved or had the opportunity to speak with anyone

Make sure to take a photo of odometer and fuel gauge, The miles and or fuel level in question, video should show my return time. From pickup to 16th & Hillside then to 1022 sterling st. Return to 16th&Hillside ave. With a fuel stop at Q/T purchased $6.61 in fuel (topped tank) then to drop site.

I was supposed to pick up the trailer at 977 S Woodlawn, but when I showed up there was nothing there. Had to call the main office to figure out the problem, The attendant at S Woodlawn was not helpful at all and they don't deserve to be a UHaul dealer. Had to drive from South Wichita to North to pick up. Make you think about find someone else for my rental needs.

I called Monday morning at 7 am and was on hold until 8:45 am. I drove all the way from derby to the location and the store was not busy and no one was on the phone, so I am unsure why my call was not answered. I was over changed , it shouldn't cost $200 for 2 days to have a uhall.

The lady at the front desk is incredibly nice and helpful, I'd almost go to this location just to specifically work with her. My one and only complaint would be the ignition on the truck not working properly and having to “do a trick” to get it to start each time.

I am REALLY PISSED at U-HAUL for last minute change in pick-up location. I chose you guys BECAUSE of your convenient location. When you changed location to one that was VERY INCONVENIENT, you earned my undying enmity. I greatly enjoyed working with Denise! She was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and understood my somewhat unique situation. I was going to store my belongings at another location, but she also assisted with showing me the storage facility. The facility itself wasn't as nice nor as well maintained as the other one, but Denise was so helpful, I went ahead with U-haul.

I don't have a recommendation for improvement, other than to encourage two people to keep up the great customer service: the woman who completed the contract at the desk at 3:15 PM on 6/11/2021, and then helped attach the trailer, along with Jaimie who was working in the parking lot. Both went out of their way get the hitch to slide into the rusty receiver tube. Without their help and persistence, I would not have been able to drive away with the trailer. They are amazing!

Very rare that I would say "excellent" of my own free will. I have become accustomed to antagonism, masquerading as service. NOT in this case AT ALL. You have an excellent service person at this facility. Further, it seems apparent to me that you have repurposed an older, existing facility with modern storage equipment and security features. I am extremely impressed. It seems to me that someone has "re-thought" and somewhat reinvented Uhaul as a modern competitive company, much different from my experiences thirty years ago. Such a pleasure to see where this company has gone, particularly in an Era when "obstacle-tech" has become a prized asset of so many otherwise, product desirable companies.

Locks were placed on my unit twice and I wasn't notified. First time they didn't have a key and wouldn't cut the lock off!! Took 2 days to get a resolution. Second time they acted like it was no big deal because the circle lock is required and free when you rent the unit. Wasn't given one when I rented and had been there a year. Worst customer service ever!! They also charge a $20 late fee if rent is 1 day late. Will never use them if I need storage in the future.

Arrived at 11pm. Spoke with representatives earlier that day and the previous day. I let them know I would be in late. They made no mention that I would not have access after hours. Next morning. Based on the unit number we assumed the unit was on the 2nd floor. No stairs anywhere...eventually we realized we needed to take the freight elevator just to find the unit. Silly and excessive, stairs would be fast and efficient. The first representative I talked to said there would be a lock in the storage locker. The next day second representative said there would be no lock. So of course I had to pick up a lock. Finding a lot to three trips to different stores. Eventually I found one and of course there was a lock in the locker. Not sure why they were the mixed signals. Two days ago I called about the free first day for college students promotion based on the COVID-19 move out. I was told I would receive a phone call in return. I'm still waiting
