Stop overbooking equipment on the Uhaul website! I saw several customers that booked a reservation for a storage unit and were denied the unit because the website overbooked them. I reserved a moving dolly but there were no more available. It made my moving experience much harder. The boxes were delayed a few days with no communication of a new arrival date or time. When I got through to folks at Uhaul, the response was always that once the boxes are on a truck, they can not be tracked. That policy is absolutely insane. Someone somewhere is dealing with the logistics. I understand that delays sometimes happen, but not that the boxes "can't be located until they arrive".Eben A.

When moving in we had a hiccup with having something too tall to make it in the unit. TJ helped me out by find us a larger unit. I just lost everything. My son died in 2015. My wife passed away Aug 2020. My mother is in Hospice. My sister was diagnosed with kidney disease last week. And now I'm homeless due to hurricane Ilsa and flooding. My home is under 38 inches of water that will take months to receed and years to rebuild. This was an okay experience at the initial setup, but as soon as we had the ubox moved across states it just went downhill and has continued to get worse. The ubox was a couple days late despite the guaranteed delivery date and we had to call to find out it arrived cause nobody bothered contacting us even though it was requested again once we found out it was late. Then we tried to reserve to get access to our box and it was facing the wall and the associate was unable to use the forklift to get it out so we had to come back the next day, and when we arrived it was still facing the wall, even though we had called twenty minutes prior to make sure it was accessible. Finally we were able to access it after about another 30 minutes for the associate to turn it around. After two days we were finished and let the associate know we were done with the box and now they've charged $125 for another month of use and after almost a week I've been unable to get ahold of anyone from the store to get the issue fixed. I've tried online and they kept me on hold for so long that I've been sent to a regional office who try to contact the location but I still haven't heard anything.Deborah S.

This Uhaul location is impossible to get in touch with. I was charged mistakenly for rent for an empty box even though my mover had picked up and delivered my full box a few days ago. I tried calling the location but (after being on hold for an hour) it always goes to the national uhaul customer service location, who then has to email the Gainesville location. If someone actually at the Gainesville location could be available for phone assistance, it would help make the solving of issues much easier and faster.Minji K.

Customer service representative was very friendly and helpful. Trailer that I was given I discovered 2 screws in one tire upon arriving home. Roadside assistance is a joke. 30 minutes on hold with the automated system and still had nobody answer. Alex, at the above location, saved the day for me after the U-Haul center at which I'd reserved my trailer (Midgard Self-Storage Newberry) dropped the ball. I arrived at Midgard early on June 5th in order to be the first customer since I had people waiting to help me load/unload at both ends of my move. Everything went great until they hooked up the trailer, at which point they said the lights didn't work, and they didn't have another trailer. THE KICKER: They'd tried to rent that trailer the day before and the lights didn't work then either, but rather than find/fix what was wrong, or notify me of a problem in time to make other arrangements, they just assumed it was a fault with the tow vehicle wiring. So I'm stressed, but stay calm, as they find another trailer halfway across Gainesville. I'm running way late at this point, but Alex is expecting me, gets me hooked up quickly, and does everything he can to make things as right as possible. So, super-high praise for Alex and U-Haul Moving and Storage of Gainesville, but Midgard should have been far more proactive in dealing with a defective trailer.WESLEY D.

My complain is really not to the pick up place, rather to the truck. Was a terrible truck with loud whistling noise ( have recording if needed) and passenger side mirror that would not stay adjusted in 5 min. So drove 650 miles with no mirrors in a truck. Almost deadly to do this as changing lane was not safe at all and done blindly. But to make things even worse, after 65 mph, there was a loud whistling noise that could drive any sane person to insane. This is as a minimum immoral to give a truck like this to people and maybe even illegal as it is unsafe vehicle...Mehrdad T.

Nice facility and great staff but was disappointed with two things. Was not pleased to learn that the 10' x 10' unit I had preordered was advertised as such but upon opening the unit, it was actually two smaller units with a wall in between-not ideal for large furniture pieces. Was able to switch the two small units to one large one but, after measuring the new unit, the interior was about a foot less than 10' x 10,' which is what I'm being charged for every month. Had to move additional belongings into a family member's house because the space was tighter than advertised. The fact that what's advertised isn't what's sold is very frustrating for both customers and staff who are trying their best to help. Please update marketing materials to accuracy and, when building future facilities, do not sell two split units as "one large unit." Everything went great signing up online, got a free lock. I was really pleased to see how clean and well lit the facility is. The free use of the moving carts is an add bonus. The only issue is my passcode doesn't work, so every time I opened my unit it sets off an alarm which turns off after about one second. I asked someone and he said he thought the alarm system is down. But that is something they should tell the new guy or post it somewhere. When we checked in the girl that checked us in smelled like a pot factory and my daughter who was waiting with me just looked at me and as we left she also commented about the smell. And another day we went to get some stuff out and her and another employee came from the side of office building and you could smell the pit in the air. Over the last couple of months I have seen this facility go down hill. For 3 days, the trash in the bathroom was over flowing. There was a cup of trash in the elevator and the halls had trash in them as well. This is not a single occurrence. This has been the new norm recently. The staff is super underwhelming as well. Every time I went to the office I was greeted with hufffs and puffs. When I asked for assistance it seemed as if I was requesting the world from them. Just overall not very friendly.
