I had reserved my trick for Newark, Del and 12 hours before pickup for a notification the pick up wa son Marvern, PA ??? A distance of 34 miles from the original location and that the time had beed changed from the morning til noon. I was able to call and get the time changed but had to drive 50 minutes to get the truck. THEN I got CHARGED FOR EXCEEDING THE ALOTED smiles and I was told I would not be. The personal at the Malcern site were fabulous and very helpful. I should have been told much earlier of the location change and received a discount but in the end cost more moneyâ€¦. Why? Location is fine. The Uhaul software leaves a lot to be desired. Too many questions to set up the rental with time outs that cause you to re-book and then end up with duplicate reservations. Just a giant pain. The constant â€œloadingâ€ screens will eventually drive someone to find another rental service.Alton L.

I am not sure what happened but I was called 2 days prior to my reservation (which was booked a month prior) and informed that they cannot get me a truck within 30 minutes of my place so they sent me to this location. They said I have to pickup at this location and that is the only way that I can get the truck I reserved. I accepted this and drove further to get the truck that they stated in an email would be guaranteed on this day at this location. We called the morning of the reservation and someone said everything was fine. We showed up to the location and they did not have the size truck available. They were not sure what happened and also could not tell us if there is a truck of that size nearby aka the only thing they could do is give us a smaller truck with no explanation. Or they offered that we could call a 1-800 number to see what someone else can do but then we might lose the smaller truck they were offering. The smaller truck may not fit what we were moving but we felt like we had no choice. I really do not understand where the miscommunication breakdown occurred or what happened here, but it was very inconvenient and frustrating on many levels. I also felt like we were not being actually helped any step of the way. Very unfortunate situation when moving is already stressful enough.JOSHUA Z.

Both locations we used were fine. However, the fact that we didn't know which location would be used for pick-up until 8 pm the night before is a bit ridiculous. I believe the only reason we even knew where to go is because we called the â€œpreferred pick-upâ€ location at 7:30 pm, even though we received an email from UHaul saying they would call us by 6 pm (never happened). Also, â€œpreferred pick-upâ€ on my UHaul account showed Norristown until AFTER we called to confirm that we even had a truck to use. I booked the reservation on 4/18/22 - I would expect to get confirmation well before 8 pm the day before we pick up the truck. All representatives we talked to were nice, but please update your system with the ACTUAL pick-up location on customer accounts rather than having us hoping it's at the preferred location. Strongly considering never using UHaul again in the future.Ian S.

The service, ease of pick up and drop off was excellent. The concern was the driver's side door was not securely attached to the truck. The door had to be slammed to keep the "Door Open" signal off and there was a very clear gap between the truck and the door even when the door was locked.June A.

You can't leave your personal cat there while renting. U have to park across the street at a wawa and hope your car does not get towed. Terrible . They dint walk you out to the car and review the car with you. Images of the van that you were renting was clean, mine was filthy. Awful. General manager was very nice. Staff wheni returned not sure of his/her name not welcoming very impersonal. If they were not open on Sunday, I would recommend going somewhere else.brian O.

Despite me having a reservation number for a storage unit, I was informed that no storage unit was available.Robert M.
The online instructions for picking up the vehicle are inaccurate as you do not need alternate forms of ID and relatives' phone numbers, etc. if you have a valid driver's license. The U-Haul APP needs work: 1) Essential parts for picking up the vehicle do not fit on screen, placing the CONTINUE button out of sight while making it unclear that the self-photo is needed BEFORE photos of the driver's license (which could have been collected during reservation phase with only the self-photo needed at pickup). Using the app did nothing to expedite picking up the vehicle as I still stood in line for a long time just to get the keys after the stupid process of inspecting a beat-up vehicle to see if all existing damage is already marked (it frequently isn't). For returning the vehicle, the app sorta locks the user into jumping out of the APP to a webpage that more-or-less says there's nothing the user needs to do, and nothing asks for odometer nor fuel level. This location's return process has you park behind a sign that says to stay with the vehicle until a representative comes, but after about 15 minutes I went and got a representative who chuckled at the signage as if nobody was ever going to come. I ordered pads and the vehicle had none, and I spent almost an hour on-hold calling the branch office before hanging up and getting into the corporate call hold queue to have them remove the pads from my invoice. The vehicle wasn't in horrible condition, but it wasn't stellar either, and I think it unacceptable for a truck to be picked up by a customer with less than 1/4 tank of fuel in the face of a policies saying that it must be returned with at least that much fuel AND ALSO cannot be returned with less than 1/4 tank without an additional "penalty" surcharge. They did seem to adjust the invoice slightly for additional fuel, but I don't have the patience to determine if the math was fair. My complaints go on and on, and I definitely won't use this particular U-Haul branch again, and am likely to seek another rental company for my next move.Randall H.

You shouldn't be charged for a second day if you bring back the truck the same night. I was also charged a $10 fuel fee even though I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel.Matt R.

I was guaranteed a 26' truck for 5 day. One day before picking I received a call stating that I can only get the truck for 24 hrs. This caused me to change many plans. On day of pick up I was told that they didn't have any 26' trucks, but a 20' one was available. At this point I had no choice but to accept. I was unable to fit everything in the 20'. The truck has issues with the steering and AC, only works when stopped. This was the most unpleasant rental. Please replay, I'd like to heard what you have to say. Thanks, Chris MaddenCHRISTOPHER M.

When I arrived to get my keys the customer service person was very rude and refused to help me stating there were no storage facilities left. I went out and asked my father to speak to him. He told him the same thing. After he explained several times we had a reservation the man went to get someone else to help us. The unit had some mildew and pieces of insulation hanging down. The most difficult part was closing out the contract, I got everything out one evening after hours and then couldn't get in touch with the facility because they don't answer the phone. We reserved a 10x10 unit and unfortunately when we arrived with all of our things we were storing, we were told there was no 10x10 units available. We were not notified of this prior to arriving with our Uhaul truck full of items we planned to store in a 10x10, and we had to make multiple trips to take things back that could not fit in the 5x10 unit we were given. Storage unit was fine, but the commuication between the website and office does not exist. I spoke to two office staff two months in a row to put me on auto-billing --- I was charged later fees each time because they didn't do it. Then when I checked out, I used the website because clearly the office staff didn't follow-though. Guess what, my check out was not processed.
