Several times had difficulty accessing unit. One time it was an urgent need and the hallway was totally blocked by another person reorganizing their unit. Mentioned it to staff. I rented a 5x8 trailer to go from Halifax to Kingston, with a stop in Montreal. I had to tow the EMPTY trailer all the way back to Halifax from Kingston to get the daily rate, because dropping it off in Kingston would have cost me OVER $5000.00!!! THE SUPPOSED REASON WAS THAT THE OUTLET WOULD BE DEPRIVED OF THE INCOME FOR THAT TRAILER IF I DIDN'T BRING IT BACK. It's a TRAILER! It is just as likely that someone would be coming to Halifax with that type of trailer anyway, evening out the available inventory. The one-way price was HIGHWAY ROBBERY as far as I'm concerned and I will never rent from U-Haul again if I can possibly avoid it. My brother moved one-way from London, Ontario to Lunenburg Nova Scotia with a 15' U-Haul truck towing their car on a U-Haul trailer behind, and it cost just around $3400.00. The policy is obviously to squeeze as much money as possible out of the customer. I can understand that there could be an increased cost for certain equipment going one way, but over $5000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a small trailer. I was quite happy with the outlet people but will I ever recommend U_Haul to any one? Not a snowflake's chance in Hell!!!!!!Peter Edward K.

I will be honest I do find for myself that yes it's really great that you get storage for one month free but I got to be honest with you I move back due to daughters health reasons and I'm on disability CPP and the affordability of the units every month is very high. The first time I called in I was told I can return the big truck at any U-Haul location but when I called in the second time after renting the truck I was told I would be charged $400 fine . Then when I called in a third time I was told I would be charged $80, it's clear non of the employees have strict rules to follow and contrary to what is told on the phone that all calls are recorded to keep our promises with you.OMAR GAMAL OKBY A.

9/10 experience. Storage unit was secure, but not well lit. I was very disappounted that I had never been offered a continental breakfast during the duration of my patronage. It would have been nice to see a pizza day once in a while too. Another gripe I had was that there was no public washroom and/or tennis facility. I still use uhaul but not as often as I used to. I have a storage locker that we're starting to empty and once that's done I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I had one bad experience with a billing error that wasn't my fault. I complained. Dealt with the store manager but she did not resolve the issue. It left me with sour grapes and now I just don't like being in your store. Most of the staff is nice. Also, for the second time while accessing my storage unit I was forced to share space with an electrical contractor who doesn't wear a Covid mask indoors. I believe in science, there is a pandemic going on, and your business had signs on every door telling people to remain masked at all times indoors. We rent from UHAUL A LOT. We generally get a great rate for the kms that we travel due to the amount that we use uhaul (about once or twice a month we rent from you). The last gentleman that we dealt with was very standoff ish and rude and wouldn't do anything for us. To say we are upset is an understatement.Lisa S.

Slow service and the representatives truly do not give a sweet crap about their jobs. $370 for a cargo van fir 48 hours , I arrived 15 minutes late the employee was truly a real piece of work about it. I am a bit disappointed with the misinformation I received regarding your promotions. I called on October 8th to inquire about promotions and rates as I saw one on line for one month free storage with truck rental. I called the Halifax location to ask specifically about this promotion. I was told it was available for both one way and in town rentals. I asked if I could book it on line or had to be in store, I was told I could do either. I proceeded to book both my truck rental and storage online. The promotion was not valid. I had issues picking up my truck on my mobile device as it did not show up on my account reservations, only my storage. I went to Customer Service to check in for my truck. Received everything, no problems. Disappointed that there was no access code available and I was limited to the holiday hours to move and store my items. I asked about the promotion and if the agent could apply it for me. He advised that it had just expired. I asked why I would be told of an expired promotion? He said I could provide feedback. This promotion was the reason I decided to choose uhaul for my truck rental and storage solutions. Finally when I arrived to return my truck, I could not do it via mobile self service as the rental still did not appear on my account reservations. I called the after hours support and was on hold for 40minutes before I was disconnected. I called back and requested a call back which never happened. I called the Halifax location at 7am as soon as it opened to explain my issues with mobile return of my truck. I said I could drive to the location to complete the return in person before my truck was due to be returned should that be required. I was advised it was not necessary. Needless to say, a process that seemed all too effortless on line did not go as smoothly as planned. I chose uhaul for the promotion of one month's free storage if this wasn't the case, I would have chosen other options as there were promotions elsewhere I could have taken advantage of. Storage facility reeked of fish and they did absolutely nothing about it. Called several times to get the situation fixed and was always promised a call back from a manager but that never happened. The sliding door to the facility was broken for the whole time we rented there (6 months) brought that up to employees it was never fixed always had to pry it open, it was supposed to be an automatic door. The sanitizer despenser inside the door was never filled even throughout a lockdown. To say the least renting a locker from U haul was a terrible experience and I am glad to have moved my stuff out of there! My experience was horrible with U-Haul from the beginning to the very end. There were a few bright lights in a mostly miserable experience from the pick up of my trailer to dropping my things off in storage. I really don't know how you Allstate in business with the poor customer service you provide, your internet portals are a joke, no one ever answers the phone and your customer service in person people are burnt out from all the unhappy customers. My reservation wasn't there when I arrived but when you are the most tired in your life there is no fight. The last person I felt with was accommodating sympathetic and kind. I rented storage. In order to access the storage you have to go into the office and have one of the agents press a button. If there are people in line (to rent vehicles, book storage, pay for items, etc, you have to wait behind them. Could be over a half hour just to have them press a button to get into the storage bay.
