I'm impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff at the Horseheads store were.
I am rating average because I was charged a late fee for the one month out of almost an entire year that I didn't get an email reminder about the payment being due. The late fee was applied without any warning. I have attempted repeatedly to get the late fee credited back to me without success, as I can only call customer service and they supposedly have emailed my concerns to the general manager of this facility, but that person has never responded.
Never got calls back and most of the time the store never answered my calls. In the end they finally gave me a refund though.
Mike was very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. I was appreciative for the positive and professional experience. Thank you!

Nice facility. Staff is not very good with computer. I was charge not once but twice a 15.00 late fee when i originsally set up for electronic payment with both units.. I had 3 units and rented several trucks to move... Consider myself a good customer Definately not happy with a no pro rate policy. I rented 3 units and two of them were over 8 months. Finally closed on a house and was able to get help to move and just paid monthly rent and moved out units a week later. No refund. Definately not customer friendly.
I was pleased with the service of your company but was only reimbursed half of the deposit i made,recieved only 100 dollars upon inspection of truck and was told it was supposed to be 200.
Staff is amazing
Staff was very helpful, I think his name may have been Steve. He made sure I had the closest possible unit to the door since he knew I was storing heavy items, that was a major help.. Also, very nice indoor storage facility.
Wait times were extremely long, we were told we would have a 10x20x10 unit and this location does not even offer that size. They had once in left of the 10x15x10 and when we went to lock it up the lock was broken. An employee has to come with a hammer to get it closed and asked us to come back the following day so we could be there when they changed the lock. Very inconvenient. We haven’t gone back yet. I tried to add my husband to our storage unit reservation and no one could help me. I couldn’t get a hold of anyone at the store and kept going to customer service finally a lady sent a message to the store to have someone call us. We tried calling on Monday one day after storing items to see if they were free to change our lock it went to customer service who said someone would call us and no one did.
The gentleman who helped us at the counter was very friendly and very efficient!

I worked with two employees at this location and both were understanding and helpful in both my truck rental and storage choice. They had words of wisdom and unending patience.
Although the property was safe, secure and clean, the most unfriendly, unhelpful, unprofessional and lazy people I’ve ever come across.
poor communication between your franchise owners. Found it suspicious that autopay waited until there was a late fee before charging my card. Will specifically seek out alternatives in future moves.

Contract price was higher than quoted. Gave us an ADA storage space with a small door instead of a rollup door. Female employee was rude.

The personnel involved in my rental were excellent.!! These people are a credit to U-Haul..!!
The large sliding door broke down and the local employees would NOT work with customers to open it. Made customers use the pass door which posed a HUGE safety concern for moving large items.

I did a one way truck rental to Elmira, and wanted to use the free month of storage. First I was forced to buy an $11 lock despite having my own, and then the unit smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

I was a little confused about moving everything in the storage unit. The alarm went off I think because the door was opened too long. Or i needed to swipe when i kept coming out eventually it shut off

Everything was great
Lost my key due to a crime committed at my home when someone broke in. They refused to help me. Said "didn't lose my keys, not my problem". Held my items against my will for two months.
The manager, George, terrible!!! Gave me the wrong storage unit type. Hung up on me on the phone. If I treated my clients as he did, I would be fired in my work. NO customer service skills at all.

I choose 0 if I could. Rude & obnoxious Left multiple msgs for a week before my issue was resolved and that was only bc I filed a formal complaint with corporate. Barabara & George need to be fired.

I have used long term Climate Controlled Storage Units in other states, including Uncle Bobs in Ohio, ExtraSpace in Kentucky and Guardian Storage in Pennsylvania. This U-Haul location was the best!
