I was called the night before my move to say the location in Walpole, NH didn't have my equipment. I had B to drive into Keene for different equipment they failed to include the dolly I rented. I am a disabled older adult who has to schedule help and then struggle because of this failure. Poor planning on the part of uhaul in this case resulted in emergency on my part. I ended up falling trying to help with a larger piece of furniture because they didn't give me the dolly I was charged for. Very disappointedDarleata C.

Truck was dirty inside, we did have to ask them to clean up spilled coffee on dashboard, coffee had trail on floor. Riding down the I-81 brake fluid low light came on , so we did have to stop . Trying to call several times to Keene U-Haul, it was still morning hour's 10:00 am but none picked phone up ! Called out to our mechanic, who asked to check reservoir, brake fluid reservoir was last than half . So we did have to make a maintenance stop to fill it ? It should have been done before we rented the truck ? It could have turned up to be a dangerous situation in mountain drive !!! So obviously the fluids were not serviced.Ingrid T.
Personnel at Keene was extremely unprofessional. The manager was just ok, as she did not ask her associate to sit up in her chair when dealing with us. The associate was slouching as far back as she could go, we could not understand what she was saying, seemed to be in a cloud, as it were, not responsive to our questions. The manager was next to her trying to help us out, but did not address the lack of professionalism in her associate. You are going to lose a lot of business in the Keene store if changes are not made!John M.

In the past, working with U-Haul representatives has been an absolute nightmare and we thought this experience was turning up to be the same, but then enters Amanda (the gm of this store.) Let me give a bit of background, a few months ago me and my partner scheduled a truck about a month ago for our out of state move, at the counter for pickup we were informed that truck wasn't available and they had a 5' smaller truck for us which wasn't going to work. We had to scramble hours before our movers were arriving to find a truck and eventually found one from a different company. That experience soured our takes with U-Haul and from that moment we decided we would never use U-Hauls services again. Flashforward to present day, we again found ourselves needing to transport fencing materials for our new home, this U-Haul was one of the only ones with the size vehicle available so we had to take our chances and move forward with booking it. From the moment I walked in to pick-up the vehicle Amanda was the most pleasant and kind worker I've ever dealt with! Now, we originally only needed the vehicle for a few hours, but when we got to the store for our pickup and it wasn't ready get I knew we would not meet our drop off time of 11. I called the customer service line to ask for an extension, I explained what was happening and that the uhaul would be packed full of concrete and wood fencing materials and the representative informed me that the van was already booked out for another family at 12 pm, I had tried to re-explain that there is no possible why me and husband could physically unload the truck and return it by our original time and while we understood that we had booked it for this amount of time, we were looking for other options, the rep on the phone pretty much said you're SOL and if it's not returned by the designated time the company could call the cops and file the vehicle as stolen. Point understood. So from the store with our 3,000+lb fencing materials we made our way back to the U-Haul store were Amanda was still behind the desk, I explained the above to her and asked if there was any other trucks we could move the materials into before the next rental time (which was only about 2 hours away at this point) she said there was a 20ft available, we were working out a plan on where would be best in the lost to park and unload the one van into the second truck and mid way through she worked with us and the second family and found us a way to keep the same van, we ended up needing it for an entire extra day. Amanda was kind, compassionate and extremely understanding throughout the entire process. You can tell she actually cares about her work and her customers, if we ever need to rent a vehicle through U-Haul again, Amanda is the only reason we return. Thank you again for turning what could have been an absolute mess into a pleasant experience.Benjamin L.

The link I was sent via text to process the drop off did not work I tried it multiple times. I was not able to dispute charges that the customer service woman told me to do so I didn't get charged twice, although I did get charged twice for the vehicle when I was told that I wouldn't if I was able to dispute the charge through the drop off link. Tires would not hold air and were choppy with baldness in the center. Stopped at a U-Haul in Kansas told them about it and was told to keep going and if anything happens to call roadside assistance. Wasted alot my time and extra money putting air into the tires every 3 hours. Explained it to the drop off center and told the lady that checked me in about whole situation but it wasn't her fault. They need to check the trucks more throughly. Mine had 2 chips in the windshield and a dent in the front of the hood. I saw them before I pulled out and I went back in and got the lady and she took pictures and said she would put it in my contract.Lois L.

The new digital online checkout for smartphones assumes an extreme amount of competence in the renter & significantly strong cell phone signal at the location. Neither was the case in my rental. The staff is extremely helpful, polite, professional, customer focused & work hard to get you in/out as fast as possible. I have used them before & will definitely use them again.William T.

Woman at the site gave me a hard time - didn't want to take the paper from me showing that the truck only had 1/4 tank, that's why I was returning the truck with 1/4 tank. Told me that's not how we do things here, telling me I have to go on line and do something or other. She was extremely nasty and agitated. I had been up since 3:30 in the morning, loading a truck, driving from NJ to NH... and I'm standing there with her giving me a hard time - I'm not a UHaul employee - or work at her office to know 'how we do things here'; this was an internal issue - I had the paper from the other site with the gentleman's note saying the truck only had 1/4 tank. It wasn't my problem, nor should she have vented her frustration at me, that I guess she had to do something different or extra to check the truck in. She needs to get a clue what customer service means.Charles H.

The app-based pickup was less than smooth. Only when I actually arrived for my pickup you wanted a SECOND IDENTIFICATION? By some miracle I had my passport with me. THEN the app was slow as molasses processing everything. After all that, I STILL had to go inside for my keys? If you want to use technology to replace the work of humans, it needs to function faster and more efficiently than humans. I would have been better off doing this the old-fashioned way and waiting inside for help.Roger D.

This place is a joke New take over had to smooth over all of the problems Had stuff stolen my lock was drilled out and another one was put on and they told me nobody did that we had to have a locksmith come and cut the laspe we still have the lock and key our key does not fit the lock. A very special item was taken from our locker and can never be replaced and they lied to us about somebody going into our locker the locksmith gave us a statement so the new takeover people made a deal with me return my money for the time that I was there but how do you return a piece of paper that is priceless and you can never find another one We had a letter in a bottle that they broke and the letter was taken out of it I'm not very happy about it I want to talk to somebody about it I have saved all the evidence with the lock being drilled in the locker being broken intoRodney P. | Overall Experience

I am indeeed grateful for the support that Amanda and her staff gave me over the past two years. Everyone provided answers and help on each request that I made. The only issue that I had was the entry cards were sensitive during rainy conditions and or cold conditions. Amanda provided me with an entry code, which worked super. No fusing with cards. We needed a unit for only a few months. I was able to secure it the day needed within hours of dropping off our belongings for storage, access was very easy, with the tools required to transfer everything from the truck to the unit, and vice versa. Our biggest issue was the difficulty of setting up an account when we checked in. We already had an account & a unit. We were just adding another unit. We had to do the whole process as if it was a new unit & then they signed us up for the wrong unit so had to do the process all over again. Then the key card we were given didn't work.
