I tried calling the location on several occasions which is located on King's Highway , Maple Shade , N J. My call was rerouted to a gentleman in Ohio. He said he could secure my reservation and answered a few of my questions. He too ( Like the voicemail states ) assured me my first month's rent was free! Upon arrival, Amy listed stipulations for the free month concerning the truck.....I told the gentleman in the am I only needed the truck to transport several items 5 minutes away. Still guaranteed my first month would be free......Well , she refused to honor this. After this , she then said she had to secure my card in the amount of $ 100.00 when I used a debit card and the fee was $ 39.00 something, the rest would be credited back......MADE NO SENSE EITHER......We return the truck and a very lethargic girl is sitting very low to the ground texting on her phone. No friendliness or eye contact. This has been a horrible experience all the way around. Not sure of what your reps could do better. they answer the phone quickly and are very accommodating. they were very helpful in extending my rental and were always very pleasant. they insured renting a van, extending the rental time and the return process was quick and easy. thank you.Daniel W.

My unit is in an unmarked building next to your main building that has appropriate signs. I had to go in and the rep walked me all the way to the building. While I did sincerely appreciate her assistance, that was a bit too difficult. I guess the building is new. Secondly, although there is a security door with a code, a second entry is required just ten feet from the first one. Why? Thirdly, there was a totally unlocked door 75 feet away that any stranger could access. While I believe an alarm would sound if a unit was opened without a code being entered at the main door, what about someone who is more interested in vandalism?DANIEL V. | Online Move In

I was charged $50 because the gas gauge was reading 1/8 tank when it should have read 1/4. Just before dropping the truck off after hours, I put enough gas in the tank at a gas station 1 block away, so that the gauge was reading above 1/4 and closer to 3/8. People who drop the trucks off after hours should take a picture of the gas tank with the mileage. That was a rip off.GEORGE S.

Consistent failure to charge at times due even though on automatic payment and resulting fraudulent charging of late payment fees. Had to challenge each and every month. Staff are disinterested and incompetent.. Facility had no a/c and no lighting for a good portion of the hot summer months. When I got there to pick up my 9 o'clock reservation there had been a line that form behind me at 9:23 the store was still not open. Upon arrival of the store employee she open the door ran to the register I gave them my information there was no apology or anything I have people waiting on me at another location who had plans for that day and we're helping me out. I gave her my tax exempt form and she tells me she doesn't know how to do it but I have to turn it in when I when I return the vehicle and they can do it then. I return the vehicle the same young lady was there who was nice and a gentleman. I handed the gentleman the tax papers and he tells me that he can't do anything it Hass to be done when you first pick up the vehicle. I explain to him that the young lady sitting over there told me that she didn't know how to do it and he said I can't do it I can credit the tax and another form on the receipt he asked me if I would want it emailed or print it and I said email was fine he said I didn't have to wait while he went through the truck. Not long after I left did I get the receipt that had no credit for the tax and the tax was still there. When I expressed my dismayed to him as I was walking out of the building I made a comment about the location not being open on time and she didn't know how to do the texting it was just very frustrated and he said that the late opening was his fault but he too didn't offer an apology. Anyhow that's when I went on Twitter which I normally do not do and expressed my dissatisfaction. They told me that the manager should be reaching out to me within three days. I thought great she'll call apologize adjust the tax everything will be all good. I got an email with aCredit for the tax nothing in the body of the email that apologize for the incident no separate email because I was told that those emails come automatically. I have yet to hear from the manager since Sunday. So I will not be using this location or recommending it ever I will use another company or drive miles to get another vehicleREGINA C.

I reserved a 5x8 trailer 4 weeks in advance and was told 2 days before I was to pickup the trailer that only 4x8 trailer was available. This inconvenience made us reduce the amount of furniture we need to move to SC.OTTO M.
Everything was quick and easy. Luckily I was able to change from a box truck reserve to a van once I arrived. Just had a quick pick-up to make down the street at Home Depot. Always hectic there. For example yes we have a second floor unit but it is accessed only by STAIRS,or we have a unit but NO elevator .. Never would I imagine walking into this place, confirmed reservation previously and would encounter the blatant rudeness, unprofessional, disrespectful behavior by these two employees. At the end of the experience it was necessary to call another location for fear of returning to this hellish experience. Javine from Somerdale, true professional, helpful walked me thru drop off on line. NEVER ever again. Amy is awesome. She spent all the time that was needed in order to answer my questions and bring up some points that I did not think of. In addition she helped me with an issue that I was having with my pool water. There was another gentlemen there, who name escapes me, but between the two of them they made one of the more stressful time is my life (moving) more pleasant . Place is very clean, they are very helpful and take pride in their work. I thank them and commend them for that. It was very loud in the lobby. Many conversations going on amongst staff members. The young man checking me in was speaking with someone standing next to him and was distracted. He was distracted enough that he gave me the wrong storage unit and the manager notice when I called her for help because the map didn't match the actual floor plan. Mask sign is on the door to wear a mask but the staff either didn't have one on or it was hanging under their noses or under their chins. The building doesn't have a working computer system so the doors are just propped open all day. I understand the units are locked but security of the building is non existent! I was not walked out to the van to check it nor did he even tell me where it was or which one it was. I was told to try the key in them to see which one it opens. My phone encounters with the Manager Amy Lucas were pleasant, informative/thorough and efficient. Generally U-Haul of Maple Shade was very patient, accommodating and flexible during the unit selection process and processed unit transfer(s) as necessary (that ensured I obtained the appropriate unit size and pricing for my needs). However, in my encounters of other frontline staff workers I experienced lackadaisical personas and unprofessionalism: Individuals who were not as knowledgeable or thorough, an initial failure to request updated contact information to bring my profile current, and an attempt to dissuade my need for unit transfer on site (in the absence of Mgr Amy Lucas). Ultimately, all my concerns and the required system updates were addressed and rectified upon receipt of follow-up call from Manager Amy Lucas who ensured 100% customer satisfaction!Victoria D. | First Impressions
