The Nj location went smooth but the Dallas location has to improve their overall readiness. My container was not available for me when I sent the moving guys on the day I scheduled to get it in the morning. I had to call up there and speak to a manager to find out why my box is delayed. Process was very confusing. I was given a 1-800 number to call to schedule my corporate move, but apparently I was suppose to be through my representative which seemed to cause a lot of additional confusion. Do not give a 1-800 number and an account number if it can not be used to book a move. The representative called me as soon as my account to was set up to get packing supplies which was great, but didn't hear from them again to book my move (wasn't ready to book my move at the time, because I hadn't even finished the hiring process at the job). Please don't have a 1-800 line with an option to book a move if that causes confusion.Chelsea B.

They charge me a month that I was told that I was advise won't be a charge, after I moved out I continue to get letters that I had a bill and a rep called me saying I had a balance due and I w was s late, I didn't have a unit any more. One of the pods was damaged and I could not lock it the clasp was missing. I had to nail it shut. The pods arrived several days late in NJ and a day late in Florida. Both times, I had to reschedule my helpers who were hired by me at a coast. I would therefore not recommend UHaul in the future.Michael P.

To be clear, (a) I never went to the rental location (b) the staff was somewhat helpful, but seemed very disorganized, (c) the uhaul phone system kept routing my calls to other locations who could not handle a ubox order, (d) the uhaul website is *terrible* for ubox orders. Schedules are viewed as suggestions at most, changes in number of boxes were not reflected, I never could get the gypsy moth online form to work.John Y.
The associate Danielle was extremely helpful and friendly she made a sad experience of putting things in storage bright for me. She was timely thoughtful and walked me through the steps of the lock and access card process. We are still missing a ubox. Our first order was not enough so I called Uhaul to have another ubox. They failed to attach this to our prior Dee even though we discussed how it would change the delivery date of all the boxes. I made it clear they were all going together. All the filled boxes were picked up together but the last one is still not here two weeks later! Customer service assured me several times hat I would not have to pay shipment or delivery on the last box and that it would be delivered right away. Now- delivery is going to be almost a month after the promised delivery date and they're refusing to compensate. The boxes were old and had missing hardware. Never again!janet B.

The containers were not available at the originally requested location. No one notified that the containers will need to be picked up at a farther location causing additional cost and travel time for the moving help company. The 'promised shipment date didn't happen and once again no one notified or updated the online dashboard. At this point there is no date of arrival available anywhere I can see. However, the payment was processed as per schedule. I am truly concerned about my shipment integrity at this point and will be filing insurance claim. This is very disappointing, I expected the reputation of the company to demonstrate better outcomes.Luda F.
Trying to communicate with Uhaul at anytime is the most frustrating experience I ever had. No one takes ownership and getting a live person is impossible. Constantly transferred from phone to phone, were no one knows what is going on. Worst customer experience ever.Ernesto S.
The telephone call center told me I could pick up the u-box on Sunday in Hillside. When I got there they said I couldn't pick up the box and had to come back on Monday. When I brought the loaded box back on Wednesday at my appointed time they made me wait for over an hour to disconnect the trailer from my car.Nick C.

She was a one women show , she smiled, she turned a stressful morning because of a â€œshitâ€ experience at your Orange location. Too many people not enough motivated! Trisha was excellent in helping me find a solution after my expectations were not met. When I originally called customer service, I attempted to book Ubox for deliver to my home in Basking Ridge and then for deliver to New Hope. I turns out the first reservation as expected was deliver to Basking Ridge and I ended up working directly with Trisha to coordinate pick up at that time. However I was under the impression from Customer Service (not Trisha) that I would be able to have my property deliver to New Hope expecting the same price at delivery to Basking Ridge. However it took several calls to finally get someone on the phone and even then I was not able to get a straight reservation for shipment to New Hope, PA. Once I sent an email complaining that I wanted my product shipped to New Hope PA as I understood after the fact that I needed to book a separate reservation, I found out the price to ship my property 30 mins was over $1700. That was not communicated or explained when i set up the initial reservation via customer service on the phone,. Trisha helped by having the Ubox shipped to the warehousre in Ewing which was 30 mins from our home in New Hope, PA. My hubby rented a truck and physically moved them the extra 30 mins. However, if I would have known that was the case we would not have used Ubox and just rented a truck and moved it directly to New Hope, PA at first. There are some specific recommendations for future. Your customer service line has extremely long hold times over 15 mins each time. Once you get someone they forward you to another location and that goes back to the general customer service hold time. There was one of the 7 -9 times that I called and the lady in customer serviced ask me basic questions like where are your Uboxs (when they were storage at Uhaul) and what is the address of the Uhaul location. I was looking at the information on line but it was not clear to me if the boxes were in Hillside or moved to Ewing which is what I was trying to figure out from her when I called. The model could work but I will not recommend at this point given I think the general customer service was not helpful. Trisha who is the GM of the Ubox in Ewing was extremely helpful and the driver was extremely kind and responsible in the pick up and deliver.Kimberly F.

Daneisha Brown was very nice with excellent customer service skills. She was very helpful with great knowledge of the business. Her tour of the facility was wonderful. One of the worst service, I have ever seen. Took four days for local delivery within 3 miles. Customer support is worst. Website don't give correct quote for end to end delivery. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use UHaul services.Munish K.

U boxes arrived one day late but considering the snow storm weekend before we were okay with this. We managed to work around. We think in Covid times the U boxes are an excellent idea, safer. I have a comment about the Uhaul online process, not about the Hillside Uhaul location. I originally submitted a request online for a 20' truck for an in-city move in a different town in NJ. The request went through, but I got a call saying that the closest 20' truck available was in Hillside. Since Hillside is about 40 min away from where I was moving this was inconvenient, but I needed the truck and figured I could return locally. However when Uhaul changed the pickup location, they kept the in-city move part, which I didn't realize until the after I was packing the truck. Now I had to return the truck to the Hillside location a decent drive away. This added on to the already great stress of moving. Part of this is my fault for not realizing the situation in time, but I feel that Uhaul corporate should have realized that I am not doing an in city move anymore and explained the situation. Again, this is not a criticism of Hillside, they did all they could for me, this is about the rest of the process.Dan P.

My mover went to Hillside and the crate was unavailable (even though he called to confirm in advance) He ended up traveling to Edison NJ to get a pod for me. I had a problem that the charge was different, but I think that was because I couldn't on-line order the crate, an agent at Uhaul did it and made mistakesDebra L.

There needs to be communication between the booking department and the individual U-Haul store. Booking stated a date for delivery and arrival, but the store was unable to meet these dates due to no availability of equipment or drivers for delivery. Same was true for arrival store. All personnel I spoke with were more than helpful and courteous. This is strictly a corporate communication issue and it needs to be resolved.john W.

I had a moderate experience. It could have easily been improved to a great experience with improved communication. When booking the Ubox, I was told to go to one location for Ubox pick up and Pick up truck rental. Thankfully, I called to confirm and found out I had to go to two different locations to pick up each item and to come later in the day. I was told by customer service that they are booking remotely and do not know what capabilities each location has. I found that to be odd. Why wouldn't the representatives booking the rentals know what is available at each location? On the delivery side of my Ubox, I had multiple issues with the Pompano reservation office. My Ubox was confirmed by the office to be delivered and picked up on certain dates. I was told I would receive a call 30mins prior to the driver's arrival and none of this occurred. It was delivered at a later date. I confirmed a new pickup date and it sat on my driveway for another week after that. I spoke to multiple representatives at the Pompano office. All stated they were sorry and would rectify the situation. None of this occurred. I then decided to call customer service and they attempted to get Don the manager on the phone, but he was busy at the time. The representative said she was emailing Don about the situation and that he would get back to me. He never followed up. There could have been multiple reasons why the Ubox delivery/pickup was delayed, however, I was never made aware. The communication that occurred was directed from my end with promised callbacks for updates that did not happen. This is a clear breakdown in communication that is hindering what could otherwise be an excellent service.Adriana O.
The staff was very friendly however not that helpful when I realized (a day after the box was delivered) that there were no furniture pads included in the box. 1. I first called the national number who told me to call the local office. 2. I called the local office and the person told me that pads were not included with U-boxes. Then she realized that they were included and apologized 3. Then she transferred me to a guy (I think it was the driver) who unapologetically told me that they ran out of blankets and that I could call around to other U-haul locations if I wanted to. I found the whole thing unacceptable. First to included no blankets, second to not tell me that they ran out of blankets, third to ask me to do the leg work to find blankets for my move. The other parts of the process were great however this part left a really sour taste in my mouth.Richard H.

One thing I would recommend changing is when we signed up for a U-Box it gave us many location options to store/load our U-Box (Edison, Brunswick, Scotch Plains). However, when it came time to load it, it wasn't at the location that we chose (Scotch Plains), it was even further (Hillside). I wish we would have known that some U-Haul locations don't offer U-Box, and other locations do.Kevin M.
