JEFF MOORELast Friday March 1, 2024 I rented a Uhaul for in state move. I only traveled 70 miles however the truck that we were give odometer, battery light and some others we on. The truck was returned that and I called in and expressed my concerns. The next morning I spoke with a rep about this issue and the fact I was overcharged for 200 extra miles I did not drive. I was advised this a ticket will be open and someone from the office would follow up midweek. On Sunday someone reached out via phone stated that the issue was being resolved and I should be receiving a call back during the regular business hours during the week as it couldn’t be update over the weekend due to limited access. The also advised that someone test drove the faulty truck and that I would only be charged $60 in total and the other $200 plus dollars would be charged off due to the issue with the rental. However as of today the original payment is still on my account, nothing has been updated on the system or in my account. No one has a followed up again and now I am receiving a collection notice for payment I shouldn’t be required to cover as told. Please pull all recent phone calls and check tickets in the system The truck was also dirty had alcohol cans in the cab faulty tires couldn’t accelerate and was very shaky as advised which is the reason it was supposed to be investigated and a resolution was supposed to be provided but nothing

John SheridanIt’s infested with mice. There was a dead mouse inside of my storage unit on a mouse trap that had decade. My worry is that they are going to crawl in my furniture to keep warm. The staff was helpful and nice, the only issue I had was spending 10 minutes looking for my u-haul. The directions I was given was “Your truck is located at the top of the lot” Suggestion: A staff member should bring the truck to the front of the building. It seems that what most customers do when dropping the U-Haul off.

Patrick FraancilienThe self pickup process alone was a hassle . It was not smooth I had to call the 24/7 hotline 3x before I actually got my equipment . In the morning when I finally was able to load up I only made it down the street before the engine blew up . I called the road side assistance people who said someone would come out . From 8:30am -4pm is how long that entire process took. TOO LONG and in the midst of me being patient an employee from the uhaul place stated I could not have my deposit transferred over to my new contract they wanted me to pay again for another day . When I wasn’t even able to use the uhaul at all basically . After a lot of back and forth I somehow was finally able to get a truck . But they still wanted me to pay for miles ect . It was at that point I stated it was fine but honestly it’s not fine. Whoever was there when I picked up the truck though was super friendly he made sure everything was right for me ! So in the end I will say customer service was outstanding . The uhauls themselves are very clean they also have backup cameras now and are more modern . Which was really nice . But i literally don’t think I ever wanna go through that process again. It wasted so much of my time . They need to fix there road side assistance to make it more efficient and faster service . They also need to do better at checking in on people they would send me messages through the app asking if the people have arrived only every hour . Constantly saying eta 30 mins then changed again to 45mins to the point when someone was actually on the way the eta was 2hrs . And then the lack of communication between road side and the uhaul place itself .

It was infested with mice, all my things, including things that were cherish that belong to my father, who has passed were saturated in feces and mouse or rat urine. All my belongings were ruined!! Also, the manager at the facility was extremely rude and spoke to me like I was someone that was a homeless gutter rat until he found out that I did not live anywhere near the facility that I had rented at that. In fact, I was a registered nurse living in a high end part of Maryland when I pointed this out to him he was very ugly, and he has no business and management! He really needs to learn how to treat all people like a human being, regardless of their status or address!!!!

I had extra money and wanted to put $100.00 onto my account so when the bill became due, I would only owe $44.95. I’m on a fixed income and partial payments help me pay my bills on time. UHaul doesn’t allow partial payments and when bill became due I wasn’t able to pay full amount. I ended up incurring excessively high late fees and othe fees. Altogether I ended up paying around $80.00 plus two monthly storage fees. When I rented my last truck, I got met with a NO RENT TO ME situation because of a previous rental. I was told I owed $297.00 for truck rental from weeks before due to mileage. I ended up having to pay $163.11 plus $121.00 to get truck. I had no choice considering I had moving help coming from Washington, DC. NOT EVER RENTING ANYTHING FROM UHAUL IN THE FUTURE. GREEDY for money and charges excessive high fees. Don’t give the customer no kind of breaks or help by waiving any fees.

Since I was already moved in, she new that it would be a big effort to just move out. The last increase was $20.00/mo. above the price on your sign in the sample show space. When I pointed that out she said she would change the sign. I feel that this is your regular practice and would not do business with you company in the future.
JAY GOLDSBERRY | Overall Experience1) The key code never worked despite several special trips to test it. Every time I opened the unit the alarm went off. 2) Several times over the 2 years I used this unit, the doors were just locked. 3) When it was time to move out, I arrived a day in advance to find a bunch of pickups and box trucks blocking the door to my unit. I asked the front desk nicely to move them and they refused citing, "They're not ours. They're from another store." and gave me the general customer service number to call. The next day, I call and customer service told me there's nothing they can do. I drove back to the store and asked the front desk workers to please move the trucks as I had movers coming in a large truck to load my stuff. He said he'd talk to his manager and would call me if he ran into issues. I go home to help the movers until we got to the storage unit leg of the move. We arrive at the store to find not only did the trucks NOT get moved there were in fact MORE of them in the way. We had to cart everything across the parking lot weaving in and out of trucks just to load everything. This experience was so bad, I'll never use Uhaul ever again, and I'll make sure everyone I know is aware of how this happened. Awful awful customer service.

They cut the lock thinking a person forgot there lock but when they did that they saw the unit was full of stuff. They most likely rented out and forgot to update there records. I would not recommend. The staff stated even that a reservation does not hold a unit so basically first come and first serve but it doesn't state that when making a reservation.

Then the code did not work. I had helpers with me that I paid for and was unable to access the unit due to the time that I arrived under the impression that I would no problem accessing the unit. Then I come back in the morning again with a helper during supposed access hours and my code does not work. So I then have to sit and wait for almost an hour before staff opens up meanwhile I can see staff there and as one comes out to unlock said doors I make mention that my does not work and she says to wait till she's finished and go to the office so she can help. They unlock the maind doors I let them know what my concern she asks me for my code which provide they test it, it does not work, they provide with a new code that doees not work either, then one other employee says "yea a lot of other people are having a hard time with their access code not working either". At which point I memtion the details of my previous nights expierence and they don't regard it as a concern. I proceed with my one helper at this point which now has a job to go to within the half hour so I found myself unloading 90 percent of 15 ft truck. There was not apology or sense of urgency or any other accomodation all while being aware that I had to retirn the vehicle by 11am. I would not recommend this particular side of the business without suggesting they check and verify other options first. Thanks.

molly delen | First ImpressionsThe definition of a reservation is arranging for something to be kept for use of a particular person and not given to anyone else. That is what you would expect when you make a reservation correct? That you have an assured space with your name on it that is ready when you arrive? Apparently that's not what Uhaul thinks a reservation means. I had reserved a storage unit 2 months ago. We pack the truck and drive 6 hours from a different city to the facility expecting my reservation to be ready. Instead, I was told they didn't have any available units in the size or conditions I was looking for...despite receiving CONFIRMATION of my reservation. I was given the explanation that "corporate controls the units" and "you aren't assured a space when you make a reservation". Excuse me? Why call it a reservation when you're NOT ASSURED you have a spot?! I was then told there was a different unit available at the facility but it was a higher price then what I was planning for. I had no choice but to take the HIGHER PIRCED unit due to time constraints. That is ridiculous. Shame on Uhaul for falsely advertising the ability to RESERVE space then forcing your hand into paying for a higher priced unit.

We attempted to ask the staff to cut the lock, which one employee said he was going to get a cutter to do it. However, another staff said a manager must be present. We asked him to call the manager, and he did. He said the manager said to come back the next day and to move our stuff so that it doesn’t get stolen. I understand having certain protocol, but if certain things can’t be done without a manager present; there should be a manager scheduled on every shift. Not to mention, I’ve attempted to complain about the HORRENDOUS rodent issue, but the manager never answers or returns calls. There are roaches crawling everywhere in there and piles of rat feces. Absolutely disgusting.

If I was told that my belongings will be damage in such a way I would have never got a unit. The most painful result is throwing away most of my things because of the horrid smell I couldn't clean from sofas and curtains and the process in which there wasn't any manager present to deal with. only employees who do accept there is an infestation in the storage units. Never again will storage things there.
Jenny Creery | Overall ExperienceI paid for insurance on my stuff in case anything was damaged due being in the storage unit and my stuff ended up getting damaged after only two days of being in storage. Not a week, or a month, two days and all my stuff was infested with mice droppings and a box of damaged items. I’ve tried calling this exact location for help and have had no luck. I’ve filled out these surveys for multiple phone calls to reach out to customer service and ultimately get redirected to someone else who ends up not helping me. On top of this, the contractors working on the flooring made it hard to move my belongs and there are no carts available to move my stuff minus one flat cart and two mattress carts. People don’t need to move that many mattresses so please get at least one if not two more flat carts for the customers. This was unneeded stress that could’ve been avoided. My drop off location was also inputted incorrectly with the truck. Very surprised I can’t get help with anything. I don’t expect a call after this either.

ANTHONY SCOBLICK | Overall ExperienceI was nine months pregnant when I purchased the unit. I came there that night to put my belongings in there and my unit had a lock on it. I had to buy another unit and once we got in that one had a lock on it. So I had to use one that was next to it and hope my items was safe. There was a guy who was living in one of the units that tried to fight me and my husband. I told the manager the next business day and the man was still sleep in his unit. They told me they was refunding me my money for the inconveniences. Took me two trips back to the office and two months to get the money. Once I fell on hard times I came up there numerous times to work something out with the manager Katrina who always said she would call me because she was never in the office. She never did. I also sent emails. She never respond. The guy at the front desk told me my sulf was gone. Only to find out three months be later it wasn't. By then I didn't have 700 dollars. If they would have responded and help when they should have I would have never lost all my items and misinformation. Due to manager not responding. I know business and this is the worst uhal place ever. I'm getting a lawyer because the items that I lost can't be replace. The place needs a new manager and staff members. All they do is sit around and play.

Employees have no knowledge of things, can't even answer basic questions I had that they should know or should have atleast been able to get someone else to answer. Hours are not helpful unless you're willing to pay more which I wasn't and why should I have to have 24 hr access, it should be automatically included in rental price. Line to get to an employee is always long, only one or two people but the second person isn't even on the register. Employees have poor attitudes, no sense of customer service. NO carts available or only one. Long walk to my unit. Unit unclean, bugs, mice and rats! Disgusting! Bathrooms are a joke/Disgusting(NO soap, toilet paper) Trash can over flowing and only have that one or the full nasty one in the bathroom. I can never get through directly to the location and speak to someone during business hours. I vacated, cleaned and emptied my unit after only a month(July) but was charged until 11/22!

I told her I would step out and weigh some other options before deciding on it for sure. I came back not even 20-30 mins later, had to wait at least 15 more mins for someone to come help. His name was Abel. He was very standoffish, only helpful when he wanted to be. Smug, unorganized, and inattentive. I also had to wait after I paid for my unit, for him to take another customer before he walked me over and took off the lock. So I had to wait on his time to even start loading my things. I had other people waiting on me, it was just not a good experience. Had the lady from earlier still been there, I believe my experience wouldve been a lot better.

Damon Waddell | First ImpressionsMy experience was very disappointing. The staff at this location was not helpful and did not seem to understand how to use their reservation programs. The first person helping me typed with just two fingers and did not look at his work so I had to correct him multiple times. The saving grace to that experience was that the screen was turned outward so that I could see it. Otherwise I imagine we would have had even more issues. Then this gentleman could not find my reservation (I believe he was looking in the wrong place) and essentially made me start an entirely new one. When I reserved I was told I would have an outward facing, first floor, climate controlled unit. When I got to the space they would bot look up any record of my unit and tried to assign me to a unit that would have us going through a maze. This facility also seemed to have no security and I wouldn’t trust the staff to watch one of my houseplants let alone all of my belongings. While waiting in the parking lot we witnessed domestic abuse. It became clear during this process that I would need to find a new unit. I asked the staff to help me get a later truck return time free of charge and they could bot help with this either. One person told me that because she did not make the reservation she could not look up the details. This was perplexing because I would assume any uhaul employee should have that ability. Moving has it’s own stresses and emotions leaving a place I love. This experience at u-haul was so horrendous and added such unnecessary stress and lost time to our journey. For the well being of all, this facility should have some serious attention in training and security.

The temperature on the thermostat inside the storage facility rose from 87 to 88 degrees yesterday afternoon as I unloaded my trailer (Sunday, June 27). I brought this to the attention of the manager on duty. She was very nice and attempted to lower the temperature but it did not cool off. This is a serious concern being that many of the customers’ belongings are sensitive to heat, which is why we’ve agreed to pay a premium for climate control units. Please look into this situation and ensure that it’s fixed this week. Thank you

My unit was at the end of row the lights NEVER CAME ON did not feels safe when I was there by myself. When I said something when I closed out the unit I got " yea they are working on it". The young lady never put my insurance in so they said I couldn't file a claim. So I called customer service the young lady that took my application no longer works for Uhaul. So I had to throw both sofas away and as I throwing it away the baby rats was jumping out the sofa. I will never use Uhaul again there were so many mice rat droppings on the floor. I will never use them ever.

michael timmerman | First ImpressionsThe only criticism I have is that on many occasions, ( at least once a month) there seemed to be multiple vehicles parked in the 3 space garage area, often unattended and very much in the way of using the space as advertised. Typically, this would be a truck and their personal vehicles sometimes taking all 3 spaces. One evening the garage was not only full but there were children riding scooters down the hallways and through the doors On another occasion there were 3 guys working and their rented truck and fully extended ramp was parked sideways across all 3 garage spaces. They kindly moved it and allowed me in, but then rather than backing it into the garage, they returned it sideways again ! Also, FYI, there seemed to be some rodent droppings on the floor of my unit when I vacated. I am 60 years old and need the short distance and indoor security that your facility provides. Perhaps just a note posted inside the garage to kindly leave space for others, not blocking any doors, or access to the garage area may be helpful in the future. The service here is excellent, I never had a problem at all. Amanda Hall totally rocks ! When my work picks up again after this pandemic, I will be sure to call U Haul for any future needs.
