My first time ever renting a uhaul and the employees at this location were very welcoming and made it truly hassle free. In and out in no time!! Great customer service and all done with smiles on their faces.Moana T.
The 10' truck had roaches in it!! It was horrible. My aunt passed away and we got the uHaul to help family move her belongings. When I arrived and opened the back of the truck, we immediately saw 1/2 dozen cockroaches scurry on the inside walls! Entered to try and kill them by swatting with magazines and stepping those on ground. As we were doing this at minimum a dozen more roaches started scurrying around and as result, we were unable to use the truck! I had a drop off time of 9am this morning but, had to drop off after only a few hours. I told the assistant and he said no refund- nothing he can do about bugs in the truck. I said these ate not just bugs, they are roaches!! They can hop onto peoples shoes , clothes, etcâ€¦ they are filthy horrible and disgusting. While he agreed with me, he still stated they would not compensate me for the wasted rental due to the roaches in UHaul's truck!!! UNBELIEVABLE. He would not even provide a discount. I followed thru with agreement and filled the tank based on the 50 mile R/t to my aunt's house. Bought roach spray and sprayed in back of the Uhaul truck as well, of which more roaches scattered out of crevasses in the top and sides of the inside of back of the truck. Uhaul charged me almost $200 and I didn't even get to use the truck to haul a single item due to roach infestation! I told the assistant manager that the truck needs to be fumigated â€" he AGREED!! I showed him the roaches we killed and he still said no discount or partial refund. Unreal as he said they clean the inside of trucks by blowing air in them to get dust/dirt â€" but, said we cannot control bugs. Uhaul has a responsibility to provide customers with roach free moving trucks- there is no argument Uhaul can justifiably state otherwise. I would like the corporate CEO to make this Uhaul location make right by me. I will pay the gas I'm not looking for a refund there but I do want a refund for a truck that I was unable to used due to roach infestation that is so wrong to be charged for something I couldn't even use not due to my negligence this is due to U-Haul's negligence. You may not know that the people you're renting your trucks out to have roaches. But if all you do is blow pressurized air into the back of a moving truck to get the dirt and dust out that does nothing with regard to roaches. Additionally there's like orange soda on the far back wall spilled clearly visible that was not cleaned it was dry and been on there for a while probably part of the reason there was roaches in the truck the trucks at the Federal Way U-Haul or not clean. The trucks are getting a bit old - but that's to be expected. I rented two different vehicles today and both worked just fine. The key element to this location are the people. They are fantastic. My second rental had a problem, because the person that was supposed to return the van I was going to rent ended up being over two hours late. So the U-Haul representatives worked out a strategy to get me into a van with very little delay. ¡Gracias!Lowell T.

Was charged an unexpected $100 deposit. The terms of my agreement in person were not the same terms I was given over the phone when confirming my reservation. In the future, Uhaul would be my last choice. My phone quote included 250 miles instead of 218 and insurance was included. My in person rental did not include insurance for an additional $45. I had no choice...Suppose I budgeted for the cost quoted to me on the phone??? Fortunately, I had wiggle room and was in a position that I had funds for the surprise extra $145 charge. What choice did I have??? I had traveled 175 miles on the bus as well as movers in place. About the gasâ€¦and gas prices these days, I left the rental with an extra 1/4 of a tank of gas which I would have used with 32 extra miles I was supposed to have. I took the loss on the gas vs what the change would have been for the mileage over 218 miles. UHaul got a win with me on this rental experience. Improvement for the next customer....consistancy and some sort of internal communcication and documentation.BRENDA B.
It was a great location. One person was checking in .checking out and looking at the truck. So technically only one person was working. But seeing a lot of other employees standing around. Waited for a good period of time just to check out. It was a line and we were all complaining and watching other workers taking a vantage of one. Very unfortunate to see. Also I am over overcharged and having to dispute. Nothing was adjusted when returned I got a receipt of what should be charged. The amount on my receipt is not the amount that they withdraw from my account.. Very unfortunate Been a loyal customer. The truck was not maintained well and obviously had been in a wreck that resulted in the truck shifting poorly, not being able to put it in park without multiple efforts, there was a large black plastic piece hanging from under the front of the truck, the truck was not sealed inside and the road noise was like the windows were open or door was open, the truck wreaked like B.O. and was not clean on the exterior either. The truck had multiple instances where it would sputter and jerk for 1-2 minutes before returning to kind of driving normal.SEAN V.

The vehicle was not cleaned. And one of the previous renters had a pet in the van. There was pet hair all over the seats and floors. I would have returned the vehicle but it was the only one available. I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the vehicle. I and my boyfriend are allergic to pet dander. We coughed and sneezed the entire day and night. Maybe uhaul should purchase lint rollers to clean up after people, because this was nasty and unsanitaryMichael B.

The first guy i spoke to was a dick. I aked about a rental and was told if it had wheels it was reserved. So i went back to my jeep and reserved one walked back in and got my rental. It was in really bad shape and it wasn't going over 35mph. It was shaking on 40 miles. My house is on the hill. It couldn't go up so i had to return it. Also their gas gauge wasn't at the pint it was Saying on the paper so i took a picture and showed it to them. They were apologetic about it but they said their all uhauls are old and doesn't work properly. It also had an engine problem.Supreet J.

The location where my storage unit was located told me they were overbooked and had no units available. When I asked where I was supposed to store my stuff they literally shrugged their shoulders at me. I asked them to call and find me another storage facility and they refused to help. I even asked who I needed to call to get a storage unit and I was told I could find the number on my reservation. The people were absolutely no help and had a very poor attitude. They absolutely refused to help me in any way and simply said, " that's how it is when they over book us." This has been the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had. We moved our stuff out of the unit on February 26, 2022, and the unit wasn't closed out like it was supposed to be. It only got closed out on March 10th after they called asking for payment. Also, when I reserved a smaller unit. I was told that we would get the money back for the bigger unit or it would transfer over to the new unit, but was told on March 10th that they don't pro-rate. The staff was great and the facility was well maintained. The surrounding area is the issue. There's been shootings nearby and break ins at the location. There are no flat carts due to theft. I could not get my Christmas tree out this year. (It's very large and heavy and needs a flat cart). I had 24 hour access but as the rates went up and crime went up, I moved to somewhere that I feel safe bringing my four year old daughter with me. I witnessed arguments on site with customers and was approached by some sketchy people. The murder in the complex next door was the final straw. My rating would've been a five (5) star rating, but due to unforeseen policy changes in operating hours I am forced to leave a two (2) star rating because of the inconvenience that it has caused me. What is the whole point of having a storage unit that you cannot access during business hours when you work those same business hours. It just doesn't make any sense. I have used this facility for years and have never had an issue. I have had a storage unit for the past 5 years that has changed in size more than 5 times and the switch over was seamless and smooth. I have also rented a truck/van from them about 10 times. Every vehicle and transaction was great! I recently closed my storage unit due to a move out of the area which resulted in an extra charge on my card due to an oversight. I called the location to report the issue and was credited within 2 hours including an email and phone call apology. The management is terrible. The management on day shift is rude and unhelpful. I arrived and was told to remove the car from the carport was $75.00 dollars. I have never had to pay in other states. I then was asking for help to remove them myself, and a employee on night shift did not even tell me a chain was still on the vehicle, and was going to let me back up with it on. I asked him why he stated ( I forgot) (really!) I was then told the next day that it was only $35.00 dollars to remove the car. (WOW!) Then I moved out of storage on the proper date 11/22/21 and it was never done. I had to drive a hour to make sure as the management said. I was going to do it. After repeating phone calls to UHaul. This place is a rip off, and thrives. Improper behavior and terrible management that I have ever encountered. I should get a refund. The Enchanted Pkwy location in Federal Way was amazing. In the last few months I've had to rent a vehicle, a storage unit, and finally load a Ubox. South Lake Tahoe (Emerald Bay) general manager was rude and disrespectful. The assistant manager had no idea what he was doing, and refused to help out. Stated everyone was new. When arrived at Seattle, WA Federal Way location. The management stated it was $75 dollars to release my car from the auto transport. Next day it was $30. Employees need more training or support to provide efficient and effective customer service. They are courteous but incompetent and nearly every step of my experience was delayed and required me to return to the counter to get their mistakes fixed. Errors occurred with storage and moving truck that delayed my move in AND move out and I was never offered any apologies or concessions except for when calling the customer service number. This STORAGE area Customer Bathroom broken entire time, the staff at this location was VERY mediocre except Daniel and Michael, a Boss. I was assigned #1986 which has an outside personal lock on it they couldn't have removed asap, the next best location was in #2051 even further away (I have Disabilities from Car accidents so walking too far is torture) but this unit was too small but by this time , this location was closed. The After hours Call center Rep couldn't Reserve a new bigger spot because the store was closed. (What????!!!**""). They never recommended reserving online, either. I found out the next day my own online reservation for a bigger unit wasn't avail in this location because someone else had reserved it for 2 weeks out and it's 1st come, 1st RESERVED. Now these issues had been going on for 3 days and I had to keep my 15' van overnight for 3 extra days to remove my belongings but was never able to fully do it (at this location) so I found another Storage unit (that wasn't a U-Haul) closer to our home. When I went in to turn in my access card and request my-UNUSED but out of the package- Padlock (at the Federal Way, WA store) because I didn't need it anymore, I was accused of not buying the padlock (I proved it was bought on the #1986 unit) but still couldn't return it as it had no packaging. Nor did these 2 guys even CARE that I was leaving for another company. Wait for it, there's more ....the rental of my 15' Van for local for 1 day around town was charged $167, not the advertised $29.95/ day. $40 was added each day that I couldn't offload my stuff from the Van. I also needed my SUV stored but it's a 4x4 and Customer service tried to rent me a tow dolly that would've damaged my 4x4. I'm not making this stuff up. I've had THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS FEDERAL WAY, WA U-HAUL LOCATION. AVOID IT AT ALL COST!!!!Mary J. | Overall Experience

I got stuck in construction traffic moving across the state so I showed up 13 minutes before closing. The first guy seemed helpful initially but completely apathetic that the movers I booked through Uhaul no-showed me. He gave me a unit that still had a lock on it, so not so helpful after all. I had to go back for a different unit but they had just closed so the guy tried to ignore me. I banged on the door till another guy showed up and found me another 5x10 unit. I was told I wasn't allowed to park my truck rental on site overnight while I figured out how to unload it without movers. …The locked storage unit was still in the system as available the next day so it will happen to the next customer…. I didn't get instructions on how to use the 2 entry keypads but staff seemed annoyed or condescending the next morning when my attempts failed and I asked for help. Turns out the access doors still weren't unlocked an hour and a half after business opened so it wasn't operator error. They only unlocked one set of doors at the unloading zone or the other doors were broken. 2 out of 5 people gave appropriate customer service and basic courtesy. I am very upset. I was under the impression that my move-out date was the end of the month just like when you rent other spaces. I expected that the fee I just paid in advance for the next month would be prorated back in a credit...so that I would only have paid for 3 days of the month. It's totally WRONG for Uhaul to keep more than $100 for days that are unused. When I tried to talk to the staff about it they said it's just Uhaul policy not to rebate pre-paid fees. Security issue: Middle age female on side walk outside the main doors to storage, walked in through the open main entrance doors when others came and went. She was nervously looking around, so I continued to watch her from outside our rental truck. She lifted up one torche' lamp and started to walk away with it. She saw me watching and motioned, "oh, is this yours?". She put it down, came outside and said, "oh, I thought these were free." If I hadn't been standing outside watching her, lamps would have been stolen. I did report it to the office.Doug D. | First Impressions

i am unable to verify my storage unit details online after setting up my account. it appears the staff may have signed me up for two units after i viewed one and decided it was too small and asked to rent a larger unit instead, not in addition. The storage unit i was assigned was in the very back of the building and a huge walk from the offload. I am disabled and before I even opened the locker, I went back into the store part, explained my situation and asked for.something close to the door. He gave me two smaller units that he said were close, but they were just as far. Half way down and then all the way over to the end of the building. Also I tried opening my locker and the alarm went off every time so I couldn't open it. I had no way to physically get my stuff in there. I Loved my overall experience with Uhal-storage, the only problem that I had is the lien fee which is put on your account and can't be reversed. Because the large storage is not covered under the move-in-special, I had to get two small units so I could use the move-in special. this means when my hours where cut I did not have to come up with one fee of $108. but two. I know that everyone as well as business are suffering during this time, but you asked so I thought I would share, and if you would like to bless me with a refund of the $216. I will receive it (smile). Again I love your hours of entry they are perfect and the cleanliness of your storages are amazing. Thank you and I would use your services again but my prayers are that I never have to experience homelessness ever again in life.... maybe the experience will be just to store a overflow of items.. My concern is pest invasion. My belongings were stored for three years and didn't have carpet beetles when first stored. Upon removing my belongings, carpet beetles were discovered in the unit. Also, there was some kind of construction that caused dirt (soil) to fall into the unit, which had to be cleaned off of some belongings.
