The one person that was there was as helpful as he could be at the time. The problem was that he was the ONLY person there. The other issue is that we were charged a late drop off fee only because the trailer was not checked in on the day we returned it. This has since been resolved only after I took action. It would be extremely helpful if Uhaul allowed direct contact with the operation centers because we could have cleared up this late charge immediately if we could have directly contacted the Uhaul center in Lafayette.Geoff L.

Very limited review questions, pertaining only to last rental event. . After making original reservation, was denied guaranteed service, pushed to a UHaul location that could not provide requested service, and then finally informed (two days before previously-denied service) that the requested service was available. This illustrates the need for UHaul to up its game for customer satisfaction. The poor rating above refers only to the overall experience, even though the South Street location provided exceptional service. Please get your shit together.Erik S.

The day i picked up my rental there was 7 people in line needing help, 3 workers at the rental desk and at one time a all 3 workers where expediting orders outside. There needs to be help outside so people can helped indoors sooner. When I left out the door to get my uhaul 10 people were in line!Joni S.

The location and employees were great! One of them was very professional when the group in front of me was being super rude about their reservation (the customers own fault but they were taking it out on the employees). My only "complaint" is that the website overbooked so my 26' truck was then changed to a 10' truck when the Indy center called to change it. This significantly altered our moving plans but in the end we made it work.Hope O.

I want give a shout out to Ismael Caraballo III for all his efforts of going the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of as customers. He provided the highest quality of customer service I've have in a long time. The storage facility was one of the nicest and cleanest I've seen. And I've moved 13 times in 10 years. He went above and beyond to find what we needed to rent, by locating it at another location for us. Our move went extremely well and stress free all because of his help. You need to have more 1 way trucks available.. We had to use a local truck and drive to our location 100 miles away and the. Drive back because despite me reserving a one way there was none available. This ended up costing us more in mileage and in gas. Seems completely unfair!Susan W.

Had a reservation for 2/14 and was told the cash drawer would not open. Cops were called because we then were not able to move in time. Next morning when they were able to get drawer open, they didn't reschedule reservation that was not honored and only put in we were using it for some hours. Because of the construction at our uhaul location, we had to move one of our two units to another unit. Besides the inconvenience of having to be present to lock and unlock the unit, the process was quite painless. The movers remained in communication with me and took pictures after they were done. They were very courteous! My only complaint overall would be the lack of lighting. It's sufficient enough to see, but it was a challenge to see items when you're looking for something stacked at the bottom of a pile in a unit. I had to use my cell phone flashlight. A light for each unit is probably overkill, but having lights more appropriately placed would be helpful.Mandy M. | Overall Experience

The staff member I worked with was a huge help. I needed to upgrade to a larger unit before moving in and he did that with no issues. Walked me through everything including the security system, which I would not have figured out on my own. He even helped me get some of my larger furniture out of the truck and onto a dolly, which he did not have to do but it was a huge help. He went above and beyond. Local u haul mgr stated i have a $160 balance bc I wasn't moved out before the 13th. U haul at no time can force renew. I chose not to renew and I should have no balance. If u haul deems a late fee of $15 is necessary, I will pay it, but I do not owe $160. Mgr was rude, and she issued a no trespass order on myself when she was the one in the wrong. I left because I could save $71 a month on a same-size unit. So I moved my things to Affordable Family Storage, right next door. Also, the ceiling above my unit dumped lots of little dirt and what looked like plaster chips on top of my furniture. The facility outside of my unit was clean, but the ceiling above my unit was not in good repair and left debris on my things. It wasn't so much that I'd move, but it was annoying. Yet when I learned I could have a better roof and save big $$$ each month, I bolted. Finally, I was told at the beginning of my stay with U-Haul, that we pay a month ahead, so imagine how disappointed I was at the end to learn you would not refund me my unused days after just paying rent through October 27th. I call that theft. As long as I live in Lafayette, I cannot recommend your facility to anyone. I am fully aware that eventually the rates will go up at my new unit. But until that time, I am saving $852 a year over what you charged. Since I am on a fixed income, THAT is a LOT of money!Pamela G. | Overall Experience

On our way cleaning out the storage I was approached in a rude manner by a woman who worked there. However, Kathi has been a joy! I've stored there for the last 3 years and Kathi has been attentive. Caring and thorough. If there was a problem Kathi would quickly address is and rectify it with the best customer service possible. It outweighs the actions of others there.
