Today was an AWFUL experience! I reserved a Uhaul and selected counter service because I was having an issue with the internet service on my phone. I typically do it via mobile. Immediately a staff member named CEASAR was very rude to me from start and refused to service me at the counter despite me telling him ahead of time that there was an issue with my phone. I called into customer care because the general manager was not there (ceasar said that he was a manager) and because of their notation about my interaction CEASAR became irate and refused further to help (this is not my first horrible encounter with this staff member) After a bit of verbal back and forth Ceasar called the police on me. The general manager Tim was very nice and assisted me with the uhaul as well as the police situation and i do appreciate that.

When I reserved the order, it asked if I wanted mobile pick up or to have an associate do it in person. I selected to have and associate do it for me, as I have in the past. When I arrived, I was told I still had to do everything on my own phone. I had to give the associate my phone which made me uncomfortable due to all the personal information stored on that device. I reserved a dolly, in the past the associate has gotten the dolly for me or it was already loaded into the truck. I was told “go around the building and grab one myself”. I also had to complete my own inspection on the vehicle and confirm on the phone. By the end of the experience I felt like I was the uhaul employee. I could see if it was after hours or if I had requested to do things on my mobile device when reserving, neither of which was the case. I have been to this same location a couple years ago and ALL of this was done for me, the CUSTOMER, by the employee. Why are you even paying people to be there if customers are forced to do everything themselves? I understand new technology and that’s not an issue but it was not more convenient OR faster and I’m beyond disappointed in my experience. If this is uhauls new business model then I hope they are prepared to lose a lot of business. I know I won’t be back.

The truck was VERY clean which was a welcome surprise. Staff is pleasant and helpful. The self check in feature was slightly confusing as was expecting to check-in with a person but once I figured it out it was easy. All in all great experience.

The shifter on my truck was busted. Every SINGLE time I went to start the vehicle I had to spend a good ten minutes fiddling with it just to get the dang thing to start. Absolutely ridiculous! I want a f*cking refund!!

The younger gentleman who took care of me at pickup was awesome. Very kind and professional. There was actually somebody in front of me in line making quite the scene and yelling at the employee. This young man stayed professional the entire time and proceeded to jump right to me after he was done. Had a smile on his face the whole time. I was very impressed. As for the facility, it was clean and tidy. The trailer I rented was in good shape with the exception of the tie downs, they were very old and moved hard. Thankfully I had some WD40 in my truck and was able to loosen them up. Overall a good experience.

They took the truck so we didn’t have to go through the hassle of using the app. When we asked about a refund for materials that weren’t included, the manager said there was nothing they could do since they didn’t supply the truck, it was a different location.

Only giving excellent review due to the 2 young men at that location there is 2 parts to my experience. The first being the two young gentleman that helped me throughout the entire process absolutely pleasant and helpful! Answered every question I had, corrected entry problems and cudnt been more courtous n custimer friendly! Those 2 Gents were fantastic!!! 2nd part was two female at the location on 2/21/24 not helpful whatsoever, doors locked at 6:50 nor were they willing to help or answer any question. Told that all move ins are done online n that’s what I needed to do. Proceeded to do the online move in while in my car than recd a t/c stating that they were sending me a link which I never received. Watched the two females locked up the store leave while I was still trying to process my account. No assistance at all offered nor was a swipe card given to grant me access to my unit. So needless to say the info of do it online n there’s a bag w a lock n instructions inside the unit for me was not accurate nor helpful at all. Also, had questions on a reservation along with the online reservation n if I wud still be entitled to a free month of storage and not reserved two units and billed for them both. Thankfully when I returned in 2/22/24 the two gentleman were both there which I was grateful for their kinda assistance. Only outstanding issue currently is not given the free month of storage had to pay for the 1st month and advised to speak to the General Manager at that location.

The location was good, the process was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Something that used to take 5 - 10 minutes with an agent took me almost an hour trying to be automated or "self-serve". It was too damn invasive to have to take pictures of myself and my license and send it SOMEWHERE to be verified, as opposed to having an agent do it on site! Everyone in the world is NOT ALL RIGHT with all of this cyber stuff! AND having to use a code to get a key out of a box - that was up too high for me at 5'2 - the whole thing was maddening and utterly ridiculous. I paid almost $80 to do close to 90% of the work myself! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

PROS: Truck was clean and available at scheduled time. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would use this U-Haul location again. CONS: My reservation was converted to a 24/7 mobile pick up, presumably because it was scheduled for an "after hours" pickup or return per the message in the email. Both my pickup and return times were within normal business hours. I was told when picking up that all customers were being encouraged to use the mobile app for pickup as a normal course of business. Staff were around to help me if I needed assistance. The 24/7n mobile process was slow and cumbersome, forcing me to take photos of myself, my Drivers license, and passport and uploading (via a weak cell signal) for review by someone located elsewhere.

Me. Personally, I would never do self drop off. Because I go round the truck with the employee show them that there's no damage. It is clean. I wouldn't want them to tell me. Staff was excellent and friendly and helpful. However, upon moving into a brand new storage unit located in a brand new building, a window 15 feet from my storage unit started pouring water inside due to heavy rain. This is/was very concerning seeing how I paid and selected indoor storage specifically to keep my belongings out of the elements. There was another family accessing their unit right near ours who were also very disappointed.

The manger Tim and his staff were overwhelmingly helpful, patient, understanding. Their kind attitude made my experience a very good one. I certainly recommend anyone who needs to rent storage use the Manchester location. The facility inside and out is extremely clean. This location ensures your belongings are safe and will remain in the same condition as when you placed them in the unit. The staff is always pleasant and has knowledge to share with customers to meet their moving (truck rental) and storage needs. If you want a successful moving/storage experience use 432 Oakland St., Manchester, Ct. 06042 location.

The facility itself was fine however my experience was not. I made a reservation online, and had the email with the reservation number, yet when I went in, they had no record of me at all. Then, on the day I tried to move in, the facility wouldn't let me POD be in their parking lot. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this would be, as a POD and a storage unit go hand in hand. I then had to spend the entire afternoon on the phone trying to figure out what to do to make things work and had to spend even more money on renting a truck to unload the POD into and then bring to a facility. I ended up cancelling the uhaul unit altogether, never having moved in, yet was still charged and never got my money back. Overall, terrible experience.

The sales rep charged my card WITHOUT CONSENT (illegal) when the first month was supposed to be free due to this being part of a one way trip/storage unit bundle. The manager made it right by giving me my second month free, however when you budget funds and have important things to pay for during a move, things like this throw everything off. Absolutely unbelievable. My unit also had a mouse trap in it, so I’m not sure if this was precautionary or as treatment, but I got insurance so if anything happens it’ll be (hopefully) compensated. A terrible overall experience for a move.

Card reader never accepted my card. Made a reservation via phone for storage, and that reservation was never filed. Ended up with a unit only because one was still available. Made another reservation online. Called the day of move-in and was told there was a 7 day grace period to sign in at the office before the reservation expired. Arrived the next morning. A man at the next counter was angry that they didn't have his reservation. The clerk then started my interaction with "don't worry we take reservations seriously. We don't give them to anyone". A minute later I was being told that they had given my reservation away and it was really my fault for not coming the day before, despite the clerk remembering that I'd called and she'd said there was a grace period. Oh, and some moron decided it would be a great idea to install oversized speed bumps across the entrance/exit so every time you move cargo the trailer hitch gets stressed and the cargo gets jostled for absolutely no reason. I've moved to a far more professional facility.

I respect the staff but they were incompetent (or badly trained) which led to confusion, frustration, lost time and money for the customer. Slow truck pick up time (uhaul employee talking endlessly with the customer in front of me). This is not a restaurant where you make small talk to get a tip. You're supposed to make the process quick and efficient so the next customer can pick up their truck in a timely fashion especially if you're the only employee there. Poor training. Nobody knows what is going on. They kept asking me who told me about the one free month for storage... At least they honored the free storage month that was promised (after a call to the manager, which wasted more of my time. My movers were waiting for me in the truck and I was paying them $200 per hour) So a 10 minute delay from uhaul employees cost me more than $33. Bad experience.

The staff here is FANTASTIC!!! Very helpful, knowledgeable, positive and good natured!! The only “knock” on the facility is when we went to move my mothers belongings out of storage, there were rodent droppings all over them. I hadn’t expected to find that, but understand the challenges a facility like this faces.

Uhaul customercare told one thing and the store manager says another. I have an upcoming one way truck reservation and when I booked it it gave one month rental but then customer care told us we could move in today and the website also told when I entered the uhaul reservation number that my first pay will be on September 26. The GM, Madeline Sanchez, was wonderful and did everything in her power to ensure that I had a positive experience from helping me find the right size storage unit, walking me to each one to ensure I could access them, returning my truck, and making sure there was no water damage after a heavy rain. Signage for where to go and what to do is very poor. I waited for 20 minutes with just one person in front of me. I was sold a lock for the storage unit. Then I found a complimentary lock in the unit. I asked the office for a refund of the one I purchased. This was denied since I didn't check into the unit with online app. If I knew check in online was an option I would have saved 20 minutes and not been charged for a lock!

I rented a storage and the associate was adamant in charging me for the lock. I was confused as to why because I thought it came with it. When she carried me to the storage there was a padlock provided in the empty unit but unfortunately for me the associate quickly grabbed it. I asked her if that was left for me and he lame excuse was that the previous renters probably left it. Really? An unused and unopened padlock. Lucky for her I was crammed on time and had to move my stuff into the unit and be out of town by the end of the day so I did not have time for the small details. I will be coming back for my refund as I confirmed with another uhaul facility that I should have never been charged. On the bag it says COMPLIMENTARY. It should be mandatory for all stay to know the policy and be able to read their products.

One person working in the front, finally another person comes to help but he's not familiar with the process so had to end up waiting for the other lady anyways to help.
