I signed up for mobile pickup for a truck because I wanted to pick it up at 7:30 on a Sunday. When I went into the UHaul app to pick up the truck, I got a message stating that my reservation was changed to hand pickup, and that I should come back at 9:00 when the store opened. I lost an hour and a half waiting to pick up the truck. The explanation that I got for the app not working was that someone forgot to put the truck key in the lock box. At least they extended the time for me to return the truck since I have lost 1-1/2 hours waiting.JACKDOMINIC P.

I put twice as much gas as I need back into the tank and was seen on the gas gauge clearly. I still got charged an additional $3.00 for being 3 miles over the estimate. I told the guy before he printed out the receipt and I still got the mileage charge. Seems petty HOWEVER, if $3.00 means so much to Uhaul then must not be petty for me to mention it. It is so annoying and a DELIBERATE strategy that the tanks are not topped off and nearly impossible for customers to not go over the amount they actually used. I was scheduled for my hitch installation on 10/11 at 7am. I drove 40 miles (one way) . When I arrived at 7am I was told my hitch had not arrived. Why wasn't a call made to tell me? My appointment was made 9/22. While at the location I talked to someone at the call center and was told she couldn't help with any concessions. My contact at location was Chris. He was apologetic. My hitch got installed 2 days later. My plan was to also rent a trailer in December to take to Florida. Not sure what to do at this point. ThanksGary B.
Truck barely drove in a straight line. It shook all over the road. It was hard to even keep the truck in the lines. Worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul. And I've used U-Haul many times. Maybe it's time to use other companies next time. And they had brand new trucks sitting there instead they gave me the oldest truck in the parking lot that had damage all over it? When there was atleast 3 of the NEW same size trucks sitting there.kyle O.

I tried to rent one uhaul on state street in Rochester New York online by using my phone and it never went threw. So I went down the street to the one on lake ave. and the employee was very rude. He mad me feel like I was bothering him and just wanted me to leave. He kept saying everything is booked. So I called 1800 number to rent another truck and the representative-said there was on available at that site. So I ended up going to the long pond rd. location and the two guys there were very nice and friendly. They were super helpful and me feel like they wanted my business. I will just go to the long pond rd. location any time I need to rent a truck in the future.SHAUNM B.

So, I rented this 15" truck from the long road location in Rochester NY. This truck was apparently defective. From the sound of the truck, one could tell that there was something wrong with it but i gave it a benefit of doubt since I could not exactly tell what was wrong with it. Right from here in Rochester, this truck was intermittently jerking. So, I made it to NYC which was my destination. On my way back with my sister who accompanied me on the trip, the weird sound of the engine became more worrisome and increasing. When we got to Pennsylvania, it became clear that this truck cannot make it further because at this point, the cracking sound became more intense. So, I pulled over and as son I did that, the truck was engulfed with smoke that came from the front. I actually thought the truck was on fire already but thank goodness, the smoke cleared away and there was no fire. At this time, it was 2am in the morning. We were out in the rain because of the smoke on a very lonely and dark road and I had to call 911 who came to our rescue. It was a very scary moment for both of us. This location rented me a freshly cleaned vehicle, which was ready the second I walked in. Pick up and drop off was easy, the staff were friendly, and my bill was exactly as the estimate had shown. I would have scored and excellent, but my first reservation did not go well. Person that took it said I was all set for 9am the previous week and there were no trucks. The trailer had bad bearings and the brakes didn't work til the last minute, causing the trailer to "slam" the truckANDREWD C.
While the team at this location did the best they could to help me, I cannot recommend Uhaul as a whole. I was called the day before my reserved day to.be told they had no truck. Then when I called 20 minutes before my newly scheduled time, I was told by someone from the call center that the truck was available, only to show up and wait for almost an hour because the truck had not been returned. I will definitely be looking at other companies the next time I need to rent a truckEdward B.

I had ordered and paid for my hitch 1 month in advance. Upon arrival to the facility with my vehicle, I was told the part was not delivered. The representative I dealt with located another hitch from the area, but that took 4 hrs longer than what should have been done in the 1st place. I had to travel to this location 4 times that day on the other side of the city from where I live to get this installed. The representative told me that the U-Haul closest to me does install hitches (Irondequoit location), but your website did not allow me to choose that location. Your company is a mess. #1 Get the website information current. #2 If parts are not delivered on-time have the courtesy to send an email, or make arrangements in advance to get the parts from other locations so your customers are not put out. #3 Poor planning and communication on your part places the customer-facing employees in bad situations and causes them undue stress that can be alleviated by better planning and communication on your part. I really should get a partial refund for losing work time and for the aggravation this caused when all of it should have been avoided.Steve D.
