The staff was very friendly and helpful. Truck in great condition. We ordered extra furniture covers but did not get them. Luckily we did not need them and were credited appropriately. The only item of concern was we were charged $5 for furniture covers we never used. We did not break the seal on the bag in the truck. We were told it would be taken off the billing but were charged anyway.

The man that served me was rude. First impressions, I turn up with a truck after just moving out of Chicago , tired , my truck rolled into the grass slightly. I walk inside and he Dosent even greet me and just says “is that your truck on my grass , you best move it”. I then asked if there is a storage shed close to the door , he says no and puts me in one that all the way at the end, just to make it difficult. The screen said there were heaps available. I was supposed to get the first month free and when I said I am supposed to get the first month free he says “I don’t see any record” and I said I’ll just bring the email up and then he says “too late I’ve already charged you and I don’t know how to reverse it” ! I’m stunned at his rudeness. Then when he gives me a security code to enter the facility we go to test it and it fails then we try again and fails. The he said oh well and walks away. I said excuse me , what am I supposed to do, he said oh the system is down. I said well I need a security code that works and he said it’s fine you can just put up with the annoying sound. The check in was so bad , unprofessional , he didn’t wear a mask , I was disgusted !! I tried to call Day the manager but she didn’t answer.

The 15-foot truck I rented and drove from Holland, Michigan to Austin, Texas looked clean and well maintained when I picked it up. Unfortunately, once I got on the highway headed to Texas and my speed reached or went above 65 - 70 miles an hour, there was a very annoying, high-pitched whistle which occurred, emanating from the corner of the driver's-side windshield. Hopefully this can be addressed and fixed before anyone else has to endure such agony during a 24-hour drive/move in the future. In addition, the air conditioning was not reliable either. All of a sudden we would realize the temperature was escalating in the cab, only to find the a/c was no longer functioning at all! We found that if we shut everything off, turned it back on, and played with the dials for a while, eventually we could get it to kick back on. Not ideal!

I started to load stuff from my car. After the car was empty, the back door wouldn't shut. There was something wrong with the track. Then I had to load from the truck & load it into another truck. The wall next to the gas pedal kept falling over the gas & break pedal. The waiting in line is horrible. Very, very long wait. Also, the gas gauge was only half full. I'll never go there again. I highly recommend you should go elsewhere to rent a truck.

Trailer had a damaged strap that was literally cut in halfI was assured at both locations "it was fine". My rental trailer was not ready. Gaclve my reserved trailer to someone else and it took over an hour to get that one changed over to me. Polite staff. But execution was terrible. Truck was severely scratched, and had a headliner panel falling.

Manager did not wear mask. I only realized after I drovr off that less fuel was in the tank than was stated in the agreement. I paid over $50 to refill the tank. I asked and paid for a dolly and blankets but they were not included with the truck until I asked a second time. He would have let me drive off without these items.

This is not a complaint as I have rented from the Lakewood U-haul location many times. They are extremely helpful, friendly and a great clean location. However, a suggestion from a corporate standpoint is how about have an express service kind of like rental cars. Something where all your paperwork is completed on line so when you go you could walk up to an express counter to pick up the paperwork, keys, etc. Would save some time.

This is by far the best run u- haul I've worked with. Truely the best. They should teach many of your franchises how it's s done right. It is usually a terrible experience to rent from u-haul. These people were truly caring and helpful.

The truck I was given had a leak in the roof and several of my boxes were drenched as well as a comforter. It needs to be dry cleaned. I submitted a claim Thursday and today is Monday and I haven't heard anything. I'm a little disappointed the rental place didn't do anything or at least try to resolve it.

the location was fine however, the 26' truck I rented was hard to drive, it wandered in the lane as if it had bad ball joints. The interior noise from rattles and other noise made the radio useless, my wife and and I had to speak very loud to hear each other. the overdrive did not engage for the first third of the trip until we hit a large bump then it engaged. It had over 150\,000 miles on it and should have been retired. The motor was strong and had no problems. An orange indicator that I did not know what it was stayed lit on the dash from when I first picked up the truck, it went out during the first hour and did not return. Overall it was a very tough drive for the near 500 miles I drove it

I reserved a unit several weeks before my move. Then, while in the middle of a stressful move, I received several phone calls from U-Haul warning me that my unit was available to be rented online and if I did not rent it, I might lose it. This caused me a lot of stress and it seems U-Haul needs to fix its reservation system. If I have reserved a unit, it should not be available for any random person online to rent. Other than that, everything went well. The unit was clean. The facility seems great.

The check-in/check-out system is unreliable. The alarm frequently sounds when people open their units. It happens so often that no one thinks it odd. The after hours access also does not work, so our access was limited to when the store was open. We had our unit on auto-pay for convenience. One time I tried to access my unit, but there was a second lock on it for not paying. Of course I was furious. When I went into the store, they said they had no idea how to contact me, that they had "peeked over the wall and saw the unit was empty" (which was a completely lie - it was not empty until we just vacated it yesterday), and that we had not paid. We filled out a lot of paperwork with secondary contact information when we rented the unit, so nothing they said made sense. This is an indication that they made some kind of major mistake and then tried to blame us. I never felt like my belongings were secure there or that I could access my unit at will as they advertise. Based on our experiences with this facility, I do not trust them at all and would never recommend them. We are thrilled to be out of there.

I had a lot of problems accessing my unit. The key card/access code system often did not work - especially in cold weather. This meant that I could only access my unit during open hours. Even when the key card/access code system appeared to work, the alarm often sounded when I opened my door. While I was there, I observed it happening to other customers too. In fact, it happened so much that no one flinched when the alarm went off because it was so common. I had a lot of frustration with not being able to pay my account in advance. I tried to do this online and in person, but the system will not allow it. I would rather pay in advance than have to wait until the due date and take a chance of getting a late fee if I happen to forget. This should be updated. Thank you.
