I want to send a resounding commendation for the young man who checked us in! He was there all Alone, running every aspect from checking people in who were renting, checking people out who were returning, having to drive the truck aroundâ€¦. Apparently no one else showed up for work and he created a system to try to get it all done alone. You all need to be recognizing and rewarding him as an OUTSTANDING employee!! The equipment was and the environment was clean. I rented a mini cargo truck. The company agent told me the fuel was a full tank. I took the odometer readings as I got into the car. I did just 13 miles journey and filled the tank with &15.51. This amount is questionable for a 13 miles trip. I complained when I drop off the equipment and no one was will yo address my plight. My only issue is , my gas tank was half when I hit the road but noticed on my paperwork it's marked 3/4 of the tank. The guy at the desk screwed up but I'm partly responsible as I'm supposed to check. I that cost me to add more gas than I drove for 20 miles. I did the mobile checkin. When I entered the lobby and followed the directions on the app to "Skip the line" "stand on the side of the counter" "show your completed Checkin in screen" etc... the man/agent at the counter just acted like I wasn't there and took the next person in line. My checkout experience was terrible seeing as the key lock box to return was fully open and insecure. I was told when I called the locations number that I would be charged if I did not return the key so she transferred me to the "return department" where I was on hold for 40 minutes and never had anyone answer. After being on the lot for over an hour I left the key in the open Dropbox as another customer service agent told me to. Terrible experience.Paris R.

Have more trailer 2â€ trailer hitches in stock on the shelves available for customers;; especially since this is the standard hitch for UHaul trailers. Your stock shouldn't get so low that I have to go to another uhaul store and then come back again to the Bowie store to pick up the trailer. Time is money and I wasted a lot of time.Veronica S.

Almost a month ago I requested my uhaul box to pick up, however it wasn't where it should be. Uhaul sent my container (with all my house) to Maryland across the country. The company requested almost a month to bring back my the Ubox. I was a month living in a empty apartment only with some essentials that Uhaul gave me. When all the problem happened someone from Uhaul said that you would delivery it to my door when it was back, but it didn't happened. I needed to rent a truck and pick up by my self. And when you think it was everything, all the following highlights happened: - Uhaul charged in my credit card $1036 from the travel Maryland to Los Angeles. And I needed to request reimbursement. - When I picked up my Ubox, it was opened without the locker that I bought at uhaul at the day I dropped the box. All the container was a big mess when I opened. Now I need to handle with the insurance company the broken and missing items. - Uhaul charged me $80 of fuel and gas service. However I returned the truck with the exact amount of gas that I picked it up. And I needed to request reimbursement. - Uhaul charged me the month of October already, but I moved out from the Ubox October 29th. (I would move at the beginning of sept, but Uhaul sent my container away.) - The amount that I paid from Ubox service wasn't reimbursed. It should be reimbursed because the service was not provided and you caused a month of problems and frustrations for me.RAFAEL D.

OMG ðŸ˜² The initial sales agent was rude and not accommodating. I was give keys and a number to the truck and nothing else. Truck was way in the back of the lot when there were a number of similar trucks that were closer. Did I mention it was pouring rain outside? Truck seemed off when we initially took off. Thought maybe because of the weather. Got the truck completely loaded and the gears wouldn't work it was a nightmare. Ended up spending almost 3 times more than I anticipated for movers because the 1st movers only completed half a job but was paid for the whole time due to wait as we tried to figure our the issue with the truck. Then had to pay double for the second movers because of last minute request. What a nightmare.TYANA B.

Make sure that location is honest when processing equipment return. I rented a one way trunk (24 hour rental) and returned the trunk 2 hours before closing hours on the same day as the rental. I was unable to complete the online check in but I was informed to just leave the key in the truck. The next day I received a bill for $58. I was charged an extra days rental fee because they didn't process the trunk until the next day, I then had to spend 30 minutes of my own time to speak to a representative to get the charge refunded. The representative was very helpful but if processed correctly, I wouldn't have to use my time to get it resolved.CHARLESCOMPTON A.

UHAUL corporate canceled my previous rental, did not forsee and available vehicle for minimum of 2 weeks as well as contact me when truck was available. I incurred considerable cost not being able to move (extend lease, utilities for another month) and inconvenience with new job. Further, DID NOT CONTACT ME!!! When picked up the truck was dirty inside and the bed was dirty as well , with a box chicken left in behind the seats , show the Tennant pictures, I rent often from this location and this was just a bad experienceKENNETH R.
It was clean, and ran just fine, but I had TWO CONCERNS: (1) The driver's side mirror was frozen in place, locked with an allen screw that could not be budged. THIS IS DANGEROUS, since my view was obstructed for the whole trip. (2) On completing the trip it began to rain, and I discovered that the driver's side wiper needs replacing. It work OK, but metal scrapes on the windshield: not good.Michael G.

Nothing, super clean and welcoming facility and staff. The bathroom was spotless, well maintained and had nice hot water to clean my hands. My hitch install was done in 90 minutes with wiring and the tech provided the perfect hitch adapter at the right height with proper ball size that didn't interfere with the tailgate operation and gave a good ride height for the trailer attachment. Thanks for making this vehicle upgrade a pleasant and easy experience.sky G.

The truck, in particular, that we used needs to be retired or actively maintained. The drivers side mirror did not swivel like the passenger side mirror which made it hard to adjust to the height/eye sight of me, as the driver. Also, driver's side mirror did not stay in place, so my mother (the passenger) had to roll down the window, at least 10-12 times, to adjust the mirror (while on the highway btw) as it would fall downwards anytime you hit a jump or bump in the road. This is extremely dangerous as a driver would not be able to change lanes in a safe fashion. Please look into retiring or maintaining this truck. Lastly, overall the service was quick and courteous from the rep who checked us out to the rep who we reported the mirrors issue to. So, I will be returning to Lanham for any future moving needs!IMA-OBONG U.

U-Haul needs to revise their rates. On 8-26-21 I moved my motorcycle in a utility trailer from Locust Grove, Georgia to Ft Mead, Maryland and was charged $107.00. On 9-8-21 I returned the motorcycle to the original location and they wanted me to pay over $300.00. I end up paying $274.00 which I understand it is not fear.SAMUEL D.

I was very uncomfortable driving your truck because I could not adjust the side view mirrors. There were no lables inside the truck for mirror adjustment. When I tried to return the truck, after hours, I had to use my phone to input mileage to your online system. The system would not accept any numbers after the decimal point. That was a very frustrating experience! I had to call your company twice! The first call left me on hold for a very long time! The second call finally released me so I could go home! A better way to pick up key without standing in line or appearing to cut the line. Make it truly a remote pick up without interaction with employee. Perhaps key can be pickup in a combination lockbox.Wellington U.
No equipment was provided as requested! Late night pick up and no equipment!! Website kept giving errors and spent 45 minutes on the phone mostly waiting for an operator. Just to hear â€œI still can't get the dolly and blankets I requestedâ€. Still got billed for equipment that I was not provided. Then when I spent part of my day going back to the store to get my money refunded for something â€œthey did not provideâ€ I was treated like a criminal. The lady behind the counter was clearly irritated having to help me. This was extremely poor customer service. It is one thing to not get want you requested but it is much worse to be billed anyways for the equipment and then be treated so poorly for try to be billed for â€œtheir mistakeâ€.Stanley D.

There was structural damage to the ceiling of the uhaul facility which caused permanent damage to my furniture and other property. I informed the front desk staff who was incompetent, rude and unprofessional. Ebony was eating and seemed completely disinterested during my visit. The manager, Brittany was not knowledgeable and only offered her card. They were unable to even tell me if my unit had insurance. At 1st I've made reservation to get the storage as well u-haul truck but when I arrived at the storage a young lady was helping me and never finished the processed regarding to have the key for the storage but gave me the car key for the track, however when I came back another young lady was helping me but couldn't find my info & it took her almost half an hour or maybe more to do the process so I can get the storage key & my time was limited at the time & both us was frustrated but the young man with the dreads who was doing almost everything going in the storage was helpful but not the ladies & as of community leader I was late 2do community work, in the end I was happy it was over & the purpose of reservation is to have everything done before arrival & that didn't happen & I was told a limited time to return the truck, so pls take care of the matters & hoping u all well in this very difficult time thxabdifatkah m. | First Impressions

When I arrived the representative was on the cell phone. As I approached, she paused her conversation and though she asked how can she help, I since she was not very much into customer service. Why do I say that? When I asked about prices and space sizes, she simply pointed from a seated position rather that getting up and directing me. After signing the agreement, she handed me my paper and gave me unclear directions as to where my storage room was located. Most of all, she didn't explain to me that I need the access card to get into the building. I actually didn't notice the access card till she caught my attention as I was walking away and she said I needed it to get into the storage area. It took me a while to find my storage locker and when I returned to ask about rather there were elevators in the facility, she paused a cell phone conversation and gave me the look of, "now what does he want?" She could have explained from the beginning that my locker was on the second level and there were no elevators or ramps to get there, only stairs.mark c. | First Impressions

The registration agent at the facility rude and dismissive and the employee that was on staff w/ her first 7 minutes of my intake was spent trying to tell her that I wasn't there to pick up a truck. She refused to except information from my registration for the storage space, after an exhausting 7 minutes we began the process to secure my space. We get to the space there's a green tag on the door I cut the tag a deafening sound blared over for 3 mins. Now we make it back to the truck while we are off loading a staff member comes thru not once but three (3) times(each time he came through he found something laugh about or make a commit) to to tell us the large sliding door will lock at 7 and all moving will be thru the small door. This was undeniably unreasonable request that brought on a toxic level of stress to beat the clock. We did just that packed the unit wrestler the required lock we were forced to purchase despite the fact we came w/a lock for the unit. What if we didn't have the money to support the forced purchase. You are dealing with induvial that are in tight situations make quick move under direst to force people to purchase a lock that truly doesn't properly fit the unit it took two people to close the unit one to fit the small facing into the hole and force the key to close and the other to level the door so that the lock fits yet another example of unnecessary stress added when dealing with the facility. So we are done, unit is closed then we remembered we needed to get an item . We unlock the unit that deafening sounds starts and never stops, we scrambled to find the item the was sound blaring it distorted us we couldn't think after leaving the facility we had head pain that was unbelievable.
