I requested counter pick up to avoid doing online things and using my phone data. When I got there I was made to do it all myself on my phone. The webpage kept crashing. I was unable to do the fuel adjustment as the forms and reality were different. It was very frustrating and I was not pleased with the service at all. The vehicle itself was very clean and worked great tho I will say that

Three recommendations (1) make the drop box more noticeable (2) way too long on hold any time I called - once was 25+ minutes sitting in a dark parking lot at night because the link to close the account did not work - I drove away (3) accounting for the almost free half tank of gas - co-worker filled it up, thinking we had to return it full so you got a lot of $ in gas with no 'credit'. Prefer to receive full and return full. It's easier on the customer, but UHaul invariably gains with those who overfill because we are paranoid not to return at the exact tank level. There's a gas station nearby for both customers and UHaul.

La veille du déménagement, on a appelé pour me dire où et à quelle heure aller chercher le camion. Mon neveu a rappelé pour l'avoir plus tôt et on a confirmé que ce serait prêt à l'heure que nous avions décidé. Quelques heures plus tard, une deuxième personne a rappelé pour nous dire où aller chercher le camion, ce qui avait déjà été fait et, même si je demeurais à Gatineau, l'agent parlait anglais seulement. La journée du déménagement, on n'avait pas la grandeur du camion et mon neveu a dû attendre 1 heure avant d'en avoir un autre.

Actually your rep was great. One suggestion: in the truck, it says to look on the contract to get an idea how much gas to put back in the truck to bring it back to the original level. There is no indication on the current contract.

I had very poor customer service from the employees at 3636 Innes road, orleans, Ottawa. The lady behind the desk continuously huffing and puffing every time I ask a question. Not helpful. I tried to get the queen size mattress protectant for approximately 6$ And she couldn’t find it in the system. She then recommended an 18$ protectant instead because she couldn’t find it in the system. I refused as this is not an excuse. The other guy working there, Brandon, interrupted and was being extremely rude stating that I should buy the protectant triple the price because he couldn’t be bothered to look for it or make any effort. His tone was unacceptable. The van was in good condition but the customer service was way below satisfactory. Will not be going back to this location for the rest of my move and will definitely not recommend it.

There were not enough people working there, and the computer system was slow and unreliable. However, the person who was working there made the best out of a crappy situation. She was friendly, good-natured, and apologetic. She also adapted and learned, which made the process a little bit faster, and was much appreciated.

The location was severely understaffed and the 1 hour wait to pick up our key that was already reserved in advance was very frustrating. 2 staff to manage a line of 20 plus customers that was constantly expanding. I am unsure if I will use u-haul again as a service because this was a huge inconvenience.

You need more staff behind the counter and a main crew out in the parking lot, 6 people in front of me and 90 min wait with already reservations. Well never go back to this location!

Despite making a reservation online, we waited over 1 1/2 hours to get to the agents. It was a minimum of 20 minutes per customer...many took over 1/2 hour. I have rented many times at other Ottawa locations...this was absolutely the worst. Never again.

The car hauler/trailer that I rented was old, rusted and the wheels squeaked loudly. I couldn't get the turnbuckles for the straps to work due to their rusted condition, so I could not tie-down the car that I wanted to transport. Since it was not suitable for use, I brought the trailer back within an hour of having picked it up and was charged about $40.00 for absolutely nothing but frustration. A total waste of time and money.

This is the third time that I have rented a U-Haul, the seats weren't clean at all, also I was told insurance for the Minivan must agree or will not able to rent the Van, I was charged an extra Mileage.

Truck was clean inside but filthy on outside. Counter person lied by telling me I had to purchase insurance, which I didn’t. Truck only had 1/8th of a tank of gas. Was given a credit and told to bring it back 1/4 full. Had the truck for 45 minutes and drove 8 km. I put $10 gas in and on return there was a problem with the checkin as it showed the truck left full. As if we used 7/8 of a tank in 45 minutes driving 8 km! Was told to stand in line for 20 minutes to resolve with the general manager. Entire experience was underwhelming and unnecessarily stressful. Will rent with Budget next time.

I know these trucks are used by all kinds of people. The truck was clean enough but the mechanical condition was poor. The steering was loose and the brakes were weak. I hand maybe 500 pounds of cargo in a 20 foot truck and it felt like the brakes were at there operational limit. I have no idea what would happen if the truck was really loaded up. The steering wheel was rotated 90 degrees when the truck was moving straight forward. It also had a tenancy of wandering around the traffic lane. I don't say this to simply "run down" a rental truck its more about the safety. Its a big vehicle and would do a lot of damage it control was lost. Thank you.

I was litteray in the store upon the return of my rental truck, and I was being told by the clerk that I needed to use the uhaul app outside in order to return the vehicule. After trying 5 times, I couldn't even complete the process, due to the site not working. Being frustrated, I just left the vehicule and keys on the spot. A waste of my time. I was hence charged a fee for something the operator on the spot couldn't even do. Something so simple as a vehicule rental became so complicated for no apparent reason. I was litteraly on the spot, a procedure that would have normally taken a couple of minutes only at the desk, and the clerk didn't even bother serving a client. That is not good customer service at all. On the contrary. It is against all principles of good etiquette and professionalism. I will try in the future to make a concerted effort to encourage your direct competition, and to never use uhaul as much as possible. I will also instruct our 6 regional offices across the province at work to never use uhaul as part of our operations. This experience has left me disillusionned about the way you serve your customers in general.

The wait line when I arrived when I was told to arrive for 8:30am was absolutely ridiculous. There were two people already at the counter and those two clients took at least an hour to process. By the time I was served, there were at least another ten people STILL waiting in line behind me. Then, the next day when I returned the truck, I saw at least ten customers standing at the entrance doors all waiting outside. The young man that served me and went through the return process with me, was amazing, very polite and professional. I asked why the clients were all waiting outside, and he explained it was because the employee that was scheduled to open the store had booked off work so they had to send an employee from another location to the Innes Rd location to open. I pitied those clients having to go through what I had gone through the day before. It just seems that every time I rent a truck from either Innes or st Laurent location its the same thing. Extreme wait times! Makes it unappealing for clients to return.
