I reserved (over 10 days in advance) a truck, two dozen blankets, and a hand truck. 1) On arrival I was told, "that's a lot of blankets; we don't have that many." Really? What constitutes not "a lot" of blankets? I mean, they rent them by the DOZEN. 2) I did not see the hand truck listed on the rental agreement I was supposed to sign. When I asked about it, I was told, "we don't have any hand trucks available for rent. But you can buy one." Ha ha! Why didn't they offer to provide one of their hand trucks that was for sale? 3) The guy gave me the key to the truck and acted like I was supposed to carry the dozen blankets they did have to the truck and do the condition check myself. I insisted that he accompany me to do the condition check together. When we got to the truck, we discovered that the cargo door had been left open. Of course it was raining! So the entire cargo box was wet inside. I insisted on a dry truck - couldn't use a wet cargo box because we were going to haul antique furniture and boxes of artwork. He had another (dry) truck available, but he could not locate the key! Apparently the "new guy" has a pattern of losing the keys to the trucks he checks in. After a while, the guy mopped out the truck and dried it as well as he could. 4) By that time, another truck had been returned, so he was able to provide me with the second dozen blankets and the hand truck. Of course I had to ask! 5) The guy was nice and actually apologetic about the condition of the truck. But it was a matter of course that they did not have sufficient blankets and the hand truck. And I had to do the asking and insisting - even though I had reserved WELL IN ADVANCE. The standard of operation at this location is poor quality - and evidently that is okay with the management. 6) Because the guy was nice as well as apologetic about the truck, I rated it two stars; otherwise it would have been one star. 7) The truck itself was fine. EXCEPT that it did not have cruise control! Are you kidding?! 2,000 miles later I'm still working out the cramps in my leg.MARK R.

I have rented from U-Haul at this location many times. They have lots of trucks all the time, so it is easy to get the right size truck and all the other moving equipment. The pick-up and drop-off were easy. No problems.THOMAS S.
I was told I would only be charged for 1 day if I brought the truck back by 9 am. I was charged for 2 days anyway, and was only asked if an online receipt was ok. I assumed it would be automatic, and I wouldn't have to ask to get the second day refunded.Jeffrey T.

The equipment rented and the rental place were fine, however we booked a moving partner through UHaul called MovingHelp, and they never showed or even called. We ended up paying for our UHaul truck and never were able to move any of our items. A waste of the $78. It is now the next day and after leaving 2 messages with MovingHelp, I still have not received a follow up phone call to tell me why they never showed. UHaul should not partner with this company.ANDREW W.
The only issue I had was I was assigned a truck that was blocked/parked in and had to switch trucks. I think it would have been nice for the employee to know where vehicles are and assign one that can be taken out with more ease.MARK R.

The transmission on the vehicle is about to fail. It would go into a lower gear on a hill/slight hill at the touch of the brakes and then I oftentimes could only get the truck out of the lower gear by shifting to neutral and then back to drive. The car frequently fought my intentions/needs to speed up or slow down. Highly recommend a closer investigation because it is actually a bit dangerous for the driver here in PA due to rolling hills and winding roadssMICHAEL D.
Previous renter of this vehicle certainly was a smoker and obviously was smoking inside the van. The van had a heavy smell of smoke that unfortunately made it difficult to drive without having the windows down. Other than that, everything else was ideal.PATRICK M.

They would not accept the auto transport because the equipment number didn't match what was in the system. They made us sit in their parking lot and call customer care ourselves then the employee at the location ran around with my phone yelling at the lady on customer service who agreed that I was all setup to return the transport at the location. We almost missed our move in time because this took so long. Had trouble returning the truck too. They don't want to give you a receipt for anything and then you get billed later for charges you don't understand.DAKOTA C.

I reserved to pu truck at Hallmans no truck there. was on hold 40 min to find out the pu location was changed to Lancaster Pike but no one told me. Went there to get truck but the equipment I ordered was not available. Was 1 hr late getting home, but movers arrived as scheduled and I had to pay $200.00 for them to wait for me to get home with the truck. I had to buy a furniture dolly. Uhaul only offered 50.00 in compensation for not having equipment. I am out $200.00 to the movers for waiting for the truck, mileage and gas from Lancaster location (Hallmans 3 miles from my home), purchase of dolly.CHRISTINE J.

The uhaul we rented caused damage to my husbands car, the expensive contents we were hauling, and mort importantly put our lives in danger. Our daughters were in the car and were lucky everyone is ok. Terrible horrible experience with an outdated trailer that was not safe to be on the road.BOOTH H.

No parking is provided when you rent a vehicle. I didn't know this. So when I arrived I asked where I could park and they said they don't provide parking. So I had to park across the street at WaWa. Customers should be notified ahead of time they should be dropped off as no parking is provided.Christine B.

The equipment that I ordered was mostly not available. The most crucial was only made available when I noted that having no utility dolly was a deal-breaker then they had a dolly. Keep some surplus equipment. Moves are huge deals to people.Marcus L.

I didn't like that there isn't a requirement for the amount of gas in a returned vehicle. I think that a vehicle should have had at least a half tank. We were given a van with a 1/4 tank and told we only needed to bring it back with that same amount. I understand this but it added time to my move because we immediately had to get gas and returned a truck with significantly more gas than the one we received.SCOTT L.

Don't give customer truck with no gas and then not reimburse them the full a mount for the gas that I bought and left in the truck. Dealer reimbursed me 10$ for the hand truck I paid for and didn't receive, and 10$ for a HALF TANK OF GAS i brought the uhaul back with. That is worth atleast $40, you guys robbed me.Kyle W.

The agent at the location I had chosen was initially very curt and unhelpful. He however did help us to realize that the dropoff location we were at, which was the one I chose at time of order, was NOT the location on my receipt. Have ALL the equipment that I reserved ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE at the requested pick up location AND have it ready first thing in the morning when the store opens!! My move from Eastern Pennsylvania to Eastern Ohio was one of the most stressful moves I have ever made because of the inconvenience of having to get the truck a day earlier than I wanted to insure it was ready first thing in the morning for my moving help. THEN having to drive 30 minutes away to a different location for my auto transport. Both locations were clean and helpful. It is U-Haul as a company in general that I am upset with!!Rex B.

Reservation was changed last minute from a 26' truck to a 20' by this site, We were moving out of state the next day and had no other option but to leave some belongings behind. Only compensation they gave was $70 off which did not account for belongings that we parted with and certainly wouldn't have covered us storing our items and making a second trip to move them.KEVIN G.
There is no where to park and this area is suburban. And it makes it very inconvenient to have to be dropped off to rent a vehicle. And the check engine light was on the during the entire rental use. And then the change oil very soon light came on. Doesn't inspire confidence when driving a van on the highway.Stephanie L.
