I did not like the customer service at this location. They were rude and not informative. Upon my return their were a number of trucks blocking the return area , so I was confused as were to drop the truck off. Customer service was unavailable even though they were visible. I Would not recommend this location unless you do not have other options available. Need new staff. All around was disappointed.

I reserved a 10 ft box truck at Jamaica 75th st when I get to the location to my surprise they had no truck I called customer service and the gave me 168 Douglas ave upon reaching there one hour later the guy there told me I have to pay for the lost hour I was furious and he gave me me my starting time as per pick up

My experience with the customer representative was very inconvenient. I do a lot of business with this location so overall no complaints with the customer service of this specific location. However, the representative over the phone gave me such a hard time with providing me help over the phone. I did not understand why I had to send a picture like five times over the phone to complete the transaction? I asked if the representative was able to see a screen shot of my license the first time and she said yes. So then I had to take 3 more afterwards & I felt this was redundant of me to do. This was very annoying and It took about an extra 30 minutes. Finally I spent another 15 minutes locating the keys before fiiguring the combination because I had to charge my IPhone...🤔

I made a reservation in advance and double checked everything because I needed an after hours pick up. I know from past experience that with an after hours pickup, its best to confirm and reconfirm all of the details. When I arrived, the truck that I reserved was not "set up" for me. There were many of them in the lot, but they had not be checked in or prepared for pick up. I ended up having to call customer service and after being on hold for an hour, was finally told that my options were to have no truck, or to have a much smaller truck. Its clear that this location was disorganized and not ontop of their reservations.

I did everything online the day before because I knew I going to be short on time. Not only was the truck not ready but the lady made me wait and she redid everything online I guess because she gets paid a commission. It took over 25 mins to get checked in. From there you would think they would get the truck ready during the 25 mins I was in the store. NOPE!!!!! Not only did I have to walk around the parking lot in the pouring rain to find the truck. It took another 10 mins for your employee to go find the keys to the other trucks and move them so I could get the truck out. Then I got in the truck and it only had a quarter tank of gas. How unprofessional and sloppy allowing me to drive the truck away with barely any gas. I had to stop 2 times to get gas. Going forward unless I'm reimbursed for this inconvenience then I will be using another rental company.

Although the store was closed at 8pm, when I returned the vehicle, I encountered a young man locking the door. He was extremely kind and helped me thru the return process anyway. I had encountered a few bumps in the request process. His actions have made me store and brand loyalty. I failed to get his name. He is your co. Super Asset, I thank him.

The 6 feet separation markers are a little disorienting for me. It is not clear how the line runs. The floor is mostly crowded with merchandise & the customer line is not clearly defined. The counter attendants are knowledgeable, professional & quick. I liked that. When returning the vehicle I would have preferred an immediate closing out of the contract. I was very dissatisfied about waiting to receive a final bill after leave the office. It leaves too many opportunities for fraud!!!!!

The only reason why I couldn't say "Excellent" on my overall rating of the U-Haul Storage facility at this particular location is that there is just one problem that I had with the place. The problem is that they have these extremely loud, ear-piercing alarms that keep going off intermittently at that place.. The sound of those alarms are so shrill and so terrible that prolonged exposure to them would most certainly damage a person's ear-drums. The elevators are of a type that I've never seen before; they're like something from a previous age of man's existence on this planet, and the elevators themselves are wired to set off a horrible super-shrill, ear-drum piercing alarm that goes off for a few seconds while the doors are closing. So this is my only complaint about the place. I would recommend that they install modern elevators, and then relegate all those annoying and quite frankly, extremely unhealthy alarms to the after 10:00 PM over-night hours. I say those alarms are unhealthy because of the potential damage they can cause to a person's nerves and ear-drums, and maybe even the brains too, to a certain extent, when a person has to be there working and packing for 3 hours or more. So I think they should set the alarms to go off after 10:00 PM at night, which would be the "after hours" time period, so that people who come in there to do work in their units in the daytime can have peace & quiet, and be able to return home with the healthy nerves, brains, and ear-drums that they came in with. So apart from this one thing concerning the terrible noise of those alarms, everything else about this Storage Facility is WONDERFUL!

Make sure there is no dirty things left behind in the truck and the engine is repaired or oiled or whatever needs to so be done to it because it clearly needs some maintenance done on it. Also the workers move really slow you can be there waiting just to speak to someone for 20mins to an hour. Their over the phone service is misleading because when you arrive there is always an extra charge or a different story and the workers don't listen they talk too much in general

Made updated reservations via telephone that I would pick up the truck on a Sunday at approximately 7:30AM. The location never gave me 24X7 access so I had to wait from 7AM Sunday until 9AM when the location opened for business. I called U Haul customer service and I was told that I would have to wait until 9AM when the business opened, the agent would give me $50 as a credit, what good is the credit when I had movers at my house at 8AM that I am paying $50 per hour each person? These guys basically sat there and waited for two hours until I got the truck and drove from the end of Queens to Bath Beach Brooklyn, as there were no other location closer to pick up the truck. I ordered blanket rentals and they were not in the truck either, I had to go back to the store to request them, more time wasted as the truck was parked a block away from the office. I am beyond livid with this location's lack of customer service, I will use a competitor in the future as this was a horrible and expensive experience for me.

Rental location was originally Woodside, Queens .Order was placed on 9/29/20. We were informed later they did not have a 20 ft truck available, had to go to Jamaica instead. The truck was to be used to empty two storage units from Woodside Storage and moved to Massachusetts. We had purposely booked rooms at the Fairfield Inn very close to the Woodside location.We drove to Jamaica and picked up the truck. The drive from Jamaica to Woodside was horrendous!! Unfamiliar with Queens, NY we used GPS but large bold signs posted "TRUCKS NOT ALLOWED ON PARKWAYS" prevented us from finding our way back to Woodside. Driving a 20 ft truck thruough small side streets was crazy! We stopped many times to ask for directions and were harassed by impatient drivers cutting us off.My fiancé' was driving the truck and I followed close behind in the car. The experience was harrowing.From Jamaica to Woodside took us approximately an hour and a half. After loading up at Woodside we were able to get to the major expressway in a short time without a problem. We are both seniors and are excellent and safe drivers.

The location was in Merrick Blvd, the vehicle had lots of dent and scratches, I was given a receipt that the vehicle had 1/4 tank of gas and it was empty, went to ask and the guy said he can't help me, I came back and let the vehicle almost full spent 46.76 on gas and I ask about the tolls we acquired they said they had nothing to do with that to co tact the company., very bad service.

I neglected to look at the gas level on the paperwork so when I returned the vehicle with the same amount of gas as when I received it I learned that the paperwork reflected a different amount which required me to return to the gas station and purchase more gas. Pandemic or not the gas level should be verified by a employee before the rental leaves the premises.

I have been renting from U-Haul for years I remember one time they charged me because I did not full the tank back it was not cheep. Now I rent This truck I got it with a quarter tank missing. I drove it and when I return I fill the tank back up. My there was no mention of that if credit to my account for that. With all the money you make I think you can't be trusted FUCK U-Haul

Check your vehicles. My U-Haul broke down on the Jersey Turnpike. The wheel hub failed and caused the braking components to fail as well. I almost lost control of this truck. Then I had to get my truck towed from Carteret, NJ to Roselle, NJ. U-Haul put me in a hotel for the night. My replacement truck was in Totowa, NJ and could not get dropped off so I had to personally drive my car that I was towing on a auto transport. Super inconvenient. Then to top it off, I had to get this replacement truck because my original truck wouldn't be repaired for another 2 days. U-Haul hires movers to unload my truck. The idea was right but the movers did a horrible job. They loaded the truck and then unloaded it again when they realized a few items couldn't fit. I offered them suggestions but they refused to listen. After that it was smooth sailing but I lost 2 days of work and a lot of time but my safety was the most at risk. U-Haul needs to do better an inspection their vehicles.

We even had to pick up and drop off our truck at this location which is farther for us and out of our way. The delay had us push back our moving for a few hours. I would have provided 5 stars if there was more than one customer service representative at the window to prevent long lines and if the AC actually worked because it is what I paid for except did not receive AC on any of the floors except the main floor. Charles Hampton is useless, he does not listen, I ordered boxed online and he could not find where they were. I had to request a refund. Melissa Toussaint DOES NOT know how to talk to customers she needs training. I met Darnell Gore twice he help me out and made suggestions as to what I should do even though I had to rent on two separate days and paid a little more he was EXTREMELY helpful polite and even smile, nice guy, right business attitude, he is who your company needs. He saved the day TWICE.

TERRIBLE. Staff was inattentive. The process was way too long (2.5hrs).No instructions on how to access my unit or how to check in. The store lock not taken off. Had to walk back to office 3 times.
