The Uhaul computer system went down ... and they couldnt process my reservation for over 1 hour. There was no manual processes that would enable the team to process reservations. The team did the best they could but the systems were severely lackingphilip M.
Have the truck size available that we ordered. The smaller truck created so many issues. It made it impossible to fit all the items being moved into the smaller truck, so two trips were required. That added so much extra time, doubling the mileage, needing an extra day, needing the moving helpers for such an extended time so the cost impact was enormous for our move. We are disappointed with U-Haul and will probably seek more reliable service in the future.al S.

The woman who checked us out @ equipment return was GREAT. So friendly, so professional, just a lovely lady. The gentleman who checked us in, however, was not wearing a mask (it was around his neck). My partner, who was there to help me move, is covid sensitive, so I was very turned off by this. I asked him to pull up his mask, and he did, but like, why am I telling someone to pull up their mask during a pandemic? It put such a bad taste in our mouths for the location/company. I said "N/A" about recommending to a friend because of this dude (it would have been an outright no, but again, the lady who checked our truck back in at 2pm = all-star).LEAH P.

At first they also were helpful and kind. I dropped off the car trailer first, and asked what time they closed that day informing them I would be back by end of day as per my contract. When I dropped off the truck, I was told there was an additional $60 charge because I dropped it off at the wrong location. I explained that is impossible, there was no set location, and I had confirmed prior to drop off that the location I selected was within contract. Then they changed it and charged the amount stated the truck was due back at 12:00 noon, so the charges were for late fees. I was infuriated, left after exploding due to excessive frustration and took the managers contact info. The manager was consistently not available. When I went in person to attempt again, I was again met with excuses and no resolution, conveniently a detective was insight and then it became a bigger nightmare. At one point a staff member yelled and cursed at me on the phone stating he deals with the same thing from customers everyday. That in itself spoke volumes.Alesandra V.

I would recommend this location because it is convenient. I would not if they asked if I felt like a valued customer. I have used this facility before with wonderful experiences. This past time, the truck was dirty and damaged and had grafitti on the dashborad. When I mentioned this to the man working at the counter he said I should talk to the manager when I bring the truck back. I told him I would be right over. When I got there the manager had just stepped out. When I then called later her response was, "then why didn't you bring the truck back for a different one?" We were on a time schedule and the truck did work although the bumper was falling off and the steering wheel had a chunk missing from the rubber cover, it smelled like smoke and felt grimy. But it carried our merchandise. The manager said she would look it over and get back to me. I still have not heard from her although it was Friday morning and it is now Saturday night. Not the usual service I expect from UHaul.Deborah R.

Your manager/associate Dawn was fantastic. She explained all of the options for both the truck rental as well as the storage unit. She was very personable and was very helpful. Put more people working on the same shift. The two that were there clearly had attitudes that did not translate into good customer relations. Your contactless pickup system at this store was a terrible experience. I made a reservation for 7:30am as a contactless pickup knowing full well that the store does not open until 9am. U-Haul.com allowed me to make the reservation anyway. I arrived at the store at 7:30am only to find out in the app that reservation was set up for in person. I called the 800 number and they confirmed that this was not the case, I had indeed setup up a contactless pickup. Upon further investigation, they discovered that your system told them there was not a key to give me for my truck which caused this issue. Of course the person on the phone couldn't give me a new key. My question is, was anyone going to call me and let me know that I was unable to pickup my truck at 7:30am? I was told to come back at 9am to get a key, when I arrived, the local U-Haul employee had to change my reservation in order to go through the mobile â€œcontactlessâ€ pickup. At the very end of the process you still have to come in and get a key from any employee. This process should not be called contactless pickup, there is nothing contactless about it. If I have to come in to receive my key from an employee, it negates the contactless function. I will be considering other options in the future for my moving needs.Nicholas I.

Customer service wasn't professional. I've never rented an Uhaul before and the young man walked me outside gave a dolly I requested at rent time of uhaul, saying the one I rented wasn't available. Then pointed to a line of trucks and said that one is yours. I said ok he said make sure you do a walk around. I put the dolly in the truck. And didn't give me no instructions for drop off. First of all the guys at the counter were cool but sat on their phones 90% of the time I was there. Second we get in the truck and it's filthy. There was cigarette ash all over the place and exposed razor blades just all around the truck. Then when I get back I only used 1/8 of gas tank. They said it will be $10 fill up charge. Which is a gimmick but I said ok. Check my card I was charged 13.50 extra. Poor service poor facilityDEREK S.
There was an issue with the electronic entrance to my unit for the first 2 months of our experience, which meant I could not access the unit after 7pm, which did not adhere to the posted schedule I had signed up for. I brought it to the attention of management and they said they were working on fixing it & apologized for the inconvenience. But upon asking for some sort of bill reduction, I was told they'd have to ask the facility head. Ivory ever got back to me & I was given the runaround a few times. That's not right. Not giving me access at times outside my personal work hours really resulted in a terrible experience. Additionally, I showed up 10 minutes before the office closed one night & asked the staff member in duty if he could help me get into my unit as my card wasn't working. He said he couldn't because he was closing up. Again, awful customer service & completely inappropriate foe the staff member to value their closing over a customers needs while they were still open. While the door issue was eventually fixed, it was too little too late. We've since moved to another facility in the area & are having a much better experience. Unfortunately, I don't see myself ever using UHaul again.Michael L. | Overall Experience

The staff at the East Providence, RI location are excellent, providing excellent customer service. Dawn went above and beyond to help me when I arrived it was noted that the call and reservation center did not send my storage rental information to them so they could get my ubox out of storage so I could have it transferred to a storage unit. They also gave me wrong information about what a split level unit is; luckily once again Dawn at the site location saved me from climbing stairs to get to a unit. Very unprofessional of UHAUL Call Center! If not for Dawn who went out of her way to get my ubox out from being buried among other uboxes, I would have been out $200 for the movers I had arranged. Thank you Dawn!!! As for the UHAUL Call & Reservation Center HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! The storage facility at East Providence is clean but two things I didn't like: 1. street level storage units have very low ceilings, smell damp and there is no lights so the units are dark. 2. there is no elevator for above street level storage or split levels which is ridiculous!! don't know about lighting because I didn't look at those units.janet t. | Overall Experience
