The 2 employees barely spoke at all. The truck I had was beat to piss. The check engine light came on as well. They quoted me a full tank of was really 3/4. The Dolly zip tie was broken and blankets were missing in back of truck. The truck was so ran down I was nervous driving it.

My complaints come with some understanding. The state of the cab was reasonable for a fleet vehicle, but was dirtier than I've experienced with rental vehicles. There was a residue and unpleasant smell throughout the cab (I've encountered this frequently since COVID, so I assumed it is the standard COVID cleaning substance). The charging outlet did not work, which was a major problem because this rendered my GPS unit unusable and I had to use my phone (with no way to recharge it). The final destination was Bronx, NY, which I am completely unfamiliar with, so I had to take much longer breaks during the trip to charge my phone so I wasn't completely lost and without a way to contact the party that I was meeting. This added about 2 1/2 hours to the trip. And finally, when I returned the vehicle to the Uhaul location, I stayed in the vehicle as requested by the sign and waited about 15 minutes for someone to come out but no one did. I finally gave up and went inside and found 1 customer and 2 Uhaul employees. I'm not sure if the employee that wasn't directly helping the other customer ever intended to go out to meet me, but I could see that there was a monitor showing the equipment drop off site and when approaching the site in the first place I noted that there was one of those tubes that dings when you drive over it, so I'm sure they knew I was there. The employees were nice enough during the interactions, though.

The truck was pretty clean....but the cargo area smelled like fish! REALLY smelled like fish. It was rough. And there was a half-eaten burrito and a bag of chips behind the driver seat. Kinda nasty. One of the back tires had a slice in the sidewall and was flat. I hadn't noticed until I got out of town and too far along to get that fixed. A little worrisome, but everything worked out fine. All good!

When I picked up the vehicle, the inside of the truck was dirty, food debris on the console and overall not clean. I believe the gentleman that got me going at 7am in the morning was Tracey or Terry.......he was great to work with. My truck had broke down and I needed a rental to make my trip. Also had to leave the keys for my truck with him so the tow truck company could pick up and take the vehicle back to Detroit. Thank you Tracey!!

Our location got changed the day before our truck pick up and we were never informed. so after wasting an hour trying to figure out what was going on...we were told to go to the E Broadway location. Our initial pick up time was supposed to be 8. I called the uhaul number and Kevin helped and was very friendly. He was also confused why no one called me or emailed me to let me know about the location changed. So he told me to go to the W Broadway location for a 9am pickup. The store door said it was open at 9, and we got there at 9:03. Doors locked and no one in sight. We tried calling the general managers number on the door and no answer. The worker finally showed up at 9:12. Kevin gave us a $50 credit but I honestly wish more would have been done. We went from 8am pickup to getting our truck at 9:30. Everyone was frustrated waiting around at our storage unit while we were trying to figure out what was going on.

I allowed the U-Haul employee to hook up my car on the dolly. He hooked it up improperly resulting in damage to my vehicle. When I claimed the damages U-Haul said it was my fault I didn't tighten the straps. Fuck you U-Haul.
