I have been doing business with the Marshall Drive location, even though it is a few miles out of my way, because of the team at this location. The manager and his team are friendly and helpful. One suggestion: It's not always easy to keep receipts, so a little improved understanding would be helpful, when a customer needs to return unused boxes. I had spent hundreds of dollars here, but when I didn't have a receipt one time, I couldn't get a refund for unused boxes.dan c. | Overall Experience

he waw rude because it was close to closing time when we dropped it off. There may have been a misunderstanding between sites. He said it was to be dropped off by 3 pm on Saturday. The pickup place in Council Bluffs said anytime Saturday or Sunday. I don't think he needed to be rude about itlTom T.

Between the person that I worked with making the reservation and picking the truck up, the person I worked with at the location when I returned it, and the people on the phone, when I extended the rental twice, they could not have made this experience any easier or better. Making sure the truck is full on gas cuz our was not but how are we suppose to know how much gas to put back in. We notice it after we left and the men knew that when given to us. He said it when i made a comment when we brought it back. We just filled the gas tank up till the pump stopped. So we payed 5 gallons of gas which was 18 dollars for only going 32 miles.Ashly C.

I had a really bad experience with uhaul in Houston, my truck was dropped off at this location and it has been the very best uhaul experience every. Website is very very glitchy. We could not scan the barcode of the return site on the door by key dropbox. The QR code posted was too small for iPhone to pick up and the bigger one was posted 8 feet high (I'm 5'). Site would not accept picture of mileage. It took an hour to return truck and was very frustrating. Upon picking up truck, a lot of damage was not marked with stickers so we had to take a ton of pictures. It took too long to pick up the truck. Also, the final price was much higher than anticipated. Lady inside said I wouldn't be charged extra for using truck past 6 hours since rental fee included up to 24 hours but this clearly wasn't the case. The vehicle also seems to have a transmission problem. Otherwise everything else went smooth. Please fix website for future customers. Gracias.Crystal M.
I miss the customer service side of the experience. I was given my keys and basically told to go find the truck. Then, when I opened the link for the walk around, I didn't realize I would have to do so much. And then all the same at time of return, which was hard because it was dark. I think rates should be lower or a discount should be given for doing all the work. There was no chance to ask questions before leaving or to point out the truck smelled like smoke. I just wish there was more of the people side again. Also, inside, the agent spoke so fast and had a small speech impediment that I had to have him repeat a few things, which caused him to lose his place in his speech and he seemed frustrated with me. I made my reservation 3 months in advance and they did not have the requested equipment (furniture dolly) when we showed up. They did finally find another store in the area that had one, but we had to drive over and get it. What was really annoying is that they charged us for the dolly - then the 'other' location charged us also - so we got double charged on top of the inconvenience. They were so focused on finding a dolly that they forgot to load the blankets. On top of this the "Stabilitrak" warning light came on after about 4 miles on the way home. We called and a service technician came over but vehicle did not store the error code. So the next day - only 5-10 miles into the 200+ mile trip - the warning light came back on. I booked reservation at 7740 Metcalf and was sent to Lenexa without update or explanation. While at Lenexa I was given a 6x12 trailer rather than the reserved 5x8 trailer again without explanation. Then the drop off location provided was different on my paperwork from what was quoted to me at the pick up site or what I had included in my preferences for reservation. I went with what was in writing and it was far away, poorly marked and felt unsafe. We have had good experiences with Uhaul up to this point but this year we have had 3 very sloppy experiences with 3 different adult children. It's seems like a bigger problem.John P.

EVERYONE, at this location, from the store manger to Samantha, to the lady cleaning my newly rented storage unit, to the lady that checked in my rental, ALL the best attitudes at every part of the process. This staff deals with customers not having the best experience on a daily basis. Let's face it… moving sucks. But the staff always stays helpful and has a smile. This location's staff were great! They were fast and knowledgeable. My problem is with main office's customer svc staff - at the headquarters's level. The guy i spoke with was both impatience and somewhat rude. My vehi should have been reserved for a 10:00 pickup time; however he entered my pickup time @ 4:00 pm, instead of 10:00am. I had misunderstood the sizing online. So we went to the office in hopes of getting a bigger unit. I feel awful I didn't catch the guys name, he had blonde hair and black glasses. He helped me upgrade my unit and actually was able to get me my first month free. My children were being, less than model citizens, but he wasn't ever short with me or rude because of that. Security at UHaul is paramount, cleanliness is consistent, and high tech accessibility made it a top tier storage experience. When I rented the U-Haul truck to move one way, I was explained that I would have one 10x15 unit. I said to myself great this will work. I can get through and work with my stuff. That didn't happen when I got in. They gave me three five foot units. No place to put a table to work with things or anything else. It was disgusting. Yeah I was just number. How about that famous saying? Oops, sorry about that. Staff was polite. Walking from the office to the storage units. Talk about trip hazards and hazards. Building was clean. Lights worked. They didn't fix my 24 hour access, so three nights in a row, after having surgery, I was forced to move myself due to movers getting tired of not being able to unload my truck. No one answered the 24 hot line, emergency line, nothing. I've been trapped in their elevator at least 3 times. First two times, no answer on the ejector emergency line, not the facility, nor the facilities emergency line. Took 3 calls on the elevator just to get someone to answer, then they act as if it was just normal. My work schedule didn't match with their facility. To keep me from getting more frustrated with them, trying to just get me out of his face, he told me I would be reimbursed for the days not used, if I excited before the next bill. Then the same guy turned around and said he didn't say it upon my move out. NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO THAT FACILITY AGAIN. but the one on BLUE RIDGE, NOW THAT'S MY SPOT.Ronnie M. | Overall Experience

I like that I didn't need to check in with anyone but the check in and out keypad system was unclear and confusing. I could barely read the words on the screen and ended up accidentally setting off an alarm because I didn't understand what to do. I think an app (with very clear instructions upon download) that allows you to tap in with your phone instead of having to use a keypad would be better. It's also going to be difficult to keep track of the code since it's not something you get to chose yourself. Elevator was broken, there are 3 keypads to get in, but only one is the correct one for registering unit, unit was located in the farthest corner without any notification ahead of time. Wasn't able to switch to any other nearby locations due to availability. Waited a long time to check out because staff seemed unable to help people ahead of me. Many customers were frustrated....one of U-Haul's clerks kept repeating she ''was new'' and couldn't do that. Staff was under-trained in my humble opinion. In Feb. communication w/Uhaul drop-off sites was not well stated. On-line and by phone only info we could get was that there was NOT a drop off station near my new address. The employees are wonderful at the Lenexa location. Its very clean. Clean bathrooms if needed while loading and unloading your truck. Very safe and convenient.
