Jared Macdonald who is the assistant manager that helped me throughout my entire experience. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. It seemed like he had gotten up on the wrong side of the bed and was taking it out on any minorities that came into the store.

I had a problem filling up the gas the needle would not move. I kept putting gas in, when I returned they tried telling me I owe them money for gas I said no I took it at a half tank check your app I sent the pics ge said he couldn't find it and was telling me they are going to charge me cause it was only 3 quarters full. I said I took it at a half tank again he said you owe for a quarter tank of gas.I said no then I went and got me recite it said 1/2 tank. He was very rude I said if anything you should take some mileage off for my inconvenience of the needle not working then being rude about telling me he is going to charge me for to what the app said.NOT HAPPY.

I requested a low mileage truck as I needed to make a 800 mile round trip. I was given a truck with 128K miles, I was not happy. The truck was noisy, the seat was extremely worn and uncomfortable. I encountered winters mix of snow and rain and the wipers made a streaky mess and I could barely see out the wind shield. Should I mention the headlights, I think a flashlight would have produced more light. Needless to say I could have overlooked these issues, unfortunately I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet. On the return trip, about 200 miles from home, the tension idler on the serpentine belt seized up causing belt to shred while driving on I-84. Immediately the water temp spiked and the alternator alarm went off. The loss of power steering and power brakes wasn’t immediately apparent, at least not until I attempted to slow down. Luckily, I was coming up on an exit as this event transpired and I was able to get off the freeway. Getting down the exit with minimal breaking power and a full load was a little stressful and thankfully there were no cars in front of me. I was able pull into a gas station and recover my wits. By far the worst rental experience of my life, I could have been killed or at least severely injured if this had occurred at ay spot other than where it did.

I made a reservation online for a 15’ truck with no insurance or any extras. My fiancé picked up the truck but did not have my card I reserved it with. My fiancé ended up using his card and I received the receipt via text message. The total I reserved went from $30 to $60. I called my fiancé asking why was insurance added? He said he didn’t add it because he just went to pick up the truck as it was reserved. I called and the uhual girl said it was already added and said “it’s better safe than sorry.” I told her I was the one who made the reservation and I never addd insurance. She told me my fiancé wanted to add it on which I knew wasn’t true. I would like a refund. Never went through this before because I’ve already rent trucks there.

The reason I’m giving average rating is because when arriving to the storage unit we were told that the lock hinges would be adjusted because they were loose & didn’t align, which made it hard to close the lock. The guy that supposedly “fixed” it only had to put a bigger washer in the back of the door because the door is worn out were the screw is. But no.... he decided to force the screw tight. Only to realize it wasn’t aligned & then grabbed a drill and just made the lock hole bigger, instead of doing the job properly. You tell me that isn’t some ghetto carpentry 🤦🏻‍♀️. I know for a fact that it’s going to get loose again. If he would’ve fixed it properly he wouldn’t have to come back again when it loosens up again. The lazy work harder & double. I sure hope they don’t try to charge me for something that was already messed up.. mind you that I said yes to the unit ONLY because he said it was going to get fixed for proper use. I’m not the happiest camper but I’m happy with the storage space & the facility is very clean. Just that 1 little detail would’ve given U-haul a 5 star rating but I have to be realistic, so there you have it.

Having rented vans a couple of times a year for years never had a problem. Rented one yesterday whose side doors would not unlock after an hour limiting our access all day catering to the high step rear door for dozen of trips. staff could not unlock when returned At 71 years old not a good day. I did ask if some accommodation could be made on the rental which was only $71 and was told NO. Wasn’t asking for a free bee. Sad response from owner. Lost customer and no recommendations going forward

first off let me start with the truck i rented was a complete shit box..that truck would not pass a state inspection for safety and the transmission is complete shit..2nd off i dropped the truck off 10 minutes before you opened because your lazy worker at the desk wouldnt take the keys and just pointed to the drop box..then before you open you email me a receipt and charged me $20 for after hours drop off?!?!?! so your worker couldnt open the door before the shop opens but she can email me my receipt?!?! this location is complete shit and i would like a manager to contact me ASAP on the $20 after hours charge!.. p.s i rented a truck for 24 hours and returned it in about 14 hours and you charge me an extra $20?!?! customer service is the worst at this location..i did call the lady at the front desk before emailing you and she said there was nothing she can do and that its uhaul policy everywhere

The cab of the truck was not clean when I picked it up (ashes in the ashtray, debris on the floor, etc.). The windshield wipers were horrible a d made it difficult to see through the windshield. I have reported this issue with previous rentals. Furthermore, t hff e truck had no pickup a d it took forever for it to catch gear and get up to the speed. Lastly, I signed up for mobile pickup which I believed would mean the truck I rented would be.ready upon arrival. This was confusing because I still had to go into the store to get the keys. I guess I expected an easier experience. This entire experience was completely awful and the only good thing I can say is that at least I won't need to rent another UHaul in the near future.

Uhaul transferred my original preferred location to this location 20 miles away from my house. This added 20 miles to my millage. Truck only had 1/8 tank of gas told to return with 1/4 tank. Windshield cover still on windshield. Back door open. Wind shield wipers bad. Truck cab dirty.

It snowed the night before. I got a truck with the roof covered with snow. I had to drive on the highway and got stopped by a State trooper for snow flying off. When I pick a truck up and they say it’s all cleaned off ready to go the roof I expect it to be legal to drive.

Took forever to get my rental due to only one person being on duty. So, have more than one person duty in case there are issues that delay everyone else. Also, this is a snow region, have 4wd options. Our van could not get to our loading location due to zero traction. We had to load from 1/4 quarter mile away because of the slight hills that could not be climbed by this rental. Would not recommend uhaul to anyone in the winter months.

I was so impressed with the customer service provided. We experienced a minor incident and had to file a claim, all the representatives I spoke with were so kind, and the general manager called me the next day to make sure we were okay. The transmission sounded terrible and shifted poorly. I wasn’t sure it was going to make it the whole 70 miles. My knees were jammed up because the seat only had two positions (all the way forward or all the way back). It would be great to pay better attention to maintaining the equipment! On the plus side, the truck didn’t break down so I was grateful for that!

The only issue I had was the van I rented was from Arizona and had summer tires on it. We got approx 1.5 to 2 inches of snow and the tires couldn’t get any traction. If you are renting vehicles in the winter month in New England they should at the very least have all season tires.
