The two employees at the front desk were exceptionally helpful. Attempted to drop off the car dolly at Columbia Falls U-Haul and was not allowed, even though I was told this would be possible. Sat for a couple of mins before getting out toi find one worker sitting in a truck browsing through his phone. Then proceeded to help someone else when they pulled up. I also delivered equipment 2 days early and got a call the day after it was supposed to be returned asking when I was going to return it. I literally used to work for Uhaul and would check inventory every day I came in and return the vehicles or trailers that were discovered on my inventory check. These guys don't know how to do their job. I took top 4 months in a row out of 100 dealers years ago. This was sad. pathetic. If you want me to hire me to be a manager here. Contact me and I can make this place run better.Robert M.

I told the counter clerk that I would be returning the truck on Wednesday, he said no problem. And told me it would be an additional day's expense. He was not honest. It cost me the additional day's rent and a $50. fee.Raymond C.
I can always get a short term rental when I need it. I like that. The service is usually very fast and efficient. I like the facility and the layout and the convenience of being able to return the equipment after hours. My one request is that you implement an appearance/dress code for your employees. I'm of the older generation and having a young girl complete my transaction with 25 pieces of metal hanging off of her face and tattoos on top of that is just unappealing. GraciasGlen M.

They charged us something we are not sure what it was for as it appeared in my credit card. At the end of the day this experience was a nightmare and we will never use uhaul again. This cost is additional $700 due to uhaul's negligence and thank our lucky stars we did not have a blow out on the mountain roads which would have been life threatening.Kevin W.

This was the worst UHaul truck I have ever driven. The steering wheel would not come down far enough to be comfortable. I drove 1600 miles in an uncomfortable position. My hands hurt. The steering wheel was sticky and there was some liquid dried onto the middle headrest. I told the guy I would need extra days with the truck and he blew me off causing the people on the other end to have a problem. What a mess!Carl H.

Business process is poor. Sales person tried to add extra cart and blankets that are wired into the truck. That same equipment stole about 4 ft.Â² of space from me in packing out the truck. And the text reminding me to check the truck for any defects or else I accepted it as being defect free upon leaving lot arriving hours after I left the lot was not very useful.Richard H.

When I arrived I was given an instructions to meet a U-Haul employee outside next to the truck and car trailer. The guy gave me the keys and seemed to be in a rush to move on to the next client. The employee did not state anything about walking around the truck, nor did he give any instructions about how to properly use the car trailer. I had to ask him to do so. When I entered into the truck I noticed that the fuel was below the level initially indicated by the U-Haul employee. I entered into the U-Haul store and notified a very helpful girl regarding this detail, which she accommodated and notated. I then left the facility and began driving the U-Haul home. What I noticed was that the steering wheel had to be at the 10:00 position in order to drive straight. The alignment was clearly off. Additionally there were lights on the trailer that were out. While driving home I called the U-Haul location back and notified an employee. He stated that they had had a couple of their trucks in to the shop, and we're unable to fix this.I asked him to notate this in our account, and he stated that he was the manager and would remember our conversation. I was not satisfied with the answer, and I had my wife call later and asked to have a U-Haul employee notate this on our account. The employee was rude to my wife and stated that this was something we should have noted on our walk around. It should be noted that poor alignment isn't something that you note on a walk around. Additionally, we were never instructed to do a walk around.I could hear the employee aggressively reprimanding my wife over the phone. It was 4:30 on the weekend and the employee stated they were the only one there and did not have time to notate it on our account. The employee eventually did so reluctantly. My 1200 Mile Drive was uneventful, but it was evident that due to the poor alignment that I got significantly worse gas mileage during a time of record high gas prices. I was not pleased. I can't imagine that Uhaul would have been willing to compensate me for the increase gas costs, and so I did not argue the point. This is my third interaction with u-haul, and the only time I have had an issue. The receiving facility was excellent.Davis B.

I rented a truck two times on this local move. I'd had previous bad experiences with U-Haul so I was a little nervous. This location is run seamlessly, though. Friendly, helpful staff. If the equipment is unavailable, you should probably call sooner than 5 minutes before the pickup time, and you probably shouldn't charge customers for days they can't even use the equipment because it wasn't available during the time it was requested. This was a truly horrible customer service experience. The first person we dealt with was exceptionally rude and unhelpful, and the issue only got resolved because I called customer service.Tibet S.
Give them Quinn's phone number, 406 545 2595. She is a customer service star and fixes problems with zero fuss. Also hire an IT expert to make your website actually work. I chose U-Haul primarily for the safety and security features. When I was moving out of my first apartment, I was moving a lot of stuff at night after dark and as a single female, I felt nervous using a storage facility that was not lit, visible from a main road, or had unit security. At U-Haul, I definitely paid more than other places, but I always felt safe. My only qualm with U-Haul was the recent rent increase this year (which I totally understand in this valley but I am an educator! I don't make a lot of money!) especially since there had not been any tent increases in the past 2 or 3 years that I had been renting. otherwise, would definitely rent again and recommend to friends.Barbara O. | Overall Experience

Rates are a little higher than local spots and this was the only choice I had. Always an issue with my card not working or the box not taking my pin- I set off the alarm almost every time even when staff helped. Staff was friendly yes but almost always so un professional. The lady in charge gave poor customer service. She did not acknowledge customers arriving. Not even a nod. The line was growing and I asked if there was someone else who could help. There was another employee cleaning the floor and shelves. She said no he was not qualified. After another customer moved up she then called the other employee to help. I stepped up. I needed a unit for a month as I moved from another state. I was unable to move into my house on the scheduled day, two days behind schedule. So I couldn't get my belongings out of the unit on time. They charged me a late few and another months rent for being a little late, though no fault of my own. The move on process was very confusing and unclear. Not communicated to me at all, and then there was no lock in my unit once I opened it. I had to go back to the front desk and wait 5 minutes just to tell them that because they wouldn't answer when I called from the unit. I got my 5x5 for free. I rented it getting the 1st month free. I only needed it for a month? How does that work? I did reserve a pick-up for a Saturday to move my contents. The day before, I was told they didn't have one available. That's a fairly big over-site, one I hope this u-haul will work on to correct.
