This business model is atrocious. I live right next to a u haul center, I see the trucks. I select that as my pickup location and was told no, go to mequon. Then at 6 in the morning I was texted to go to west bend, then again to go to Waukesha. As I drive out to Waukesha I see the right size trucks at the uhaul on the corner by my neighborhood. I then had to drive 30 minutes out, 30 minutes back, then start my trip. What a waste of my day because you guys can't figure out how to schedule vehicles for customers.Kramer M.

When I returned the truck the attendant at the desk said to just give him the key and he would send me an email receipt within 15 minutes. I gave him the key. He never checked me in and of course I never received the receipt. I had to contact customer service by email and they took care of it. The customer service group was excellent and responsive but the return experience was poor. On the other hand, when I picked up the truck for rental, I had a great experience.Paul C.

It took an hour to pick up my trailer as there was just one person working the counter. Apparently the location manager stopped by at some point before I showed up, dropped off some snacks to the single employee working the counter and then left even though there was a line of customers. Will not be returning to this location. U-Haul needs to take cues from car rental companies and design a more efficient process for contracting for reservations.GREGORY L.

The person that I turned the trailer over to told me to remove the trailer from my truck myself and that she would check it in then and email me the receipt. She never did that and I received an email the next day informing me of how to return the trailer. This was disturbing to me since I was told that she would take care of it the previous day and obviously, she did not.GARY R.

I was told the total with insurance would be $38 and some change. I had to be back at 2:30pm the same day. I was back at 2:25 waited outside for 10 minutes for someone to unhook it. No one came like I was told there would be someone. Then after unhooking myself I went inside and waited again. Probably checking in at 2:40-2:45 maybe. And was charged a addition $20. The person at the store told he he had no idea why I was charged $59 and I was supposed to go back the next day and ask the morning staff. Overall everyone was kinda rude and not helpful.STEVEN I.

I selected the option to pickup the vehicle without going in the store. However the key was not in the lock box and I had to go in the store and waited at least 20 min in line because there was only 1 person working the counter. When I got to the counter he just handed me the key. I was really frustrated for having to wait so long. Why was the key not in the lock box?JOHN G.

When I picked up the trailer it took 20 min to finish all the paper work. I reserved tye trailer online because I thought it would speed up the process but it did not. When I dropped the trailer off I parked in the droop off area. I thought someone would come disconnect it from my vehicle. After I waited out there for 10 min the lady just walked up and said to go park it in the lot. She did not disconnect it for me. I don't have any experience disconnecting trailers and it felt very unsafe. The trailer was heavy and almost rolled right into my car when I pulled it off the hitch. She should have helped me! Please hire better employees for this location.Kevin M.

Very hard to get into and out of especially with a larger truck My truck had a check engine light on it and I was told it was ok it was just an oxygen sensor. This affects gas mileage and at over $3 per gallon, it is not appreciated not having equipment running at its peak. The truck dripped/leaked something every time it was parked. Luckily I didn't park in our driveway which was lucky because the stains are still in the street. I made the reservation for the location that is where my storage unit was but was told I couldn't get it there I had to go to a different location. I was told on the phone that because of this I could get a 2nd day at no charge. When I inquired about the additional miles it would also take I was told there would be no mileage fees because it was an in-town reservation. This sounded weird but It was also great news. When I picked up the truck there were no notes in the system as to what I was told on the phone. I was given extra time for using the truck, and some free miles but not what I was offered on the phone. Lastly, the return system was very weird, no paperwork, no nothing, I never received notice of the receipt being complete or an emailed receipt. There was no vehicle inspection picking up or dropping off. I had no opportunity to document any existing issues or damage to the rental while picking up, nor was the return inspected prior to me leaving the location. All in all, everything did work out, but I have had many other better experiences with Uhaul. If this was my first time renting from Uhaul, I wouldn't come back.BURTON R.

I had reserved a 5 x 8 enclosed trailer for 24 hours but turned it in early on the same day I rented it on 11/5. When I was checking it in upon return the U-Haul associate said I would receive an email showing that it was checked in but I never received any email. I hate leaving things open ended because the associate had to start his return process over because something was done wrong so it just concerns me that things were done right.Jeffrey B.

While I have had good history with this location, I am upset that this last rental resulted in an additional mileage and fuel. I drive the vehicle 10 miles exactly. And exactly my estimate because I live so close. Even that 10 miles took two gallons of gas from me. Then they charged me for 18 miles and another 2 gallons of gas. Don't ever leave you vehicle to be checked in by someone else. Do it yourself. What if they crashed it in those supposed 8 miles. I would have been on the hook for that!HEATHER C.

The original order was put in for the incorrect day. A dolly was added to the order when I called to correct the day but it was never added to the order and not available when the truck was picked up. I'd recommend this location only if it was convenient to them.FREDERICK S.

Have more than 1 person working there to check in and out trucks/trailers, especially on a Saturday. Had to wait in line a long time. Was given the number of a truck and a combination for a padlock that had the lift gate locked. The keys were said to be inside the cargo box. Once I finally located the truck I could not unlock the padlock with the combination I was given. Had to search for the one employee who once I found him had someone else waiting for his help for the very same reason. Finally, the one employee took the padlock off and gave me the keys to the truck. The truck was fine except for 3 things: it had a broken passenger door that would not latch completely. I did not notice it until I had already drove to my first destination. Lucky it did not fly open while driving. I did not have a passenger. I informed the one employee about the door when I returned the truck at 430pm. The dash had no headlight switch and the dash illumination for the gauges, etc would go on and off. The gas tank started out at slightly under 3/4 of a tank and I followed the chart instructions to add enough gas to get it back to 3/4, Most rentaI places start and end with full gas tanks. I found this uhaul way of replacing gas, very unconventional and unfair. I put 124 miles on the truck and made a note of it. No invoice/break down of charges from uhaul was ever sent to my email, just a charge showed up on my credit card bill of $171.84. Which seems to be a slight over-charge, Maybe I was charged for more gas? I put in 9 gallons and drove mostly on the highway. whatever.... I will never use uhaul for anything again. I have had much better experiences with other truck/trailer rental and storage companies. This is not the fault of the 1 man you had working there that day. He was fine, he did the best he could, considering. This is a management problem.DUANE B.

The U-Haul staff was friendly and helpful. The Cargo Van we rented was clean, in good working order and made my daughter's move trouble free and efficient. Our only complaint is that even though the Van was returned the same day cleaned with a full gas tank, we have yet to receive our final receipt by email as promised.Stephanie M.

Very disappointing service from check in to check out. Tried the mobile check in with no success and getting the run around from the only service. That took approximately 30 mins. After that was a failure I went inside and was helped by an individual that had no since of urgency and announced service times that this is a "retirement" job. I have had service reservations through Uhaul and this one sucks. I request that this reservation get looked into and that I get prompt feedback.Bradley G.

Employee was talking on the business phone to a friend about looking for cheap cars to buy and fix for resale when I walked in to pick up my truck. He asked me to wait so he could finish his conversation, so I waited for over 10 minutes. He didn't care about me until there was a line of 3 people behind me. I tried to explain my concerns about dropping off the truck after hours because my phone number couldn't be used for an account online since the previous owner of the phone number already had a Uhaul account. He didn't care. He rushed the checkout now that there was a line, although I had been the only customer when coming in, and didn't show me my truck or how to find it, so I wandered the parking lot for it until he came outside to chat with someone else and I asked for his help again. The delay of this service cut almost an hour into my scheduled time and cost me a lot of money. The car had an unsecured dolly in the back. I called the help line to get a new link for the truck inspection because it expired while I searched for the car and asked about the online account again. He ignored my question and resent a link. The truck - like a previous one I rented at this location- did not seem to be well maintained. It had 164k miles on it and ran and sounded like it was on its last breath. Definitely needs to be looked at. The previous vehicle had a malfunctioning seat belt indicator and a transmission that caused "whiplash" at every gear change.JIM V.

Great experience for this first-time Uhaul user. We rented a 20' truck and car transport in Arizona, drove for four days to Wisconsin. Very pleased with the beautiful and modern facility, the convenient location, and the smooth transition to locate our furniture at this Uhaul Storage. Tim and his crew at Uhaul were extremely helpful in getting us settled into our storage unit. Tim talked us through all our concerns. We are confident we are being taken care of at a secure, clean, accommodating facility. We also were able to use their recommendations for movers to unload the truck, which only took an hour. The truck garages were fantastic for unloading with the outside temperature being in the teens. Also very happy about accessing our indoor heated unit at my leisure using the heated garages.
