Juan JerezI'm so glad I received this text message from U-Haul corporation regarding my dealings when renting a U-Haul trailer this past week. I didn't really get a chance to think the people at the location but now that I have this ability to make comments I would like to say I am more than 100% happy in fact to be honest I was expecting a very different experience, I thought it would be a slow process to go through the rental details but it was just the opposite I was in and out so fast and that made my moving experience that much better. They took the time to explain the contract to me and showed me the correct way to use the ramp that was attached to my five by nine trailer. Even when I brought the trailer back I was greeted in a professional and courteous manner. The message I'm writing right now about my experience might sound a little corny but I can't praise the salesperson any other way. I can tell you this much I'm planning another move sometime soon and will definitely go back to that same location where I believe that I am welcome and will be treated with courtesy and respect and I know that from previous experiences I will be getting a quality trailer rental at a very reasonable price.

Troy GuytonConsider digitizing the entire process like a warehouse vending machine. You could keep staff on hand just to stock moving items for sale/rent in the warehouse-like store front. Customers could walk in and serve themselves. Vehicles and trailers could be rented and returned to the same areas with digital mea s to captures and assess damage. Short of that nothing. The process went very smoothly and staff were friendly a d efficient.

Linda StoneRented a trailer and had to find it myself and hook it up myself because nobody came out. Had to wait forever until the worker came and verified that I hooked it up properly and that was after i had to go get him myself. When I brought the trailer back, I had to disconnect it myself because the worker never came over to where he told me to back it in at. Could not park it properly because there was no room to back up. Got no help at all during pick up or drop off. Very unprofessional and will not rent from this location again.

Bill ThomasHonestly I been there for 6 years it’s been good besides them always raising my rent every 6months which sucks I started off at 80$ then cancel my storage after them tellin my stuff goin up to 120$ not including the taxes the staff at the Lincoln park rude takes forever to help you and when they do they have attitude. But I can honestly say the general manager there is a great guy Kevin help me and was very nice n try make me happy the best he could after I had a problem with one of his front desk guys there but Kevin a great manager if I ever decided to go back there which I hope never but it would because of Kevin thank you again.

Glenn WolowiecThe service was great when picking up the vehicle. The problem was when dropping it off because it was after hours. I did the online return like it said in the paperwork, but when we needed to upload a picture, confirming the mileage and the gas level, it would not except the picture to upload. There was another option to select if you were having trouble uploading the picture and I completed the rental return at that time. The next day I got an email saying I was charged for an extra day, a service fee, and a couple other things which I should not have been charged for. I had to call back and whoever I spoke to said it showed in the system that I completed the online return and they had no idea why I was charged all of that extra money. I then had to make another phone call to make sure things were going to be refunded, and even in that phone call the refund was not correct until I explained more and I had to push back pretty hard to get all of my money refunded. So my rating is because if you have customers do their part on their end, the online portion should work as planned, and we should not have to take so much time making phone calls to get money refunded to us that should’ve never been charged in the first place.
Derek BaileyWhen I picked up the truck estimated bill was $74 but when I returned it was a $124. If I went over, it should’ve been $50. I disappointed because the print out didn’t explain it at all.

They did not require me to drop the U-Haul off at a different location which was originally supposed to be for Allen Park Michigan. They were very helpful and I appreciate the Lincoln Park location. Overall, I had a problem with the scheduling/traffic department. They need to do better with their logistics and figure out a way to where they are able to meet their customer needs and be more flexible. I will probably never use U-Haul again for any type of long distance traveling/moving. I would prefer just to spend the extra money to have more convenience and flexibility with a different company.

The second safety issue was that the headlight control was being pushed into the dash board. So I found it difficult to turn on the headlights during the evening driving hours.

The door that you have to go into has no lights so basically somebody could be standing there and you wouldn’t even see them. I didn’t feel comfortable because the door is in a alley with no lights. Had only one employee working the Dass had once I found that my unit had a lock on it I had to wait over a half an hour for service.

The computer system was so slow that even though my vehicle was pre- reserved/registered, it took nearly 45 minutes to process my vehicle/ storage rental. The App continually went down so I could neither verify pre-rental or do the online return. Again Free was there to assist. I needed a larger storage unit than you had available and needed to move to another facility.i also needed a second truck. Dealing with the second location and with 800 rep was so frustrating. The unit I reserved online was not actually available. I was actually sent to yet a 3rd location but gave up and located a closer facility operated by a competitor. (I couldn't get a call back to verify that the unit was indeed available). We were able to return to the Lincoln Park office to return our trucks and again I have already been here 40 minutes awaiting my return documents (and refund for the unneeded lock). BUT: Free has apologized for the delay and is doing what she can to help me. (While teaching all the other team members?) I can only imagine what a dynamo she would be, if the technology could keep up with her.
